Elle 18 Color Boost Lipstick In Superlicious Red Review and Swatches!

Elle 18 Color Boost Lipstick In Superlicious Red Review and Swatches!

ISLM Writer: Ishleen

Hello Munchkins!
The weather in delhi is so crappy at the moment, but there are a certain few things which can always make me smile! One such mood uplifter for me is lipstick, and if the lipstick fares well despite being from a drugstore brand and is actually cheap indeed takes my mood from drab to fab! And by the title you guys must have guessed what today's post is all about, so without much ado let us dig into the details about this littloe gorgeous baby!

Price and Quantity

INR 150 for 4.3 ml of product!

What does Elle 18 have to say?

With its special dual core lipstick format, Elle 18 Colour Boost gives you 6 hours of non-stop lip colour! Enjoy its creamy, soft texture enriched with extra moisturizing cocoa butter in 10 amazing shades. Pout non-stop with Colour Boost’s non-stop lip drama!

Elle 18 has always packaged its lipsticks keeping in mind the quirky girl inside every woman, or as people see it, the packaging aims towards a teen-centric market! But nonetheless, the packaging is extremely cute, with a pink outer case which has cute girly imprints on it and a black bullet! One thing which I hate about elle 18 lipsticks packaging is the fact that they are damn cheap and not at all sturdy! I mean they open themselves and have the potential to ruin your makeup vanity by just being there! So this lipstick cannot be carried along for touch ups!

The shade Superlicious Red is indeed a very yummy pink based red which looks so pretty on my NC 40-42 skin! I mean it is a warm, pink toned red which leans more towards a deep pink than a bright red! So for all those afraid to adorn their bold red pout, Elle 18 Superlicious red is the way to ease into wearing red lipsticks!

Texture wise the colorboost lipsticks are creamy, I mean a bit too creamy for my taste, but if you love your lipsticks creamy and hydrating, then you are going to love it! But as per my personal choice the texture is too thick and creamy, and with the balmy centre in each bullet, the texture becomes all the more creamy! I personally like to wear it patted down with a thin layer of powder just to mattify it a bit and also to make it stay put for longer.

Pigmentation and Coverage

For a lipstick that retails for a meagre 150 bucks, the pigmentation is bomb! I eman just two swipes and you have the full blown colour on the lips which can be undoubtedly built up as well as toned down according to preference. The lipstick is not at all sheer and covers all lip imperfections pretty well!

  1. Extremely cheap
  2. Cute Pink packaging
  3. Super Gorgeous shade
  4. Hydrating
  5. Goes on super smooth
  6. Does not settle into lip lines
  7. Fades evenly and leaves a slight tint behind after 3-4 hours
  8. Colour can be built up or toned down
  9. Bang on pigmentation and coverage

  1. Packaging is not at all sturdy or reliable
  2. Cannot be carried around for touch ups
  3. Extremely creamy, may even melt in heat
  4. Does not stay any longer than 3-4 hours

Final Verdict

For 150 bucks, you cannot go wrong with a pink based red lipstick which can be mattified and of which the colour pigmentation can be adjusted as per your choices!

Overall Rating

  1. Lovely review and LOTD. I have 2 of these and love them, I mean they are just 150bucks and works as good as 500 buck lipsticks :)

Cover The Cover: Harper's Bazaar (India) March 2012

You all know that I love tweaking my blog here and there and making some changes, introducing newer features and well sometimes just hooking the blog onto some social networking site :) Well this time I am introducing a new feature that I promise will be really exciting for all beauty enthusiasts :) To start with this feature is called "Cover The Cover" where I shall be covering the cover pages of our favorite beauty and fashion magazines in terms of make-up. There are times when a certain look on a celeb or a fashion mag just gets to us. Well rather than just mulling over such looks I have decided to give life to such looks (on me) and well do a kind of a faux photo shoot ;) What say? Doesn't it sound like fun? What more? You are all invited to submit your looks with a reference to which magazine and edition you are covering and I'll post it here :)

Today's look is inspired by my latest fav mag Harper's Bazaar. The March edition of Harper's Bazaar is a …

REVIEW & LOTD: Faces Long Wear Pencil in Navy Blue

While doing the "Meet The Bloggers" feature every Saturday, I have realised (and I am sure that you all have too) that Faces is fast becoming a very popular brand amongst us especially the Faces Long Wear pencils. So much so that a lot of people prefer Faces Long Wear pencils to even Colorbar I-Glides and that ladies and gentlemen is quite a feat for a newly launched brand. So anyways, I got myself a "Navy Blue" from this range and I must say that I am very happy with it. This is my second pencil from Faces after "Turquoise Blue" and well it hasn't failed me either.
This particular shade is a beautiful deep blue that looks stunning on the eye lids.

REVIEW: Johnson's Baby Lotion on Adult Skin

I am itching to do some makeup EOTDs and LOTDs since a while now but with guests at home I am not getting any time... So for a while you guys are stuck with me doing reviews. Not that my reviews do not need much efforts but as compared to EOTDs and LOTDs, reviews are a little bit less demanding where time constraints are concerned... Don't you agree? :)

Today I shall be reviewing the Johnson's baby lotion and before you raise your eye brows and say to yourself "WTF" let me make it absolutely clear that I bought it when I was out of a moisturiser and needed one pronto! This was the only one available and so I just bought it. I figured if it was good for babies, how could it be bad for me? The truth? Read on ;)

Johnson's Baby Lotion is Clinically proven to be mild and mild it sure is. It has a soft and soothing fragrance, which I love. Once applied it gets absorbed really fast and does not leave a residual oiliness or greasiness. It would be perfect for normal ski…
