Comparison Review: Bed Head TIGI After Party Smoothing Cream Vs BBlunt Climate Control Anti-Frizz Cream

Comparison Review: Bed Head TIGI After Party Smoothing Cream Vs BBlunt Climate Control Anti-Frizz Cream

The title of the post is quite a handful don't you think?
Well, like I told you all on snapchat, I will not be doing product reviews that often anymore cause I plan on concentrating more on comparison reviews and giving you the low down between which is the better out of 2 or even 3 products... I think these comparison posts are more helpful and are a little more interesting than simple, off the mill, plain reviews :)
What say you?
*raises one eyebrow*

Today I plan on doing a comparison review between 2 star products, the Bed Head TIGI After Party Smoothing Hair Cream and the BBlunt Climate Control Anti-Frizz Cream. Though one says its a smoothing cream and the other an anti-frizz cream but in essence they both are supposed to do the same thing, remove frizz and make your hair look smooth and more manage-able... Right?

So here goes...

Packaging wise both products come with a pump dispenser and that is where the similarity ends. While the Bed Head TIGI After Party Smoothing cream comes in a fun fluorescent Pink packaging, the BBlunt Anti-frizz cream comes is a smart, black coloured, octagonal based bottle. The former looks funky and the latter sophisticated. I like both kinds of packaging and hence its difficult for me to choose one over the other...

The Bed Head TIGI costs INR 1000/- for 100 ml of product.
The BBlunt Anti-frizz cream costs INR 450/- for 150 gms of product.

Does It Work?

I have exceptionally dry ends and that makes my hair very frizzy. My roots however tend to be normal to oily and hence I am always on the lookout for leave-in products that promise me the world in terms of smooth, silky, manageable hair... Needless to say I had really huge hopes from both of these aforementioned products... One succeeded while the other failed miserably!
Let me elucidate...

Applied the Bed Head TIGI After Party Smoothing Cream in the hair

I received 2 bottles of BBlunt Anti-frizz cream, one from the BBlunt PR and the other in my Envy Box (April Edition) and hence I had ample time to try it out... And I hated it... Trust me when I say that I really tried to make it work for me but it just wouldn't deliver! It would make my hair greasy initially and then after a couple of hours my hair would go back to its unmanageable, frizzy self... What a nightmare! So much so that I finally stopped using it and I went back to my Wella Hair Serum.

I received the Bed Head TIGI After Party Smoothing cream from their PR a couple of weeks ago and I have been using it every single day ever since... Needless to say I love it! It delivers exactly what it claims... It makes my hair smooth, silky and surprisingly beautifully straight. I am not fibbing one bit. My bestie who has fabulously thick and shiny smooth hair even mentioned last week how she loved my hair looking so straight and soft! Now that's a biggie since my hair has always been frizzy, lifeless and dull! I attribute the change in how my hair looks to the TIGI After Party Smoothing Cream! To top it all, it doesn't even make my hair greasy one bit!

This again is a tie since both products smell wonderful albeit very different! The BBlunt cream smells like Denim After Shave which is my favourite scent in the world! Its refreshing, clean and so so enticing and having my hair smell like it the whole day is quite a treat!
The TIGI cream on the other hand smells very feminine! It's floral-fruity, strong, sweet and very long staying... And hence every time I flip my hair I get a whiff of it that kinda makes me want to go out and have fun, if you know what am saying :P

I feel BBlunt products are easier to get your hands on as compared to TIGI products.

Final Word

Even though the Bed Head TIGI After Party Smoothing cream costs double of what the BBlunt Anti-Frizz cream costs, I would hands-down prefer to buy the former than the latter. The sole reason being it works wonderfully on my hair leaving it smooth, silky and straight without any oily residue.

Have you tried these two products? Which one do you prefer?

  1. I have frizzy hair too and have been meaning to try out this bblunt product. Now thanks to your review am going to not waste my money and get Tigi instead !

    1. I am glad you found the post helpful Nikki ♥ And I truly hope that you like the TIGI product as much as I do :)

  2. I tried the bblunt one and guess what! same results as yours. is lying useless in my drawer. after reading rave reviews of it everywhere, was wondering if I am an exception, glad am not! :-)

You are all invited to submit your looks with a reference to which magazine and edition you are covering and I'll post it here :)

Today's look is inspired by my latest fav mag Harper's Bazaar. The March edition of Harper's Bazaar is a …

Review of L'Oreal Paris Infallible Blush Paint Longwear High Impact Stick - Fuchsia Fame
Right now am sitting at the dining table trying to figure out a way to start this post in an "interesting" way... I am obviously struggling... There are these times when your mind just goes blank and you can't think of anything, right? Yeah, I am having one of those moments...

So, I guess I'll directly dive into the review and not mull around. I bought the L'Oreal Paris Infallible Blush Paint Stick on a whim... I was out window shopping at Shoppers Stop and I just happened to glance at the L'Oreal counter and this cute little stub caught my fancy... The moment I swatched it I knew I had to buy it...

Price of L'Oreal Paris Infallible Blush Paint Stick It costs a whopping INR 999/-

There is nothing much to talk about the packaging. It is exactly what it looks like, a rotating chubby stick with a cap. The plastic doesn't seem cheap and is pretty sturdy. I have d…

REVIEW: Johnson's Baby Lotion on Adult Skin

I am itching to do some makeup EOTDs and LOTDs since a while now but with guests at home I am not getting any time... So for a while you guys are stuck with me doing reviews. Not that my reviews do not need much efforts but as compared to EOTDs and LOTDs, reviews are a little bit less demanding where time constraints are concerned... Don't you agree? :)

Today I shall be reviewing the Johnson's baby lotion and before you raise your eye brows and say to yourself "WTF" let me make it absolutely clear that I bought it when I was out of a moisturiser and needed one pronto! This was the only one available and so I just bought it. I figured if it was good for babies, how could it be bad for me? The truth? Read on ;)

Johnson's Baby Lotion is Clinically proven to be mild and mild it sure is. It has a soft and soothing fragrance, which I love. Once applied it gets absorbed really fast and does not leave a residual oiliness or greasiness. It would be perfect for normal ski…
