Mac Vegas Volt Lipstick Review and Swatches

Mac Vegas Volt Lipstick Review and Swatches

ISLM Writer: Nimisha

How we all wish to swear by certain things we love, yet we come across some beauties that steal our hearts away once again. Just to ascertain that I talk of materialistic things only when I mention this. Well, enough of flirting around, warm regards my lovely ladies, today I talk of one of the most loved lipstick that I own, Vegas Volt by MAC. Being an ardent lippy addict, I have tons of lipstick in my stash, and yet I get gravitated to this very lipstick.

As I introduce you to my lippy of the day, let me tell you lovelies that MAC describes this beauty as 'full power coral'.

This marvel currently retails at Rs. 1450.

It is a beautiful coral with a hint of orange from the amplified crème range. This is a color that instantly brightens the face and screams 'SUMMER'. Being highly pigmented, it imparts full intensity in just one clean swipe. It leaves a soft glossy finish on the lipstick.

For the packaging, MAC lipsticks are trademarked with their signature black bullet with the color and the texture mentioned at the bottom. Hence, nothing new there :P

It has a vanilla fragrance that is classic for all MAC lippies.

Coming to the one thing that steals the thunder for this marvellous lipstick is the fact that it tends to settle in the lip lines. So, this make hydrated lips a must for this lipstick to impart its true beauty.

This would look stunning on fair to medium toned beauties. For deeper toned babes, it can be a tricky shade to carry, so I would suggest them to check out how it looks on you before you go ahead and add this to your kitty.

Plus:

Beautiful shade with a glossy finish.
Does not dry out the lips.

Minus:

Needs hydrated lips for seamless finished look.
Pricing is a bit steep.

Would definitely repurchase this one! I absolutely find no reason not to :)

  2. The shade looks beautiful on you. The only issue I face with Mac lipsticks is that I find them a bit drying on my lips.I have few and somehow the formula does not work with my lips.

    1. Thanks :)

For if you find MAC lipsticks a bit drying, you can applying lip chap (aka balm) before applying the lipstick and blot the excess balm just prior to application. Moreover, the Retro Matte/Matte are usually drying. The Amplified Creme as well as lustre ranges should not be so troublesome. Do give them a try. :)

Cover The Cover: Harper's Bazaar (India) March 2012

You all know that I love tweaking my blog here and there and making some changes, introducing newer features and well sometimes just hooking the blog onto some social networking site :) Well this time I am introducing a new feature that I promise will be really exciting for all beauty enthusiasts :) To start with this feature is called "Cover The Cover" where I shall be covering the cover pages of our favorite beauty and fashion magazines in terms of make-up. There are times when a certain look on a celeb or a fashion mag just gets to us. Well rather than just mulling over such looks I have decided to give life to such looks (on me) and well do a kind of a faux photo shoot ;) What say? Doesn't it sound like fun? What more? You are all invited to submit your looks with a reference to which magazine and edition you are covering and I'll post it here :)

Today's look is inspired by my latest fav mag Harper's Bazaar. The March edition of Harper's Bazaar is a …

REVIEW & LOTD: Faces Long Wear Pencil in Navy Blue

While doing the "Meet The Bloggers" feature every Saturday, I have realised (and I am sure that you all have too) that Faces is fast becoming a very popular brand amongst us especially the Faces Long Wear pencils. So much so that a lot of people prefer Faces Long Wear pencils to even Colorbar I-Glides and that ladies and gentlemen is quite a feat for a newly launched brand. So anyways, I got myself a "Navy Blue" from this range and I must say that I am very happy with it. This is my second pencil from Faces after "Turquoise Blue" and well it hasn't failed me either.
This particular shade is a beautiful deep blue that looks stunning on the eye lids.

Ooooohss And Aaahhss!! 1. Really really stays on forever. 2. Doesn't smudge on my oily lids even after 8 hours of wear. 3. Friendly to the pocket 4. Faces have become quite easily available now. 5. They do not cause any allergies or reactions. 6. They are waterline safe a…

REVIEW: Johnson's Baby Lotion on Adult Skin

I am itching to do some makeup EOTDs and LOTDs since a while now but with guests at home I am not getting any time... So for a while you guys are stuck with me doing reviews. Not that my reviews do not need much efforts but as compared to EOTDs and LOTDs, reviews are a little bit less demanding where time constraints are concerned... Don't you agree? :)

Today I shall be reviewing the Johnson's baby lotion and before you raise your eye brows and say to yourself "WTF" let me make it absolutely clear that I bought it when I was out of a moisturiser and needed one pronto! This was the only one available and so I just bought it. I figured if it was good for babies, how could it be bad for me? The truth? Read on ;)

Johnson's Baby Lotion is Clinically proven to be mild and mild it sure is. It has a soft and soothing fragrance, which I love. Once applied it gets absorbed really fast and does not leave a residual oiliness or greasiness. It would be perfect for normal ski…
