Do I Recommend The Lakme 9 to 5 Weightless Mousse Foundation?

Review: The Lakme 9 to 5 Weightless Mousse Foundation

I had updated on snapchat (@samyukta_islm) last week that I suspected the Lakme 9 to 5 Weightless Mousse Foundation to be breaking me out and hence I have been keeping a keen eye on the foundation since.

I wear foundation to work on a daily basis and I had been looking for a lightweight everyday kind of foundation as opposed to the Maybelline Fit Me that I usually wear. And hence when I heard of the Lakme 9 to 5 Weightless Mousse Foundation I bought it and hoped against hope that it would work for me :P

Price of Lakme 9 to 5 Weightless Mousse Foundation

It costs INR 575/-

I am shade 02, Beige Vanilla in this foundation.

As the name suggests the foundation is supposed to be a mousse consistency and that is exactly what it is. Its so light and so fluffy to touch that sometimes I am not even sure if I have applied foundation. It literally feels like I am wearing nothing at all where base makeup is concerned.
I generally apply it with a flat foundation brush but if you please you could use your fingers too.
I would not suggest using a beauty blender/sponge because it is a mousse foundation and not liquid. A damp beauty sponge can tend to "dilute" the foundation further and render it almost useless.
I don't recommend using a stippling brush if you have considerable peach-fuzz (facial hair) because the stippling action kind of makes the facial hair stand out and since the foundation is very light, it doesn't help in settling the facial hair.

Fragrance wise it has an artificial floral smell that is not that annoying. It does linger on for a while but it shouldn't really be very bothersome.

As is evident from the pictures the Lakme 9 to 5 Weightless Mousse Foundation comes in a squeeze tube kind of packaging and a metallic Rose gold cap. The packaging is practical, travel friendly and convenient to use. The only thing I don't like is that you cannot tell the amount of product that is left in the tube.

As far as the finish of the foundation is concerned it is dewy, not too much but just the perfect amount. You will love it if you have normal to dry skin. Oily skin beauties can use powder over it while those with very dry skin would need to moisturise properly underneath. This foundation is literally something that can be made to work for everyone.

Lastly, the longevity of the foundation is awesome. It stays put on me for almost 12 hours and still looks great. I have already ordered for my second tube :)

Does it break me out?
It turns out that the foundation does not break me out :) It was something else that was breaking me out and I confused it with this foundation :/ My Bad!

Do I Recommend The Lakme 9 to 5 Weightless Mousse Foundation?
I do, I do, I do :)

Overall Rating:

  1. That's great... I was looking for a light weight daily wear foundation and I am sure I am going to buy this... thank you for your detailed review... you are looking amazing in this pic...

I am itching to do some makeup EOTDs and LOTDs since a while now but with guests at home I am not getting any time... So for a while you guys are stuck with me doing reviews. Not that my reviews do not need much efforts but as compared to EOTDs and LOTDs, reviews are a little bit less demanding where time constraints are concerned... Don't you agree? :) Today I shall be reviewing the Johnson's baby lotion and before you raise your eye brows and say to yourself "WTF" let me make it absolutely clear that I bought it when I was out of a moisturiser and needed one pronto! This was the only one available and so I just bought it. I figured if it was good for babies, how could it be bad for me? The truth? Read on ;) Johnson's Baby Lotion is Clinically proven to be mild and mild it sure is. It has a soft and soothing fragrance, which I love. Once applied it gets absorbed really fast and does not leave a residual oiliness or greasiness. It would be perfect for normal

Makeup Class: Difference Between A Bronzer, A Highlighter, An Illuminator & A Brightener

Bronzer Vs Highlighter Vs Illuminator Vs Brightener  Very often than not being a beauty blogger I come across the terms Bronzer, Highlighter, Brightener and Illuminator at least a dozen times a day. These terms are everywhere and people use them in their daily conversation with so much confidence that you'd be surprised at how wrong many of them are in their usages. Oh! Yes even I have made mistakes in the past about their connotations and today armed with research, experiments and well just plain analysis I have reached a consensus where I can now confidently put forth the results of my hard work... Yes, today ladies and gentlemen, I shall be clearing all the confusion that prevails behind Bronzers, Highlighters, Illuminators and Brighteners!
