Maybelline Color Sensational Lip Polish in Glam 1 Review and Swatches!

Maybelline Color Sensational Lip Polish in Glam 1 Review and Swatches!

ISLM Writer: Ishleen

Hello sweeties!
Remember the last time I was raving mad about how Samyukta has been spoiling me with all these make-up goodies in the name of Make-up Testing? So yes, I have one more tried and tested product review for you guys today! Honestly, if I were to buy it, I would generally skip any sort of glosses, as I am an ardent matte lip lover! But here lies the beauty of working with distinct personalities, you get to explore! So without going much into personal details, lets straight away get to the review!

What Does Maybelline Have To Say?

For glossy, plump lips, choose Maybelline’s Lip Polish by Color Sensational.
Featuring glossy, vivid colors that also have a moisturizing effect, this lip polish makes your lips look fuller and more luscious. Dress your lips in a shade you love and watch heads turn!

Here’s why you’ll love it!

• Has pure, saturated color pigments that provide deep intense colour
• Acts as a moisturizing liquid conditioning balm
• Gives a soft cushiony feel to the lips
• Features a built-in glossy top-coat that makes lips look fuller
• Comes with a specially designed leaf-shaped applicator for quick, precise application

These little babies come in their look-a-like traditional lip gloss packagings with a plastic body, silver glossy caps and the shade numbers along with the manufacturing dates written on the bottom! One thing which I love about the packaging is the super compact size and the sturdy cap which wouldn't just come off in your purse and is super easy to carry around for touch ups! Even the leaf-shaped applicator makes it super convenient to fill in the lip lines with the gloss! Neat, isn't it?

Price and Quantity

Maybelline has always won hearts with amazing products which retail at minimal prices and have whopping grams of product! Even the lip polishes sell at just 450 INR for a good 5 ml of product, which is a steal, specially when we look at the quality!

Shade and Fragrance

I have always had a love-hate kind of relationship with overly sweet scented lip glosses, and I am really thankful to maybelline for coming up with a fragrance-free product; sparing me the ordeal of having to channel my feelings in one specific direction! As for the shade, Glam 1 is a nice neutral, peachy kind of shade with loads of golden toned shimmers! Being a matte lover, I am not a big fan of either glosses or shimmers, but this shade is quite pretty as a daily wear shade for college going girls!

Texture and Moisturisation

Maybelline had this whole hype about the lip polishes being a lip stick and balm hybrid so I expect high dose of moisture from the product, and fairly enough, the Lip Polishes do not disappoint me! As per the texture, the polishes indeed feel buttery on the lips and despite of the shimmer laden product, it does not feel scratchy on the lips! Very comfortable to wear and is neither too gloopy, nor too runny! Just the perfect buttery, balmy kind of texture which does not feel sticky on the lips!

Pigmentation and Coverage

Being a nude shade gloss, this one does lack on the pigmentation aspect! If worn alone it does not cover up any sort of pigmentation or dark lines on the lips and looks like just a plain old shimmery lip balm! So basically it lacks in the pigmentation part but that is quite acceptable for a nude lip gloss! Atop lipsticks or even creamy lip liners it shows up so much better, but I have worn it all alone in the picture so that you guys can have an idea of the actual shade!

Staying Power

An average Lip Gloss does not make it on me for more than 2, 3 hours tops! And this also did the same! Atop my lip liners it stays for a good 3 hours but on its own it cant stay for any longer than 2 hours! Plus, the shimmers get left behind on the lips which irks me! I mean i tried removing it with a makeup wipe and the colour did got off, but the shimmers were a trouble for me! Big no!

Overall Rating

Final Recommendation

If you are on the look out for a sheer, daily wear nudy-peach gloss with ample shimmers; Glam 1 is the product for you! But if you are more of a long-staying lip product lover like me, skip this totally!

So now that we know the Lip Polish in and out, I guess we are sorted here! But if you try any of the lip polish shades, do let us know how you like it?

  1. I have kind of stopped using gloss these days as they can be a bit annoying after a while on your lips.. I prefer soft matte lipsticks these days. Nicely reviewed Ishleen..

  2. Lovely product. You can visit:

  3. Nice review Ishleen. I too feel that glosses are over hyped, I will prefer sheer lipsticks to glosses any time!

  4. Nice review! I have it in the shade pop5 which is very less pigmented :( I use it as a transparent layer gloss above lip liners or matte lipsticks :| New Velvet matte lipcolors are way better than this :)

REVIEW: Johnson's Baby Lotion on Adult Skin

I am itching to do some makeup EOTDs and LOTDs since a while now but with guests at home I am not getting any time... So for a while you guys are stuck with me doing reviews. Not that my reviews do not need much efforts but as compared to EOTDs and LOTDs, reviews are a little bit less demanding where time constraints are concerned... Don't you agree? :)

Today I shall be reviewing the Johnson's baby lotion and before you raise your eye brows and say to yourself "WTF" let me make it absolutely clear that I bought it when I was out of a moisturiser and needed one pronto! This was the only one available and so I just bought it. I figured if it was good for babies, how could it be bad for me? The truth? Read on ;)

Johnson's Baby Lotion is Clinically proven to be mild and mild it sure is. It has a soft and soothing fragrance, which I love. Once applied it gets absorbed really fast and does not leave a residual oiliness or greasiness. It would be perfect for normal ski…

Review of L'Oreal Paris Infallible Blush Paint Longwear High Impact Stick - Fuchsia Fame
Right now am sitting at the dining table trying to figure out a way to start this post in an "interesting" way... I am obviously struggling... There are these times when your mind just goes blank and you can't think of anything, right? Yeah, I am having one of those moments...

So, I guess I'll directly dive into the review and not mull around. I bought the L'Oreal Paris Infallible Blush Paint Stick on a whim... I was out window shopping at Shoppers Stop and I just happened to glance at the L'Oreal counter and this cute little stub caught my fancy... The moment I swatched it I knew I had to buy it...

Price of L'Oreal Paris Infallible Blush Paint Stick It costs a whopping INR 999/-

There is nothing much to talk about the packaging. It is exactly what it looks like, a rotating chubby stick with a cap. The plastic doesn't seem cheap and is pretty sturdy. I have d…

How I Wear My Denim Jacket To Be In Trend for 2018

How I Wear My Denim Jacket To Be In Trend for 2018 Denim is forever. It's versatility makes it a classic and in the form of a jacket it not just looks dapper and en vogue but is also comfortable and convenient... I love denim jackets because they are perfect for Pune's so called Winters and because they are the best accessories for any kind of outfit...

Going through some of the Fall Winter 2017-18 collections from the likes of Calvin Klein, Christian Dior and Stella McCartney, denim on denim seemed to be the trend in boxy and boyish silhouettes. I am not a very big fan of denim and denim and hence I prefer to pair my boxy denim jacket with a flowy, floral dress that makes the look strike a balance between feminine and androgynous.
