Review & Swatches: Maybelline Colorshow Lipstick - Fuchsia Flare

ISLM Writer: Ishleen

Hello all my gorgeous lovelies!

Winters are bringing out the best of me (what an oxymoron that is, right?) and I have been incessantly reviewing new products for you beauties, and trust me, I am loving each and every moment of it! And of course, what more do you want than a cozy blanket, a cuppa warm coffee and some pink lipstick to take you through the day?

Coming back to today's review, today I am going to review one of my current favourite Pink Lipsticks from Maybelline. I am an ardent fan of the Maybelline Color Show Lipstick in Fuchsia Flare! And why, if you may ask? Keep reading to know more!

My Experience with Maybelline Colorshow Lipstick - Fuchsia Flare

Packaging: Trust me girls, when I say I love Maybelline colour show lipstick range, I did not mean I love everything about it! And one such thing which I am not a major fan of is the packaging! It has a very normal black plasticky packaging with a colour coded band at the centre! To be honest, it feels very flimsy to me and i constantly live in the fear if breaking my baby love!

Texture: The colour show is perhaps the most comfortable lipsticks in the below 300 price tag in the indian market today! Neither is it matte, nor glossy, just plain creamy which looks and feels satiny on the lips and improves the appearance of your lips so much more! And yes, it can be easily mattified with just the slightest touch of translucent powder! Bingo!

Pigmentation: Maybelline has always scored with me on its pigmentation aspect at least most of the times it has! And Fuchsia Flare did not disappoint me, although I don't mind layering up my lipsticks to make them look super opaque, but this particular shade does not need any more than a sleek swipe to get a full blown colour on your pout!

Shade: Ok, I'll admit it, I am in love with this shade of maybelline color show range! As the name suggests, it is a flaringly, bold fuchsia with very vibrant cool blue undertones! And it suits Indian skin tones ah-mazingly well! I have had this lipstick tried upon a varied range of skin tones and it suited each of them perfectly well (and guess what, all my friends wanted it, so I gifted one to my friend and got another one for me)! All in all, Fuchsia Flare is love, truly!

Staying power: Being on the creamier side of the spectrum, this lipstick does not last extremely long, but does go on smooth for a good 3 hours and stains the lips heavily! So it never does leave your lips totally bare! It is a true friend, babe! ;)

  1. Super affordable
  2. Gorgeous shade
  3. Comfortable to wear
  4. Creamy finish
  5. Stays in for 3 hours and more
  6. Can be "mattified"
  7. Does not settle into fine lines
  8. Improves the appearance of your lips
  9. Does not look dry or flaky (even after 4 hours of continuous wear)
  1. Flimsy, average packaging
Final Verdict:
Do I still need to say anything more? Go grab it as soon as you can babe, and thank me later!

Cover The Cover: Harper's Bazaar (India) March 2012

You all know that I love tweaking my blog here and there and making some changes, introducing newer features and well sometimes just hooking the blog onto some social networking site :) Well this time I am introducing a new feature that I promise will be really exciting for all beauty enthusiasts :) To start with this feature is called "Cover The Cover" where I shall be covering the cover pages of our favorite beauty and fashion magazines in terms of make-up. There are times when a certain look on a celeb or a fashion mag just gets to us. Well rather than just mulling over such looks I have decided to give life to such looks (on me) and well do a kind of a faux photo shoot ;) What say? Doesn't it sound like fun? What more? You are all invited to submit your looks with a reference to which magazine and edition you are covering and I'll post it here :)

Today's look is inspired by my latest fav mag Harper's Bazaar. The March edition of Harper's Bazaar is a …

REVIEW & LOTD: Faces Long Wear Pencil in Navy Blue

While doing the "Meet The Bloggers" feature every Saturday, I have realised (and I am sure that you all have too) that Faces is fast becoming a very popular brand amongst us especially the Faces Long Wear pencils. So much so that a lot of people prefer Faces Long Wear pencils to even Colorbar I-Glides and that ladies and gentlemen is quite a feat for a newly launched brand. So anyways, I got myself a "Navy Blue" from this range and I must say that I am very happy with it. This is my second pencil from Faces after "Turquoise Blue" and well it hasn't failed me either.
This particular shade is a beautiful deep blue that looks stunning on the eye lids.

Ooooohss And Aaahhss!! 1. Really really stays on forever. 2. Doesn't smudge on my oily lids even after 8 hours of wear. 3. Friendly to the pocket 4. Faces have become quite easily available now. 5. They do not cause any allergies or reactions. 6. They are waterline safe a…

REVIEW: Johnson's Baby Lotion on Adult Skin

I am itching to do some makeup EOTDs and LOTDs since a while now but with guests at home I am not getting any time... So for a while you guys are stuck with me doing reviews. Not that my reviews do not need much efforts but as compared to EOTDs and LOTDs, reviews are a little bit less demanding where time constraints are concerned... Don't you agree? :)

Today I shall be reviewing the Johnson's baby lotion and before you raise your eye brows and say to yourself "WTF" let me make it absolutely clear that I bought it when I was out of a moisturiser and needed one pronto! This was the only one available and so I just bought it. I figured if it was good for babies, how could it be bad for me? The truth? Read on ;)

Johnson's Baby Lotion is Clinically proven to be mild and mild it sure is. It has a soft and soothing fragrance, which I love. Once applied it gets absorbed really fast and does not leave a residual oiliness or greasiness. It would be perfect for normal ski…
