Maybelline Color Show Lipstick In Choco Latte Review and Swatches!

ISLM Writer: Ishleen

Hello munchkins!
So after about 4 months with ISLM and its readers, who all can actually claim to know me or say that they know the writer behind all those desi-toned posts? So if you just thought that oh yes, she is the mad woman who is in love with her nude lipsticks; girl I love you! Like, seriously, I just fell in love with you, and ofcourse, with one more nude lipstick from the house of maybelline! You knew that was coming, right?

What does Maybelline have to say?

Maybelline Color Show Lipstick is a fashionable intense lipstick, which comes in chic to vivid shades. Maybelline Color Show Lipstick is highly pigmented giving bold lips.

Price and Quantity

INR 299 for 3.9 grams of product

Packaging wise the color show lipsticks from maybelline are very basic, but at the same time classy and sturdy! The glossy black packagiing looks no where near to cheap or anything though it is actually very cheap! And it has all the details on the base as well as a plastic coating with all the other details like ingredients list and expiry dates! Plus, it won't open on its own--so its safe!

Shade and Texture

Very honestly, I bought this lipstick just because I heard that it was a perfect nude lip colour for warm Indian skin tones! But now I know that internet can be deceptive! No, i do not mean that I do not like the shade or that it is not a perfect nude, but just for the olive to tan skin tones! The shade looks like a very pretty caramel brown with pink undertones but on my fair to medium skin tones it came out as a deep reddish-brown, or a brown with berry tones! But on deeper tones it would come out as a gorgeous soft brown!

Pigmentation and Colour Pay off

The lipstick is undoubtedly very pigmented. One swipe and the lipstick shows up in its full blown hue. One swipe gives a full blown colour but looks really natural as the shade is neutral, but it is pretty much buildable and can be worn as a sophisticated deeper nude lip shade!

Staying Power

This is one aspect which I down right hate about maybelline's color show range of lipstick is that they do not stay on the lips at all. I mean 3 hours tops, that too without food or drinks. And if you are going out to eat, then skip these color show lipsticks all together, or atleast mattify it down with a setting powder to make it stay a little bit longer. But the good part is that it does not fades evenly, and goes away all together without leaving any stains behind!

Do I Recommend?

Yes I definitely do! For the price and the shade it is a must have for Indian beauties!

Cover The Cover: Harper's Bazaar (India) March 2012

You all know that I love tweaking my blog here and there and making some changes, introducing newer features and well sometimes just hooking the blog onto some social networking site :) Well this time I am introducing a new feature that I promise will be really exciting for all beauty enthusiasts :) To start with this feature is called "Cover The Cover" where I shall be covering the cover pages of our favorite beauty and fashion magazines in terms of make-up. There are times when a certain look on a celeb or a fashion mag just gets to us. Well rather than just mulling over such looks I have decided to give life to such looks (on me) and well do a kind of a faux photo shoot ;) What say? Doesn't it sound like fun? What more? You are all invited to submit your looks with a reference to which magazine and edition you are covering and I'll post it here :)

Today's look is inspired by my latest fav mag Harper's Bazaar. The March edition of Harper's Bazaar is a …

REVIEW & LOTD: Faces Long Wear Pencil in Navy Blue

While doing the "Meet The Bloggers" feature every Saturday, I have realised (and I am sure that you all have too) that Faces is fast becoming a very popular brand amongst us especially the Faces Long Wear pencils. So much so that a lot of people prefer Faces Long Wear pencils to even Colorbar I-Glides and that ladies and gentlemen is quite a feat for a newly launched brand. So anyways, I got myself a "Navy Blue" from this range and I must say that I am very happy with it. This is my second pencil from Faces after "Turquoise Blue" and well it hasn't failed me either.
This particular shade is a beautiful deep blue that looks stunning on the eye lids.

REVIEW: Johnson's Baby Lotion on Adult Skin

I am itching to do some makeup EOTDs and LOTDs since a while now but with guests at home I am not getting any time... So for a while you guys are stuck with me doing reviews. Not that my reviews do not need much efforts but as compared to EOTDs and LOTDs, reviews are a little bit less demanding where time constraints are concerned... Don't you agree? :)

Today I shall be reviewing the Johnson's baby lotion and before you raise your eye brows and say to yourself "WTF" let me make it absolutely clear that I bought it when I was out of a moisturiser and needed one pronto! This was the only one available and so I just bought it. I figured if it was good for babies, how could it be bad for me? The truth? Read on ;)

Johnson's Baby Lotion is Clinically proven to be mild and mild it sure is. It has a soft and soothing fragrance, which I love. Once applied it gets absorbed really fast and does not leave a residual oiliness or greasiness. It would be perfect for normal ski…
