My Tiny Greek Haul
I wish I was one of those people who traveled to shop. I know a lot of friends are champions at it and they bring back the most exquisite jewels in terms of makeup products and clothes and accessories from their vacations... But I have never been able to master the art and every time I am back from a holiday and people ask me what I got, I lament at the fact that I let an opportunity go!
My previous vacation was no different and I ended up getting an assortment of stuff that range from makeup to skincare to jewelry and that too in limited quantities, cause you know - no money left and the binding weight allowance defined by various airlines...
So here goes...
1. Makeup
I wanted to get a lot of Korres makeup but it was so damned expensive that I was like Really? And I wasn't even sure that the hype around Korres was even worth it and so I skipped the brand for makeup and got skincare from it instead (more about it in the next section)...But I had to get some makeup at least from my time in Greece and so I hauled a tiny bit at Flormar cause the brand not only look inexpensive but also interesting. Later I got to know that Flormar is an Italian-Turkish brand and not Greek :/
LOL
So anyways, here are the products I got myself...
i) Flormar Satin Matte Blush - Rose Coral
ii) Flormar Mono Eye Shadows - Stardust Brown, Pearly Black, White Satin
iii) Flormar Extreme Matte Lipstick - Haute Burgundy
iv) Flormar Super Matte Lipstick - Milk Chocolate, Rose Chocolate
v) Flormar Silk Matte Liquid Lipstick - Autumn Timber
vi) Flormar Triple Action Mascara
2. Skincare
Before I embarked on my holiday I knew I wanted to get loads of Olive Oil products and in addition to bottles of Olive Oil, I ended up getting a couple of Olive Oil Soap Bars and a dry oil from Korres containing Olive Oil and Honey... I love the oil and I wish I had brought a backup with me...
In addition to Olive Oil products I also got a Sunflower Oil Lip Balm from Korres and a Volcanic Scrub Soap from Santorini. The island of Santorini was created after a volcanic eruption and so Volcanic Rock and Volcanic Soil products are huge there!
3. Fragrance
In addition to perfumes and body mists that I got as gifts for everyone, I indulged and bought myself an Eau De Cologne from Korres in the fragrance Summer Wood. It costed in 18 Euros. The fragrance is subtle, not jarring and has a musky note that is cool not warm. It is a sophisticated smell but doesn't stay on for too long sadly :(
4. Jewelry
One thing that I knew I wanted to indulge in a little when I was in Greece was some Silver jewelry and because I am obsessed with the Greek Key Symbol called Maiandros which in ancient Greek Mythology symbolizes unity and infinity, it was obvious I would go for some jewelry in this Ancient Greek pattern...
I got myself a finger ring and a pair of earrings accentuated with Opals in Silver. I also got my sister the same finger ring (not pictured above).
4. Souvenirs
I have a tradition of getting fridge magnets from all the places I visit outside of India and Greece was no exception except that the pati went crazy and he ODed on fridge magnets from all the places we visited in Greece... But I am sort of glad he did because now every time I am in the kitchen I am reminded of the fabulous time we had there :)
I love collecting fridge magnets and the ones you have got looks super cute.
