REVIEW: LA Girl Gel Glide Eyeliner in Dark Brown

REVIEW: LA Girl Gel Glide Eyeliner in Dark Brown

ISLM Writer: Sanchita

People were gushing about when NYX launched in India (check Nykaa) but I went mad after the launch of L.A. Girl. Although only handful of products were launched compared to their awesome range, I was glad to find the Gel Glide Eyeliner Pencils. These pretty babies are the drugstore dupe of the rich and famous Urban Decay 24-7 Glide-on Eye Pencil. Okay, I am college student and I can’t go around shelling money on UD (although I love the eyeshadows!) Being an eyeliner fanatic, I bought few colors from the range of L.A. Girl and one particular product just blew my mind of. Want to know why? Read on to know ore about it.

Makeup wearers no longer have to choose between the ease of application in an eye pencil and the smooth feel of liquid eyeliner. The new Glide liner has the soft and gliding feel of liquid that comes in a pencil that can be sharpened. Available in 19 highly pigmented colors, this product is designed for makeup enthusiasts and trendsetters who are looking for the best products on the market as a reasonable price.

Price of LA Girl Gel Glide Eyeliner

My Review of LA Girl Gel Glide Eyeliner

The L.A. Girl Gel Glide Eyeliner comes with a sharpenable body and a transparent cap. The whole body of the eye liner pencil is color coded and even if you buy all the shades, don’t worry you won’t mix them up at all. Since the pencil has to be sharpened, a large amount of product is wasted and trust me, with such amazing quality, it is literally heart breaking every time you sharpen this thing. Thus, I use least amount of pressure and try to save whatever little product I can.

The name of the shade says “Dark brown” and believe me or not, it is the dark brown you can get. The color is an intense one and has no undertones whatsoever – simply deepest brown. Not even Urban Decay has such a deep brown.

The color has no flick of shimmer, glitter or frosty touch and is pure matte. You if you looking for an alternative for black, this is the one for you. Also, it is a great product to create a quick smudgy black-brown smoky eye.

This is where I was spellbound. Such strong and rich pigmentation with one swipe! If you see the swatch of my hand, it delivers the deepest hue in just one swipe. Thus, you don’t need to go again and again to get the full saturation of color. On the waterline though, it requires 2-3swipes to get the full intensity but shows up pretty well.

The texture is not regular eye liner pencils like (Lakme, Colorbar and Faces) but a super creamy one. You would probably feel nothing you would glide this one the eyelids, because it is so smooth. Due to the creaminess, it can be smudged easily to create eye makeup but once it dries down, it won’t budge at all. Even though it dries matte, it never crumbles or irritates the eyes. The product is also cruelty free, paraben and fragrance free.

The formula is smudge free and water proof. Thus, you won’t have to think twice before splashing water on the face or accidentally touching the eyes. However, for removal, use an oil based makeup or eye makeup remover to take off the product.

The color lasted on my eyelids and lower lash line for about 7hrs in the month of June when the temperature was hot and humid. For the water line, its lasts for about 4hrs and then it starts to fade off but not completely. Thus, I would say the longevity is surely impressive.

What I Disliked About LA Girl Gel Glide Eyeliner

  1. Sharpening leads to wastage.

Overall Rating:

I am in love with the product and there is nothing to dislike about it, except for the fact that you hate to see product wastage. They have an amazing range of 19 colors and each of them is as stunning as it can be. This one is highly recommended from my side.

REVIEW: Johnson's Baby Lotion on Adult Skin

I am itching to do some makeup EOTDs and LOTDs since a while now but with guests at home I am not getting any time... So for a while you guys are stuck with me doing reviews. Not that my reviews do not need much efforts but as compared to EOTDs and LOTDs, reviews are a little bit less demanding where time constraints are concerned... Don't you agree? :) Today I shall be reviewing the Johnson's baby lotion and before you raise your eye brows and say to yourself "WTF" let me make it absolutely clear that I bought it when I was out of a moisturiser and needed one pronto! This was the only one available and so I just bought it. I figured if it was good for babies, how could it be bad for me? The truth? Read on ;) Johnson's Baby Lotion is Clinically proven to be mild and mild it sure is. It has a soft and soothing fragrance, which I love. Once applied it gets absorbed really fast and does not leave a residual oiliness or greasiness. It would be perfect for normal

Changes in my Skincare and Fitness Perspective Post 30

Changes in my Skincare and Fitness Perspective Post 30 #Adulting One early morning while I was sipping an exceptionally strong cup of coffee and introspecting I identified a few lifestyle changes that I had incorporated in the past year or so. On further retrospection I realised that these changes were a part of what I perceived would be good for me in the long run... When did I start thinking about my health in the future? When did I start worrying about how my skin would be 10 years down the line? OMG was I #Adulting? Is this even the correct usage of the latest hashtag?

Makeup Class: Difference Between A Bronzer, A Highlighter, An Illuminator & A Brightener

Bronzer Vs Highlighter Vs Illuminator Vs Brightener  Very often than not being a beauty blogger I come across the terms Bronzer, Highlighter, Brightener and Illuminator at least a dozen times a day. These terms are everywhere and people use them in their daily conversation with so much confidence that you'd be surprised at how wrong many of them are in their usages. Oh! Yes even I have made mistakes in the past about their connotations and today armed with research, experiments and well just plain analysis I have reached a consensus where I can now confidently put forth the results of my hard work... Yes, today ladies and gentlemen, I shall be clearing all the confusion that prevails behind Bronzers, Highlighters, Illuminators and Brighteners!
