REVIEW: Maybelline The Nudes Eyeshadow Palette

REVIEW: Maybelline The Nudes Eyeshadow Palette

With the Urban Decay Naked palettes and Makeup Revolution chocolate palettes and the like it was high time that some popular drugstore brand too upped their game and got something out in the name of nudes and neutrals. Well, Maybelline did and ladies and gentlemen please give a round of applause to Maybelline The Nudes Palette.

The Nudes palette by Maybelline is quite a delightful palette with 12 eye shadow shades that can more or less be called neutral and nude. It has a mix of shimmery and matte eyeshadows (thank God!) that is perfect for Indian skin tones. There are cool toned as well as warm toned shades in the palette and is a pretty versatile palette for sure. I use this palette to create looks for work and I have also used this palette to create festive and party looks.

Maybelline The Nudes Palette - Row 2

Price of Maybelline The Nudes Palette

It costs INR 899/-

It is an extremely handy palette in the sense that if you are going for a short vacation then carry this with you and you are covered for at least 3 to 4 different kinds of looks.
The back of the palette contains a pictorial representation of how you can use this palette to create almost 13 different eyeshadow looks using this palette.

The eyeshadows do not have much fallout and stay the whole day with a primer underneath.

On the downside, the packaging of the palette is extremely disappointing, its made of cheap plastic, the eyeshadow trays aren't placed well into the palette groove and the overall look and feel is very very unattractive.
Additionally, some eyeshadows are a little chalky and hence are a little difficult to blend and are not very pigmented either. Also, without an eye primer the eyeshadows start to crease and fade within 4 hours of wear.

Overall Rating:
6/10

Recommendation:
Buy it for the novelty factor and well yes some colours are truly beautiful. However, it isn't a must have.

Cover The Cover: Harper's Bazaar (India) March 2012

You all know that I love tweaking my blog here and there and making some changes, introducing newer features and well sometimes just hooking the blog onto some social networking site :) Well this time I am introducing a new feature that I promise will be really exciting for all beauty enthusiasts :) To start with this feature is called "Cover The Cover" where I shall be covering the cover pages of our favorite beauty and fashion magazines in terms of make-up. There are times when a certain look on a celeb or a fashion mag just gets to us. Well rather than just mulling over such looks I have decided to give life to such looks (on me) and well do a kind of a faux photo shoot ;) What say? Doesn't it sound like fun? What more? You are all invited to submit your looks with a reference to which magazine and edition you are covering and I'll post it here :)

Today's look is inspired by my latest fav mag Harper's Bazaar. The March edition of Harper's Bazaar is a …

REVIEW & LOTD: Faces Long Wear Pencil in Navy Blue

While doing the "Meet The Bloggers" feature every Saturday, I have realised (and I am sure that you all have too) that Faces is fast becoming a very popular brand amongst us especially the Faces Long Wear pencils. So much so that a lot of people prefer Faces Long Wear pencils to even Colorbar I-Glides and that ladies and gentlemen is quite a feat for a newly launched brand. So anyways, I got myself a "Navy Blue" from this range and I must say that I am very happy with it. This is my second pencil from Faces after "Turquoise Blue" and well it hasn't failed me either.
This particular shade is a beautiful deep blue that looks stunning on the eye lids.

Ooooohss And Aaahhss!! 1. Really really stays on forever. 2. Doesn't smudge on my oily lids even after 8 hours of wear. 3. Friendly to the pocket 4. Faces have become quite easily available now. 5. They do not cause any allergies or reactions. 6. They are waterline safe a…

REVIEW: Johnson's Baby Lotion on Adult Skin

I am itching to do some makeup EOTDs and LOTDs since a while now but with guests at home I am not getting any time... So for a while you guys are stuck with me doing reviews. Not that my reviews do not need much efforts but as compared to EOTDs and LOTDs, reviews are a little bit less demanding where time constraints are concerned... Don't you agree? :)

Today I shall be reviewing the Johnson's baby lotion and before you raise your eye brows and say to yourself "WTF" let me make it absolutely clear that I bought it when I was out of a moisturiser and needed one pronto! This was the only one available and so I just bought it. I figured if it was good for babies, how could it be bad for me? The truth? Read on ;)

Johnson's Baby Lotion is Clinically proven to be mild and mild it sure is. It has a soft and soothing fragrance, which I love. Once applied it gets absorbed really fast and does not leave a residual oiliness or greasiness. It would be perfect for normal ski…
