REVIEW: Revlon Ultra HD Matte LipColor in Addicted

I have meaning to do this review post since a while now but things have been simply crazy the past few days at work and personally as well... Plus with the long Independence Day weekend and the short trip that we took as a group just left me no time to do a review...
However, I am glad to be back to my daily routine and I feel all refreshed and am raring to go! :)

When I first bought the Revlon Ultra HD Matte LipColor and shared a picture of it on Instagram (@isimplylovemakeup) I received mixed comments on it. Some simply raved about it while others totally hated on it... It was either a 0 or a 1, nothing in between and that was something that got me super excited to give the product a shot!

Price of Revlon Ultra HD Matte LipColor

It costs INR 1,195/-

First things first, let's talk about the packaging... I simply love it! It comes in a gorgeous ground glass tube with a doe foot applicator that is both easy to use and also looks pretty and expensive. Fragrance wise it has a strong and sweet scent that may not be something that people with sensitive noses might like. However, I don't find it as repulsive and to be fair it disappears seconds after the application.

Coming to the texture of the product, it is delightful. Its a liquid lipstick that essentially embodies the opacity of a lipstick and at the same mimics the moisturising properties of a lipgloss. It has superb pigmentation and just one swipe of color is enough. However, the claim that it is matte might slightly be a little misleading since it takes a very long time to dry up into a matte finish. When I say "a long time", I mea like more than a hour and hence it looks glossy and not matte during the initial wear time.
Additionally, it is very light-weight and pretty moisturising and hence is a great product to wear when you are either in an AC environment or are in a cold and a dry place.

The staying power of the liquid lipstick in astounding as it stays put on one's lips for more than 8 hours easily and leaves behind a gorgeous and even stain.

Pros of Revlon Ultra HD Matte Lipcolor

  1. Superb pigmentation
  2. Comfortable & moisturising texture
  3. Long staying power
  4. Not drying
  5. Expensive looking packaging

Cons of Revlon Ultra HD Matte Lipcolor

  1. Very expensive
  2. Artificial fruity fragrance
  3. Not matte as it claims to be

Overall Rating:

If you don't mind shelling out more than 1k for a drugstore liquid lipstick then I whole-heartedly recommend it!

  1. The packaging is quite similar to the Chambor liquid lipstick. I'll have to try these since the Chambor ones are way too drying. This shade looks fab on you :)

  2. The shade! Simply gorgeous! I guess I am not bothered about it being completely matte considering how lovely the swatch is! Great post.:)

  3. Awesome shade. Love your look.

  4. Nice Review :) You look super gorgeous in this lip color. For information about parlour, salons and spa in Delhi -NCR Visit

REVIEW: Johnson's Baby Lotion on Adult Skin

I am itching to do some makeup EOTDs and LOTDs since a while now but with guests at home I am not getting any time... So for a while you guys are stuck with me doing reviews. Not that my reviews do not need much efforts but as compared to EOTDs and LOTDs, reviews are a little bit less demanding where time constraints are concerned... Don't you agree? :) Today I shall be reviewing the Johnson's baby lotion and before you raise your eye brows and say to yourself "WTF" let me make it absolutely clear that I bought it when I was out of a moisturiser and needed one pronto! This was the only one available and so I just bought it. I figured if it was good for babies, how could it be bad for me? The truth? Read on ;) Johnson's Baby Lotion is Clinically proven to be mild and mild it sure is. It has a soft and soothing fragrance, which I love. Once applied it gets absorbed really fast and does not leave a residual oiliness or greasiness. It would be perfect for normal

Changes in my Skincare and Fitness Perspective Post 30

Changes in my Skincare and Fitness Perspective Post 30 #Adulting One early morning while I was sipping an exceptionally strong cup of coffee and introspecting I identified a few lifestyle changes that I had incorporated in the past year or so. On further retrospection I realised that these changes were a part of what I perceived would be good for me in the long run... When did I start thinking about my health in the future? When did I start worrying about how my skin would be 10 years down the line? OMG was I #Adulting? Is this even the correct usage of the latest hashtag?

Makeup Class: Difference Between A Bronzer, A Highlighter, An Illuminator & A Brightener

Bronzer Vs Highlighter Vs Illuminator Vs Brightener  Very often than not being a beauty blogger I come across the terms Bronzer, Highlighter, Brightener and Illuminator at least a dozen times a day. These terms are everywhere and people use them in their daily conversation with so much confidence that you'd be surprised at how wrong many of them are in their usages. Oh! Yes even I have made mistakes in the past about their connotations and today armed with research, experiments and well just plain analysis I have reached a consensus where I can now confidently put forth the results of my hard work... Yes, today ladies and gentlemen, I shall be clearing all the confusion that prevails behind Bronzers, Highlighters, Illuminators and Brighteners!
