Wearing Makeup to the Gym

Before the skincare Nazis descend upon me let me just say that I don't recommend wearing makeup to the gym but well for some of us, no makeup just can't do :) I am talking about the times when you need to impress that hottie in the gym or when you want to catch the instructor's eye or when you just want to wear makeup to feel good about yourself... Whatever the reasons trust me I have been there and hence I have come up with my Gym Makeup Kit that does not compromise on my skincare and yet makes me look all put together when I am sweating it out :P

So let's get started...

Makeup Products NOT to Wear to the Gym

1. Complexion Enhancers

Foundations, compact powders, BB creams and any other complexion enhancing products are huge no-no... Trust me they are the worst products to have on your skin while you are working out cause they end up clogging your pores resulting in you not being able to sweat out and thus make your skin prone to breakouts and even raging faster.

2. Liquid/Gel Liners

This is easy... Avoid liquid liners or anything black that may "run" to simply avoid raccoon eyes... Lets be real here, if we really do plan to work out and sweat it out then there will be sweat and if there is sweat, there will be wiping off the sweat and well we don't want our liquid liners to run and  have them streaked all over our faces or worse have them create an illusion of dark circles... You get my point, don't you? :)

3. Blush

Oh please! You don't need a blush in the gym! Working out gives you a natural blush silly! Plus I try avoiding anything on the skin while working out...

4. Lipstick & Lip Gloss

Lipsticks and lip glosses might not really get in your work out and they won't really clog your pores or create havoc with your skin per se but I feel wearing a hippie to gym is just plain weird... I mean I really do look at women who wear a bright shade of color on their lips in the gym... It just seems wrong...

Makeup Products OK to Wear to the Gym

1. Deodorant

Now this is a no-brainer, isn't it :) It not only has you smelling good but good quality deodorants actually help you keep fresh and suppress body odour... I don't really recommend using the "whitening" deodorants cause they tend to create a film of white powder and that would again end up clogging pores but the non-whitening ones are good to go...

2. Waterproof Mascara

This is my favourite... Mascaras are a God-sent and they genuinely give a finishing touch to your whole look without looking OTT. Waterproof mascaras obviously do not run or smudge and yet have your eyes look "open" and beautiful.

3. Kajal or Kohl

This is optional and completely depends on how you apply it... If you are comfortable wearing it just on your waterline then go right ahead but if you like to go all out and extend the kajal to and below the lash line then you may want to skip it as it may end up giving you raccoon eyes due to all the sweating...

4. Eyebrow Pencil

I don't go anywhere without doing my brows and I would advice you guys the same... All makeup products on one side and your eyebrow kit on the other... The thing is even if you don't wear any makeup, if you just do your brows, it transforms you and you end up look naturally put together.

5. Tinted Lip Balm

So what if you avoid lipsticks and lip glosses, tinted lip balms come to your rescue. They not only impart a subtle tinge of color to your lips while keeping them hydrated and moisturised. Its like skincare with gymming and yet making your lips plump, tinted and beautiful :)

REVIEW: Johnson's Baby Lotion on Adult Skin

I am itching to do some makeup EOTDs and LOTDs since a while now but with guests at home I am not getting any time... So for a while you guys are stuck with me doing reviews. Not that my reviews do not need much efforts but as compared to EOTDs and LOTDs, reviews are a little bit less demanding where time constraints are concerned... Don't you agree? :)

Today I shall be reviewing the Johnson's baby lotion and before you raise your eye brows and say to yourself "WTF" let me make it absolutely clear that I bought it when I was out of a moisturiser and needed one pronto! This was the only one available and so I just bought it. I figured if it was good for babies, how could it be bad for me? The truth? Read on ;)

Johnson's Baby Lotion is Clinically proven to be mild and mild it sure is. It has a soft and soothing fragrance, which I love. Once applied it gets absorbed really fast and does not leave a residual oiliness or greasiness. It would be perfect for normal ski…

Review of MAC Studio Fix Fluid Foundation In Shade NC42

Guest Post By: Rmyah

There are days when I just cannot help look at myself through any reflective surface that I can. Be it mirrors, glass doors, rear view mirrors, the back of a spoon and even a pond. And then there are days when I wished everyone was blind, every mirror shattered, the serene water turbulent, anything to avoid me seeing my face. One such day when my skin was going through a blearrrgh phase I decided to put my face on the web and show you how I deal with it. My savior is the MAC studio fix fluid foundation which has been my HG foundation for about three months now.

Makeup Class: Difference Between A Bronzer, A Highlighter, An Illuminator & A Brightener

Bronzer Vs Highlighter Vs Illuminator Vs Brightener

Very often than not being a beauty blogger I come across the terms Bronzer, Highlighter, Brightener and Illuminator at least a dozen times a day. These terms are everywhere and people use them in their daily conversation with so much confidence that you'd be surprised at how wrong many of them are in their usages. Oh! Yes even I have made mistakes in the past about their connotations and today armed with research, experiments and well just plain analysis I have reached a consensus where I can now confidently put forth the results of my hard work...

Yes, today ladies and gentlemen, I shall be clearing all the confusion that prevails behind Bronzers, Highlighters, Illuminators and Brighteners!
