Top 5 Matte Lipsticks for Medium Skintone

Top 5 Matte Lipsticks for Medium Skintone

Hey guys! Its been like forever since I posted anything here and truth be told I have been kind of losing interest in anything makeup related. So much so that I have even stopped wearing makeup on a regular basis. Its just an eyebrow pencil, a little highlight on my nose and a liquid liner and I am kinda good to go... I am not sure what's really going on, it could just be a phase, I sure do hope that it is *crosses fingers*...

Anyways, I have however started a new travel blog of sorts. Its called My Infinite Wanderlust and I have been giving it a lot of my time and that could be one reason I have had no energy left to put here... But now that I am writing a post today I feel like I have truly missed writing about makeup and beauty and this may just be the impetus that I need to get my ass right back to being a part-time beauty blogger :)

So today I plan to share with you all my top 5 lipsticks that i think would suit anyone with a medium skin tone. These lipsticks are very easy to get your hands on, they are easily available in the Indian market, the shades are flattering and I for one feel that if you have these 5 shades in your kitty, you don't really need anything else...
So let's get started!

1. Lakme Enrich Matte Lipstick - BM10

This is my go to MLBB shade because it not only compliments Indian skin tones, it also feels nourishing which at the same time gives a matte finish. It is literally the hardest thing to find a matte lipstick that doesn't feel drying and this little beauty from Lakme fits the bill...
The fact that it does not cost a bomb is another thing that makes it a favourite!
Price: INR 295/-

2. MAC Matte Lipstick - All Fired Up

Where do I even begin with this one! Matte lipsticks from MAC are my favourite and this gorgeous pink thing is genuinely my favourite of the lot. The shade is fun and fiercely feminine that gives an opaque, full coverage finish that stays for more than 7 hours on one's lips.
It glides on smoothly, is not very drying and mostly transfer proof!
Price: INR 1450/-

3. Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick - Dolce

Another super long stay lipstick with a matte finish, Stila Stay All Day Lippy in Dolce is a nude shade that would suit skin tones that range from light to medium. It has a pinkish undertone and can be very flattering when paired with some dramatic eye makeup.
It feels very light when applied and quickly dries up to a matte finish, it however requires you to exfoliate your lips before you apply it else it can tend to look flaky.
Price: INR 1800/-

4. MAC Matte Lipstick - Ruby Woo

This is a cult favourite and requires no introduction. However, for those who have just gotten onto the makeup scene and haven't heard about this shade, let me simply start by saying that this perhaps is the BEST red lipstick in the market. It is a Classic, Retro finish, vibrant Red shade with a gorgeous matte finish and it suits everyone. If in doubt wear MAC Ruby Woo!
Price: INR 1450/-

5. L'Oreal Paris Star Collection - Pure Amaranthe

A gorgeous, gorgeous shade of Magenta, which is warm, full coverage and has a creamy texture that gradually dries up to be matte. It is a full bodied pink that has the ability to look good on every kind of skin tone... I generally recommend this shade for festive makeup looks because I have noticed it look especially beautiful when paired with fancy, glittery outfits. It compliments Indian wear to the Tee and brings out a certain glow in one's complexion.
Price: INR 990/-

Which are your favourite matte lipsticks available in the Indian market?

Cover The Cover: Harper's Bazaar (India) March 2012

You all know that I love tweaking my blog here and there and making some changes, introducing newer features and well sometimes just hooking the blog onto some social networking site :) Well this time I am introducing a new feature that I promise will be really exciting for all beauty enthusiasts :) To start with this feature is called "Cover The Cover" where I shall be covering the cover pages of our favorite beauty and fashion magazines in terms of make-up. There are times when a certain look on a celeb or a fashion mag just gets to us. Well rather than just mulling over such looks I have decided to give life to such looks (on me) and well do a kind of a faux photo shoot ;) What say? Doesn't it sound like fun? What more? You are all invited to submit your looks with a reference to which magazine and edition you are covering and I'll post it here :)

Today's look is inspired by my latest fav mag Harper's Bazaar. The March edition of Harper's Bazaar is a …

REVIEW: L'Oreal Paris Infallible Blush Paint Longwear High Impact Stick - Fuchsia Fame

Review of L'Oreal Paris Infallible Blush Paint Longwear High Impact Stick - Fuchsia Fame
Right now am sitting at the dining table trying to figure out a way to start this post in an "interesting" way... I am obviously struggling... There are these times when your mind just goes blank and you can't think of anything, right? Yeah, I am having one of those moments...

So, I guess I'll directly dive into the review and not mull around. I bought the L'Oreal Paris Infallible Blush Paint Stick on a whim... I was out window shopping at Shoppers Stop and I just happened to glance at the L'Oreal counter and this cute little stub caught my fancy... The moment I swatched it I knew I had to buy it...

Price of L'Oreal Paris Infallible Blush Paint Stick It costs a whopping INR 999/-

There is nothing much to talk about the packaging. It is exactly what it looks like, a rotating chubby stick with a cap. The plastic doesn't seem cheap and is pretty sturdy. I have d…

REVIEW & LOTD: Faces Long Wear Pencil in Navy Blue

While doing the "Meet The Bloggers" feature every Saturday, I have realised (and I am sure that you all have too) that Faces is fast becoming a very popular brand amongst us especially the Faces Long Wear pencils. So much so that a lot of people prefer Faces Long Wear pencils to even Colorbar I-Glides and that ladies and gentlemen is quite a feat for a newly launched brand. So anyways, I got myself a "Navy Blue" from this range and I must say that I am very happy with it. This is my second pencil from Faces after "Turquoise Blue" and well it hasn't failed me either.
This particular shade is a beautiful deep blue that looks stunning on the eye lids.
