Comparison Review: L'Oreal Dry Shampoo Vs Batiste Dry Shampoo Vs BBlunt Dry Shampoo

Comparison Review: L'Oreal Dry Shampoo Vs Batiste Dry Shampoo Vs BBlunt Dry Shampoo

'Tis the season of dry shampoos, my love... Summers and the Monsoons are the two seasons that see me go through dry shampoos like my life depended on them! Its crazy but true! So now that I have gone through quite a number of them, I decided to do a comparison post on the 3 most popular dry shampoos in the Indian market :D
*rubs hands in glee*

Ladies and gentlemen, please put your hands together for three contestants tonight... L'oreal Paris Professional Fresh Dust Dry Shampoo, Batiste Dry Shampoo and BBlunt Back to Life Dry Shampoo...
*stands up clapping hands*

For me the fragrance of hair care products is really important! Unlike skincare products the haircare products should have a long lasting fragrance cause I like to think I smell fabulous every time I flip my hair ;) And since the fragrance should linger on the whole day it should be something subtle, feminine and extremely likeable...
Out of the three dry shampoos I am comparing today the BBlunt Back To Life smells the least appealing. It smells like they tried to cover up the smell of nariyal pain with a hint of floral fragrance... Is that an imaginative description enough? :P
At second place is the Batiste Dry shampoo (I have only tried the Cherry & Blush variants) and both smell yummy... The only reason why it is at number 2 where fragrance is concerned is because the fragrance is really strong and in your face. It does stay on for almost 2 days though!
At first place fragrance wise is the L'Oreal Paris Fresh Dust Dry Shampoo. It has a very understated, sophisticated and a muted fragrance that I feel is very classy. Longevity wise it stays for about 14 hours!

BBlunt Back To Life - INR 550/- for 125 ml & INR 250/- for 30 gms
Batiste Dry Shampoo -  INR 649/- & 749/- for 200 ml (different variants) & INR 399 for 50 ml
L'oreal Professional Fresh Dust - INR 950/- for 150 ml

Does It Work?

This is the most important part of the comparison post and well I guess this is the moment of truth... Not all of them work... I have tested all three of them on 5 days old hair (5 days after a head wash)...

Let me start with the product that works the least... Ladies and gentlemen please put your hands together for L'Oreal Professional Fresh Dust Dry Shampoo. It is the most useless of the lot... All it does is make your scalp feel all fresh and clean and coupled with its dreamy fragrance, it could very well be on the verge of being a favourite. However, it just does not give any volume and it keeps my hair looking greasy as ever... For a dry shampoo it does not deliver and for the price of a whopping INR 950/-, I would not recommend it.

At second place is the BBlunt Back To Life Dry Shampoo. If you can ignore the weird fragrance for a bit, it is a decent dry shampoo. In addition to making you feel clean and fresh, it also gives some volume to your hair. However, my hair loses the fake volume in a couple of hours, which is a bummer because I leave home for work feeling on Cloud 9 but by the time I reach office and get myself a cup of coffee, my hair is back to being its dirty, greasy self! Grrrrr...

At first place is the Batiste Dry Shampoo that is probably the world's favourite dry shampoo and well honestly, it really is a no-brainer why... The price is decent and it gives you some fabulous volume... Imagine when a 5 days old greasy hair can be given some va-va-voom volume in a matter of 30 seconds that stays for 2 days straight, won't you want to "marry" the product? Batiste does that and more... I didn't want to purchase it initially cause it was so hyped that I felt that I would be let down by it. But when I saw it at the Dubai Duty-Free, I grabbed a bottle and I haven't looked back every since :) I LOVE BATISTE!
The only issue that I have with it is that it leaves a lot of white coloured residue and if you don't shake it out of your hair after application then it may fall on your shoulders and look like dandruff :/ But I think the genius people at Batiste got wary of the issue and they have now come up with Blonde and Brunette versions that I guess leave blonde and brunette coloured residue :P
I am yet to try them out though!

As far as I know the L'Oreal Professional Fresh Dust and the BBlunt Back To Life dry shampoos have a single variant. BBlunt has a 30 gms variant for INR 250/-
Batiste on the other hand have like umpteen number of variants and fragrances. Additionally they also have like travel friendly 50 ml canisters available at INR 399/-

The L'Oreal Professional Fresh Dust is available at all L'Oreal Salons across the country.
The BBlunt Back To Life is available at BBlunt counters in all leading malls including Westside and Central.
The Batiste Dry Shampoos in India are available only online at and

The Final Word!

For the price and the performance of the three dry shampoos, I whole-heartedly recommend the Batiste Dry Shampoo over the others.

Have you trued all of these? Which one's your favourite? Or would you recommend a fourth different dry shampoo altogether?

  1. I like Batiste. never tried other brands...I don't think I will ever! hahaha :P

REVIEW: Johnson's Baby Lotion on Adult Skin

I am itching to do some makeup EOTDs and LOTDs since a while now but with guests at home I am not getting any time... So for a while you guys are stuck with me doing reviews. Not that my reviews do not need much efforts but as compared to EOTDs and LOTDs, reviews are a little bit less demanding where time constraints are concerned... Don't you agree? :)

Today I shall be reviewing the Johnson's baby lotion and before you raise your eye brows and say to yourself "WTF" let me make it absolutely clear that I bought it when I was out of a moisturiser and needed one pronto! This was the only one available and so I just bought it. I figured if it was good for babies, how could it be bad for me? The truth? Read on ;)

Johnson's Baby Lotion is Clinically proven to be mild and mild it sure is. It has a soft and soothing fragrance, which I love. Once applied it gets absorbed really fast and does not leave a residual oiliness or greasiness. It would be perfect for normal ski…

Review of L'Oreal Paris Infallible Blush Paint Longwear High Impact Stick - Fuchsia Fame
Right now am sitting at the dining table trying to figure out a way to start this post in an "interesting" way... I am obviously struggling... There are these times when your mind just goes blank and you can't think of anything, right? Yeah, I am having one of those moments...

So, I guess I'll directly dive into the review and not mull around. I bought the L'Oreal Paris Infallible Blush Paint Stick on a whim... I was out window shopping at Shoppers Stop and I just happened to glance at the L'Oreal counter and this cute little stub caught my fancy... The moment I swatched it I knew I had to buy it...

Price of L'Oreal Paris Infallible Blush Paint Stick It costs a whopping INR 999/-

There is nothing much to talk about the packaging. It is exactly what it looks like, a rotating chubby stick with a cap. The plastic doesn't seem cheap and is pretty sturdy. I have d…

How I Wear My Denim Jacket To Be In Trend for 2018

How I Wear My Denim Jacket To Be In Trend for 2018 Denim is forever. It's versatility makes it a classic and in the form of a jacket it not just looks dapper and en vogue but is also comfortable and convenient... I love denim jackets because they are perfect for Pune's so called Winters and because they are the best accessories for any kind of outfit...

Going through some of the Fall Winter 2017-18 collections from the likes of Calvin Klein, Christian Dior and Stella McCartney, denim on denim seemed to be the trend in boxy and boyish silhouettes. I am not a very big fan of denim and denim and hence I prefer to pair my boxy denim jacket with a flowy, floral dress that makes the look strike a balance between feminine and androgynous.
