Beauty Essentials for Work

My desk at work hold two baskets. Once contains office supplies like whiteboard markers, pens, pencils, erasers and board pins, while the other contains a selected assortment of beauty essentials that come in handy during the day in office...
And today I plan to share it with you all :)

If you follow me on snapchat (@samyukta_islm) you'd be used to seeing bits and pieces of my desk in my various snap stories. However, I think I have never shared with you all, all the products that I generally need in a day when I am at work and hence it seemed to be the perfect time to do so now :)

So let's get started :)

1. Skin Wipes

This is probably the most multi-tasking product that can be found in a woman's handbag... Really!
Need to clean your face, wipe the pesky kohl smudge from the corner of your eye, wipe lipstick off, even just clean your hands, wet wipes or skin wipes always come to the rescue. I always have a small pack of Johnson's Baby Wipes on my desk.

2. Dry Shampoo

Now this is a staple in my bag to be honest cause you never know when you might need to fluff your hair up and strut your stuff :) Dry shampoos are not just handy with greasy hair but are also great products that can instantly add volume and texture to one's hair...
I recommend the Batiste Dry Shampoo.

3. Body Lotion

This is a no-brainer! Working in air conditioned environments can take a toll on one's skin and having it hydrated and moisturised continuously is probably the best thing you can do for your skin... I generally prefer to keep sample sized bottles of moisturisers on my desk for easy access and convenience.
Currently I have the Forest Essentials Mashorba Honey and Vanilla Body Lotion on my work desk.

4. Kohl

This is a work must-have for those who have watery eyes or eyes that cannot seem to hold kohl for very long. Having a kohl at hand ensures that with a quick touch-up every now and then your eyes are always on fleet :)
I am currently using The Body Shop Gel Pen Eyeliner.

5. Body Spray

I don't have to tell you this :D
It's always a good idea to have your perfume, body spray or mist with you because smelling beautiful is something that every woman should take seriously. There is nothing more alluring and more feminine than smelling good and fresh...
I love Green Tea scents and I always have a tube of Sephora Green Tea Body mist with me.

6. Hand Cream

If you are on my snapchat then you know for sure that I am addicted to hand creams. I have to have my hands hydrated and moisturised every minute of the day and I have at least three that I use simultaneously, one at work, one at home and one in my car :)
Check out the comparison review I did on hand creams...

7. Lipstick

This is not really essential but I tend to keep the lipstick I wore in the morning with me throughout the day in case I need or plan to touch it up. I think we all do that, don't we? ;)

8. Lip Balm

More than anything lip balms are a necessity and whatever the season we all have one tube of lip balm tucked away in all of our hand bags, don't we? :) Needless to say it's a staple on my desk at work as well.
I swear by Maybelline Baby Lips Lip Balms but I sometimes switch it up with NIVEA lip balms as well.

Cover The Cover: Harper's Bazaar (India) March 2012

You all know that I love tweaking my blog here and there and making some changes, introducing newer features and well sometimes just hooking the blog onto some social networking site :) Well this time I am introducing a new feature that I promise will be really exciting for all beauty enthusiasts :) To start with this feature is called "Cover The Cover" where I shall be covering the cover pages of our favorite beauty and fashion magazines in terms of make-up. There are times when a certain look on a celeb or a fashion mag just gets to us. Well rather than just mulling over such looks I have decided to give life to such looks (on me) and well do a kind of a faux photo shoot ;) What say? Doesn't it sound like fun? What more? You are all invited to submit your looks with a reference to which magazine and edition you are covering and I'll post it here :)

Today's look is inspired by my latest fav mag Harper's Bazaar. The March edition of Harper's Bazaar is a …

REVIEW & LOTD: Faces Long Wear Pencil in Navy Blue

While doing the "Meet The Bloggers" feature every Saturday, I have realised (and I am sure that you all have too) that Faces is fast becoming a very popular brand amongst us especially the Faces Long Wear pencils. So much so that a lot of people prefer Faces Long Wear pencils to even Colorbar I-Glides and that ladies and gentlemen is quite a feat for a newly launched brand. So anyways, I got myself a "Navy Blue" from this range and I must say that I am very happy with it. This is my second pencil from Faces after "Turquoise Blue" and well it hasn't failed me either.
This particular shade is a beautiful deep blue that looks stunning on the eye lids.

Ooooohss And Aaahhss!! 1. Really really stays on forever. 2. Doesn't smudge on my oily lids even after 8 hours of wear. 3. Friendly to the pocket 4. Faces have become quite easily available now. 5. They do not cause any allergies or reactions. 6. They are waterline safe a…

REVIEW: Johnson's Baby Lotion on Adult Skin

I am itching to do some makeup EOTDs and LOTDs since a while now but with guests at home I am not getting any time... So for a while you guys are stuck with me doing reviews. Not that my reviews do not need much efforts but as compared to EOTDs and LOTDs, reviews are a little bit less demanding where time constraints are concerned... Don't you agree? :)

Today I shall be reviewing the Johnson's baby lotion and before you raise your eye brows and say to yourself "WTF" let me make it absolutely clear that I bought it when I was out of a moisturiser and needed one pronto! This was the only one available and so I just bought it. I figured if it was good for babies, how could it be bad for me? The truth? Read on ;)

Johnson's Baby Lotion is Clinically proven to be mild and mild it sure is. It has a soft and soothing fragrance, which I love. Once applied it gets absorbed really fast and does not leave a residual oiliness or greasiness. It would be perfect for normal ski…
