REVIEW & LOTD: NYX Butter Lipstick in Fire Brick

A girl can never have enough lipsticks. Give a girl 27 Red lipsticks and she will be able to tell you the difference between each of the 27 shades. We are gifted that way, intuitive even and hence when the pati exclaims at the number of lipsticks on display on my dresser I just smile at him and calmly open my drawers that hold triple the number of lippies :) *winks*

Talking about Red lipsticks, today I plan to review a gorgeously bright Red lipstick from NYX cosmetics in the shade Fire Brick.

Price of NYX Butter Lipsticks

It costs INR 550/-

The NYX Butter Lipstick in Fire Brick is a bright Red shade that is in your face and not sorry about it. It's a showstopper for sure and will ensure that you are the focus of the evening :)
Texture wise it is smooth and buttery and literally melts on your lips. It glides on like a dream and gives an opaque coverage with a single swipe itself. It feels very light on the lips, is not drying, does not settle in the fine lines and I love the formula.

It does *not* dry to a matte finish and hence it can easily transfer to any surface your lips touch be it a coffee mug, a spoon, a fruit and even some one's collar ;) Jokes aside it really transfers a lot!
It doesn't boast of being long stay. It stays on me for about 3 to 4 hours without a meal though it doesn't leave a soft stain behind...

Pros of NYX Butter Lipsticks

  1. Buttery texture and glides on smoothly
  2. Feels creamy and is not drying
  3. Makes lips look juicy and very attractive
  4. Good pigmentation
  5. Reasonably priced
  6. Fades uniformly into a stain

Cons of NYX Butter Lipsticks

  1. Does not stay on the lips for long
  2. Transfers like crazy

Overall Rating:

I'd recommend buying a shade or two from the range because of its gorgeous formula and it being reasonably priced. However, since they transfer a lot, I'd suggest sticking to not very bright colors.

  1. This lipstick looks super tempting. The shade and texture are so juicy and melt on the lips kind of buttery at the same time. Am going to check these out for sure.

  2. Lovely lipstick shade... posted :

Cover The Cover: Harper's Bazaar (India) March 2012

You all know that I love tweaking my blog here and there and making some changes, introducing newer features and well sometimes just hooking the blog onto some social networking site :) Well this time I am introducing a new feature that I promise will be really exciting for all beauty enthusiasts :) To start with this feature is called "Cover The Cover" where I shall be covering the cover pages of our favorite beauty and fashion magazines in terms of make-up. There are times when a certain look on a celeb or a fashion mag just gets to us. Well rather than just mulling over such looks I have decided to give life to such looks (on me) and well do a kind of a faux photo shoot ;) What say? Doesn't it sound like fun? What more? You are all invited to submit your looks with a reference to which magazine and edition you are covering and I'll post it here :) Today's look is inspired by my latest fav mag Harper's Bazaar. The March edition of Harper's Bazaar is a

REVIEW & LOTD: Faces Long Wear Pencil in Navy Blue

While doing the "Meet The Bloggers" feature every Saturday, I have realised (and I am sure that you all have too) that Faces is fast becoming a very popular brand amongst us especially the Faces Long Wear pencils. So much so that a lot of people prefer Faces Long Wear pencils to even Colorbar I-Glides and that ladies and gentlemen is quite a feat for a newly launched brand. So anyways, I got myself a "Navy Blue" from this range and I must say that I am very happy with it. This is my second pencil from Faces after "Turquoise Blue" and well it hasn't failed me either. This particular shade is a beautiful deep blue that looks stunning on the eye lids. Doesn't smudge on my oily lids even after 8 hours of wear. 3. Friendly to the pocket

REVIEW: Johnson's Baby Lotion on Adult Skin

I am itching to do some makeup EOTDs and LOTDs since a while now but with guests at home I am not getting any time... So for a while you guys are stuck with me doing reviews. Not that my reviews do not need much efforts but as compared to EOTDs and LOTDs, reviews are a little bit less demanding where time constraints are concerned... Don't you agree? :) Today I shall be reviewing the Johnson's baby lotion and before you raise your eye brows and say to yourself "WTF" let me make it absolutely clear that I bought it when I was out of a moisturiser and needed one pronto! This was the only one available and so I just bought it. I figured if it was good for babies, how could it be bad for me? The truth? Read on ;) Johnson's Baby Lotion is Clinically proven to be mild and mild it sure is. It has a soft and soothing fragrance, which I love. Once applied it gets absorbed really fast and does not leave a residual oiliness or greasiness. It would be perfect for normal
