Review of Maybelline Lash Sensational Full Fan Effect Mascara

I am sitting in my living room right now, nibbling on a slice of banana bread, while the pati is enjoying the antics of Charlie from Two and a Half Men that's playing on TV... The past few months has been so hectic for me with all the traveling and stuff that quiet evenings at home like these is something I have been living for lately :)
Don't get me wrong, traveling is great but just sometimes I crave going back to warm and cozy times at home... It's like using makeup products from high-end brands one after another and then just for a change you go back to using your trusted drugstore brand and realise how much you missed it...
That's exactly what happened with me when I switched back to a Maybelline mascara...

Today I plan to write about the Maybelline Lash Sensational Full Fan Effect Mascara that I have been using for a while now...
The first thing you notice about this Maybelline mascara is the fact that the color of packaging is not some crazy fluorescent pink or the trademark yellow... Its a mellowed powder pink which makes it look "grown up" and pretty and a little classy... However, like all Maybeline mascaras it comes in a fat fat tube with a long, comfortable wand...

It comes in two variants, washable and waterproof... I opted for the washable one as they are more easy to work with and also remove.

Price of Maybelline Lash Sensational Full Fan Effect Mascara

It costs INR 500/-

The special thing about this mascara is its wand, its curved, consists of multiple layers of bristles that are of varying length fulfilling different purposes. To use the mascara to its full potential, you are supposed to first turn the brush so that the inward curve first brushes your lashes. This ensures that the shorter and stiffer bristles comb and coat your roots. The next coat should be applied with the outward curve coating your lashes with product such that it imparts a fan-like effect...

So how does it perform? In all fairness its pretty decent but it could be better. It'll probably be enough for those with decent natural lashes, however for someone like me who has negligible lashes, I need to coat another volumizing mascara over this.

Overall Rating:
8/10

Makeup Class: Difference Between A Bronzer, A Highlighter, An Illuminator & A Brightener

Bronzer Vs Highlighter Vs Illuminator Vs Brightener

Very often than not being a beauty blogger I come across the terms Bronzer, Highlighter, Brightener and Illuminator at least a dozen times a day. These terms are everywhere and people use them in their daily conversation with so much confidence that you'd be surprised at how wrong many of them are in their usages. Oh! Yes even I have made mistakes in the past about their connotations and today armed with research, experiments and well just plain analysis I have reached a consensus where I can now confidently put forth the results of my hard work...

Yes, today ladies and gentlemen, I shall be clearing all the confusion that prevails behind Bronzers, Highlighters, Illuminators and Brighteners!

REVIEW: Johnson's Baby Lotion on Adult Skin

I am itching to do some makeup EOTDs and LOTDs since a while now but with guests at home I am not getting any time... So for a while you guys are stuck with me doing reviews. Not that my reviews do not need much efforts but as compared to EOTDs and LOTDs, reviews are a little bit less demanding where time constraints are concerned... Don't you agree? :)

Today I shall be reviewing the Johnson's baby lotion and before you raise your eye brows and say to yourself "WTF" let me make it absolutely clear that I bought it when I was out of a moisturiser and needed one pronto! This was the only one available and so I just bought it. I figured if it was good for babies, how could it be bad for me? The truth? Read on ;)

Johnson's Baby Lotion is Clinically proven to be mild and mild it sure is. It has a soft and soothing fragrance, which I love. Once applied it gets absorbed really fast and does not leave a residual oiliness or greasiness. It would be perfect for normal ski…

10 Best Loose Powders Available in India

10 Best Loose Powders Available in IndiaISLM Writer: Sanchita

Summer is going to knock on the door soon and we, who are blessed (or cursed) with oily skin, will crawl back to our powders and/or matte foundations to keep the skin oil-free as far as possible. Being oily skinned, I have always found my way back to loose powders even though their packaging is slightly messy. This is because loose or translucent powders are more finely milled than the compact versions and hence gives you an even look rather than a made-up cakey one. Compact has the tendency to look rough under eyes or around the mouth whereas loose powders work excellently. No wonder, oily skin stays matte for longer duration than it does with the compact ones. Mostly, it gives sheer to buildable coverage and sits on the skin like a natural finish look.
