Makeup Essentials Guide For College Going Girls!

ISLM Writer: Ishleen

Hello my sweetards!
How is your beauty obsession working for you? Mine has been going pretty steady lately, with so many products to be tested and all! But leaving that aside, since the time I have started gaining the teensy bit recognition as a beauty blogger, all my college friends, juniors, colleagues and acquaintances who are even remotely interested in makeup flogging me with all sorts of questions regarding what makeup to use which will actually look good on our age groups and all! So here is it for all you friends out there, who need to know the quintessential makeup guide for the college going girls!

So I will start from the base to the coloured makeup, and exclude skincare products from this list! But if you want a skincare essentials as well, you know who to ask! So scroll on guys!

BB and CC Creams

At the age of 18-24 ours is relatively new, younger skin and we do not need to hide it beneath tons of base makeup! And even if you want to wear foundations, you obviously can but college is a place for light coverage base as you want to look fresh, dewy and young, not caked up beneath a thick layer of foundation! Personally I adore my share of BB and CC creams, and they are my go to for daily makeup looks! Nor are they too thick, neither do they give much coverage and are easy to apply even with fingers!

Though this product right here is totally optional, and depends more on how much scars and blemishes you may have on your skin--and more than that how concious you are of those beauty marks on your face! So given that you are comfortable in your skin and do not care much to hide any blemishes, yet you want that little something, go for medium coverage concealers! The best bet for college going girls would be the Maybelline BB stick though, it covers conceals and can also double up as a medium coverage BB cream!

Compact Powders

This is the number one product which every girl needs even if they chose to skip concealers, BB creams and other base products! And with the summer months coming up, compact powders become all the more necessary to keep that shiny streak off your face! If you get oily, or sweat a lot like me, such powders can come in very handy to keep the skin in check! And with tons of budget optioons available in India, cost is no problem really!

Kohl Pencils

We Indians love our kajal pencils and more than that we love our gorgeous eyes to be lined with thick kohl! A nicely applied Kohl can undoubtedly give so much more depth and definition to the eyes, and is a must for college girls! But try investing in a good, water-proof, smudge-proof and long lasting kajal as a smudged kajal until and unless intentional never looks good!

Coloured Eyeliners

There are a certain few special days in college when a basic black kajal and eyeliner look just won't do the job well, and on such days your blues, greens, browns, grays and purples come into work! Brown eyes look especially gorgeous in blues and purples as well as greens and browns! whereas, hazel or dark brownish-black eyes look fabulous in navy and grays! So go stock up on those!

Waterproof Mascara

Let those lashes flutter baby! I love my lashes thick, full, long, luscious and fluttery and I guess, so do you! And if there is one thing I cannot even think of missing is my mascara! Even if you decide to skip on any eye makeup for the day, just a couple swipes of mascara and you are good to go! trust me, you will look fresher and more awake! pretty, pretty!

Lip Balms

In my intital days of makeup and college, I was a kajal and lip balm person strictly and I still feel that tinted lip balms are the perfect answer for daily college makeup looks! Load up on as many tinted lip balms as you can, they keep your lips nourished, decrease the parched look and makes the whole look healthy and fresh! Although if you are keen to apply more colour on the lips you can always try a few nude browns or neutral pinks which are sheer enough to suit the day time college look and looks really natural as well!

So here is our go-to list for the quintessential makeup products for college going girls! Which ones do you love the most, let us know in the comments section below!

Makeup Class: Difference Between A Bronzer, A Highlighter, An Illuminator & A Brightener

Bronzer Vs Highlighter Vs Illuminator Vs Brightener

Very often than not being a beauty blogger I come across the terms Bronzer, Highlighter, Brightener and Illuminator at least a dozen times a day. These terms are everywhere and people use them in their daily conversation with so much confidence that you'd be surprised at how wrong many of them are in their usages. Oh! Yes even I have made mistakes in the past about their connotations and today armed with research, experiments and well just plain analysis I have reached a consensus where I can now confidently put forth the results of my hard work...

Yes, today ladies and gentlemen, I shall be clearing all the confusion that prevails behind Bronzers, Highlighters, Illuminators and Brighteners!

REVIEW: Johnson's Baby Lotion on Adult Skin

I am itching to do some makeup EOTDs and LOTDs since a while now but with guests at home I am not getting any time... So for a while you guys are stuck with me doing reviews. Not that my reviews do not need much efforts but as compared to EOTDs and LOTDs, reviews are a little bit less demanding where time constraints are concerned... Don't you agree? :)

Today I shall be reviewing the Johnson's baby lotion and before you raise your eye brows and say to yourself "WTF" let me make it absolutely clear that I bought it when I was out of a moisturiser and needed one pronto! This was the only one available and so I just bought it. I figured if it was good for babies, how could it be bad for me? The truth? Read on ;)

Johnson's Baby Lotion is Clinically proven to be mild and mild it sure is. It has a soft and soothing fragrance, which I love. Once applied it gets absorbed really fast and does not leave a residual oiliness or greasiness. It would be perfect for normal ski…

10 Sexist Remarks We Women Tend To Ignore (But Shouldn't!)
This post has been long due...

Every now and then I come across a sexist remark, sometimes intentional, sometimes not and it makes want to write about it... But life happens, I push the remark to the back burner just the way we are conditioned to in order to prevent a confrontation or more likely to "free" our minds for more "important" things and hence the "writing" never happens...
