REVIEW: Maybelline Matte & Poreless Fit Me Foundation

REVIEW: Maybelline Matte & Poreless Fit Me Foundation

The day I received the Maybelline Matte and Powerless Fit Me Foundation, I was in two minds... I am not a huge fan of drugstore foundations and so I wasn't sure what really to expect... Additionally, it was labelled as something for Normal to Oily skin and hence I concluded that it would not work on my dry skin.

However, I had been hearing such rave reviews about it that I was tempted to give it shot. The first time I applied the foundation I was surprised to see how well it adapted to my skin type and in no time made it look like I was not wearing any foundation at all... I was intrigued and I wore it every single for the next whole week... Needless to say I was hooked!

Price of Maybelline Matte & Powerless Fit Me Foundation

It costs INR 525/-

It comes in a very heavy and an impressive glass bottle with a screw on black coloured cap. It looks expensive and good quality and it really looks pretty... Of course, if the people at Maybelline had added a pump dispenser then the packaging would have been perfect... But well, the absence of it is not really a deal-breaker per se.

Texture & Coverage

Texture wise the Maybelline Matte & Powerless Fit Me Foundation is watery and yet provides medium coverage. I expected the foundation to be creamy but it isn't really... It applies evenly and blends very easily. It doesn't dry up immediately and hence is very easy to work with. I tried applying this foundation using both a beauty sponge as well as a stippling brush and I found using the stippling brush a better option.

Finish & Staying Power

The Maybelline Fit Me Foundation gives a smooth and a matte finish and since I have dry skin I did not even have to top it up with powder. And still it stayed on me for the whole evening that consisted of taking part in a fashion show and an hour of continuous dancing on some awesome music belted out by a DJ. The foundation did not budge and did not even make me greasy! It certainly is very impressive.
Another point to note here is that the foundation made my skin really smooth and flawless almost as if I had applied airbrush makeup :)

Will Maybelline Fit Me Foundation Suit Dry Skin?

I have dry skin and it suited me perfectly. Of course, I needed to apply a thick face cream underneath the foundation and I did not top it with powder.
My skin did not feel dry or stretched and the foundation did not accentuate any dry patches either.

Overall Rating:

I would whole-heartedly recommend this foundation. It is affordable, mattifying (perfect for the upcoming Summers) and gives a smooth finish. However, I did notice getting a few pimples and eruptions a couple of times when I applied this foundation.

  1. When I saw your post on Fb, I wanted to read the review.. I too have dry skin.. So I guess this one would work on my skin.. I am hearing a lot of good reviews about this one..

    1. I know right!!! I had a similar concern regarding dry skin... But I see that it works just fine with a heavy moisturiser underneath :) Plus don't apply powder over the foundation... Hope you like it as much as I did :)

  2. I got this one and have been loving it as well. By the way, did you experience oxidation?

    1. uh oh... I did not experience any oxidation ya, did you?

REVIEW: Johnson's Baby Lotion on Adult Skin

I am itching to do some makeup EOTDs and LOTDs since a while now but with guests at home I am not getting any time... So for a while you guys are stuck with me doing reviews. Not that my reviews do not need much efforts but as compared to EOTDs and LOTDs, reviews are a little bit less demanding where time constraints are concerned... Don't you agree? :) Today I shall be reviewing the Johnson's baby lotion and before you raise your eye brows and say to yourself "WTF" let me make it absolutely clear that I bought it when I was out of a moisturiser and needed one pronto! This was the only one available and so I just bought it. I figured if it was good for babies, how could it be bad for me? The truth? Read on ;) Johnson's Baby Lotion is Clinically proven to be mild and mild it sure is. It has a soft and soothing fragrance, which I love. Once applied it gets absorbed really fast and does not leave a residual oiliness or greasiness. It would be perfect for normal

Changes in my Skincare and Fitness Perspective Post 30

Changes in my Skincare and Fitness Perspective Post 30 #Adulting One early morning while I was sipping an exceptionally strong cup of coffee and introspecting I identified a few lifestyle changes that I had incorporated in the past year or so. On further retrospection I realised that these changes were a part of what I perceived would be good for me in the long run... When did I start thinking about my health in the future? When did I start worrying about how my skin would be 10 years down the line? OMG was I #Adulting? Is this even the correct usage of the latest hashtag?

Makeup Class: Difference Between A Bronzer, A Highlighter, An Illuminator & A Brightener

Bronzer Vs Highlighter Vs Illuminator Vs Brightener  Very often than not being a beauty blogger I come across the terms Bronzer, Highlighter, Brightener and Illuminator at least a dozen times a day. These terms are everywhere and people use them in their daily conversation with so much confidence that you'd be surprised at how wrong many of them are in their usages. Oh! Yes even I have made mistakes in the past about their connotations and today armed with research, experiments and well just plain analysis I have reached a consensus where I can now confidently put forth the results of my hard work... Yes, today ladies and gentlemen, I shall be clearing all the confusion that prevails behind Bronzers, Highlighters, Illuminators and Brighteners!
