LOTD: My Current Makeup Routine

LOTD: My Current Makeup Routine

My typical weekday starts with my alarm going off at 6:50 am and me putting it on snooze without fail... I am finally up by 7:15 am and out of the door for my tennis lessons by 7:40 am... It's with clockwork precision that I follow these times... After an hour of tennis I dash off to my workplace where I shower and get ready to face the day!

Since my makeup is generally a hurried 7 minutes affair at the sink in my office's washroom, it needs to be quick, easy and effective. Today I plan to share my current makeup routine that I have been doing over the past month or so...

1. Base Makeup

As much as I like keeping my base makeup to a minimum I have been going the full foundation and concealer routine this past month. This is because I somehow feel that doing makeup on a tanned complexion is a lot of fun and a novel experience and since I have tanned a lot these past months there couldn't have been a better canvas for me than myself!
I try to keep my foundation as sheer as possible and use my fingers to apply and blend it. I use a little concealer on the under area simply to create a little dimension and set it all with a mattifying powder.

Maybelline Fit Me Foundation Matte + Poreless
Maybelline Fit Me Stick Foundation
L'Oreal Paris Mat Magique Transforming Powder

2. Eye Makeup

I have always loved playing up the eyes whenever I do my makeup and my current routine is no different. I use a cream eyeshadow as my base and apply a shimmery nude powder eyeshadow on top of it. This combination keeps my eyeshadow from creasing and keeps it on for the whole day. I then heavily line my eyes with black kohl and also smudge a little of it on my eyelids to create a little more drama. I finish off the look with generous coats of mascara.

Shiseido Shimmering Cream Eyeshadow - BE728
MAC Patina Eyeshadow
Lakme Eyeconic Kajal
Maybelline The Falsies Push Up Drama Mascara

3. Lipstick

This generally keeps on changing but lately I have been getting drawn to pinks like nobody's business and so I opt for a sheer and a very moisturising lipstick so that my lips don't start feeling dry in the middle of the day.

Bobbi Brown Sheer Lip Color in Hot Raspberry

4. Finishing Touches

Finally, I complete my look with a hint of blush, a touch of highlighter on the bridge of my nose and filling in my brows.

Maybelline Eyebrow Pencil
Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick in Bronze
Sleek 3-in-1 Blush Palette in Lace

Cover The Cover: Harper's Bazaar (India) March 2012

You all know that I love tweaking my blog here and there and making some changes, introducing newer features and well sometimes just hooking the blog onto some social networking site :) Well this time I am introducing a new feature that I promise will be really exciting for all beauty enthusiasts :) To start with this feature is called "Cover The Cover" where I shall be covering the cover pages of our favorite beauty and fashion magazines in terms of make-up. There are times when a certain look on a celeb or a fashion mag just gets to us. Well rather than just mulling over such looks I have decided to give life to such looks (on me) and well do a kind of a faux photo shoot ;) What say? Doesn't it sound like fun? What more? You are all invited to submit your looks with a reference to which magazine and edition you are covering and I'll post it here :)

Today's look is inspired by my latest fav mag Harper's Bazaar. The March edition of Harper's Bazaar is a …

Review of L'Oreal Paris Infallible Blush Paint Longwear High Impact Stick - Fuchsia Fame
Right now am sitting at the dining table trying to figure out a way to start this post in an "interesting" way... I am obviously struggling... There are these times when your mind just goes blank and you can't think of anything, right? Yeah, I am having one of those moments...

So, I guess I'll directly dive into the review and not mull around. I bought the L'Oreal Paris Infallible Blush Paint Stick on a whim... I was out window shopping at Shoppers Stop and I just happened to glance at the L'Oreal counter and this cute little stub caught my fancy... The moment I swatched it I knew I had to buy it...

Price of L'Oreal Paris Infallible Blush Paint Stick It costs a whopping INR 999/-

There is nothing much to talk about the packaging. It is exactly what it looks like, a rotating chubby stick with a cap. The plastic doesn't seem cheap and is pretty sturdy. I have d…

REVIEW: Johnson's Baby Lotion on Adult Skin

I am itching to do some makeup EOTDs and LOTDs since a while now but with guests at home I am not getting any time... So for a while you guys are stuck with me doing reviews. Not that my reviews do not need much efforts but as compared to EOTDs and LOTDs, reviews are a little bit less demanding where time constraints are concerned... Don't you agree? :)

Today I shall be reviewing the Johnson's baby lotion and before you raise your eye brows and say to yourself "WTF" let me make it absolutely clear that I bought it when I was out of a moisturiser and needed one pronto! This was the only one available and so I just bought it. I figured if it was good for babies, how could it be bad for me? The truth? Read on ;)

Johnson's Baby Lotion is Clinically proven to be mild and mild it sure is. It has a soft and soothing fragrance, which I love. Once applied it gets absorbed really fast and does not leave a residual oiliness or greasiness. It would be perfect for normal ski…
