Just Herbs Rejuvenating Beauty Elixir Facial Serum with Gotukola and Indian Ginseng Review!

ISLM Writer: Ishleen

Hello there gorgeous!
The Holiday season has begun, and winters to me mean a transition from super oily to super dry—and even flaky at times—skin, and it is not the best feeling to prance out at the festivities, I swear! And if you have been following me lately, I have been on a skincare review spree, and yes, as promised I bring to you only the most beloved of my products, one that actually did me good—and here I come with another of my super amazing baby which did not fail to impress me in any aspect!

Ok, when was the last time you received something and you felt like “Man, why did I not try this before”? does not happen much with me to be honest, but when I say it did happen; you need to trust me that the product indeed did sweep me off my feet! So I did receive this gorgeous little baby in one of my fab bag’s and trust me, I wasn’t the most excited to try it out! But only after I had devoured it and felt the amazing improvement in my skin, that I reordered one for my mom too! But yeah, mom being mom—no time for a proper skin care regime—the baby is back to its proud owner—me! :P
So layering my hyper-active excitement, let’s get to work!

How I met this one-darling-of-a-product?

As I said, I did not purchase the first bottle on my own--I got it in one of my fab bags, because, priorities!  I was not going to shell out 1000 bucks for a product I wasn’t even sure if I was going to love! And here is where these subscription bags come in so freaking handy—you get to try products before you actually splurge! And just so you know this tiny 12 ml bottle of Beauty Elixir Facial Serum retails for a good 985 bucks! *ouch* But serums are generally retailed at somewhat same prices and this being totally organic and natural and all that jazz, is totally justified for the price!

What does Just Herbs claims about its star product?

This multi-tasking night serum is a synergistic blend of treasured Indian herbs to nourish and restore a natural glow and youthfulness to tired, ageing and pigmented skin. Plant polyphenols, carotenoids and flavonoids present in these precious botanicals prevent and reverse free-radical and DNA damage and block the inflammatory changes that result during the skin ageing process.

Gotukola and Indian Ginseng are considered Sāttvik (most pure, closest to nature) and Varnya Dravyas ( colour and complexion promoters) in ancient Ayurvedic texts and are known to make skin youthful.

Gotukola (Chinese name meaning “fountain of youth”) or Brahmi aka Brahma-Manduki (Ayurvedic names used in India) has been the centerpiece of plant based medical systems across the world for thousands of years. It is listed among the “miracle elixirs of life” and according to a legend; this herb helped a famous sage live past 200.

Indian Ginseng or Ashwagandha in this fast-absorbing , light-textured skin potion is a potent antioxidant and immunomodulator with anti-inflammatory properties. In synergy with other plant nutrients it helps boost collagen-synthesis, cell renewal & tissue repair thus diminishing fine lines, spots and signs of photo-ageing.

Cold pressed oils of Rosehips, Wheatgerm, Safflower and Moringa seeds are natural sources of Vitamins C, E and A while  extracts of Indian Senna are a botanical alternative to Hyaluronic Acid ( for fine-line filling and intense  moisturisation).

Suits all skin types
Free from petrochemicals, parabens, SLS/SLES PEG/PPG, Genetically modified ingredients (GMO) and other synthetic ingredients
15 ml

How do I use it?

Initially I thought that I would be using it as a spot treatment for my acne, scars and blemishes—but upon second thoughts, why to keep the rest of my face abstained from the goodness of this serum? So I started using it as a follow up to my toner and a preliminary to my heavy duty night cream! I prefer to limit this serum to night time only because of its funny smell! No, it does not particularly smell weird or obnoxious—it is more of an undetectable herbal kind of a fragrance, which is really a good thing because it is a full and final proof that it is free of any sort of added fragrances aka chemicals!

How does it feel on my skin?

To be honest, I hare products which feel heavy on my skin—except those heavy duty night creams—that I feel are crucial for your skin to rejuvenate and replenish overnight! And this serum again, does not feel even an itsy-bitsy bit sticky on the skin! Instead it has more of a watery base and is on the runny side! The serum does blend in really well with the skin and does not need to be circulated or massaged into the skin much! It feels like it penetrates quite deep into the skin and gets soaked up pretty instantly! Nothing like the stickiness or oiliness that my prior serums used to give me!

  1. Too classy a packaging
  2. The dropper mechanism makes the product quite hygienic
  3. The glass body though not the most sturdiest) is really attractive
  4. The product is free from any sort of added fragrances and chemicals
  5. Gets absorbed into the skin pretty nicely
  6. Does not feel sticky or heavy after application
  7. Can be used both as spot treatment and as an overall nightly serum
  8. Can be mixed with your moisturiser to boost up its goodness
  9. Gradually effectively cures the skin of dark spots, blemishes and uneven skin
  10. Needs regular use in order to cure acne and such scarring

  1. A bit pricey for the quantity
  2. Smells funny (but not bad)

Will I repurchase?

I already did, and will do it again when I run out of my two bottles!

Will I recommend it?

 Hell, yes!

That is pretty much it for this review beauty! Do let us know what you think and feel about this baby if ever you get hold of it!
Till then, stay gorgeous, stay radiant!

REVIEW: Johnson's Baby Lotion on Adult Skin

I am itching to do some makeup EOTDs and LOTDs since a while now but with guests at home I am not getting any time... So for a while you guys are stuck with me doing reviews. Not that my reviews do not need much efforts but as compared to EOTDs and LOTDs, reviews are a little bit less demanding where time constraints are concerned... Don't you agree? :) Today I shall be reviewing the Johnson's baby lotion and before you raise your eye brows and say to yourself "WTF" let me make it absolutely clear that I bought it when I was out of a moisturiser and needed one pronto! This was the only one available and so I just bought it. I figured if it was good for babies, how could it be bad for me? The truth? Read on ;) Johnson's Baby Lotion is Clinically proven to be mild and mild it sure is. It has a soft and soothing fragrance, which I love. Once applied it gets absorbed really fast and does not leave a residual oiliness or greasiness. It would be perfect for normal

I was planning on starting this post with a quote on health and all that jazz but then I realized you are here reading this post not cause you want to see my writing style but are here cause you actually want to read the contents :) So I will start without much intro but a little disclaimer before that ;) Disclaimer I am not a doctor or a nutritionist or even a dietitian. I have found out from experience what works for me and I am sharing it with you guys. You are to find out what is right for you and make your own permutations and combination to this regimen of mine depending on your target weight, your lifestyle and all :) Before I start there are a couple of points we need to keep in mind: 1. In order to lose weight one needs to burn more calories than you take in. 2. The human body takes about only 1200 calories to do the routine functions of respiration, digestion etc. 3. Just because you are not taking 3 full meals a day does not mean that you are starving yourself or ar

Makeup Class: Difference Between A Bronzer, A Highlighter, An Illuminator & A Brightener

Bronzer Vs Highlighter Vs Illuminator Vs Brightener  Very often than not being a beauty blogger I come across the terms Bronzer, Highlighter, Brightener and Illuminator at least a dozen times a day. These terms are everywhere and people use them in their daily conversation with so much confidence that you'd be surprised at how wrong many of them are in their usages. Oh! Yes even I have made mistakes in the past about their connotations and today armed with research, experiments and well just plain analysis I have reached a consensus where I can now confidently put forth the results of my hard work... Yes, today ladies and gentlemen, I shall be clearing all the confusion that prevails behind Bronzers, Highlighters, Illuminators and Brighteners!
