The New Way To Remove Makeup & Cleanse Your Face... Cleansing Butters, Balms & Oils

Review of The Body Shop Camomile Sumptuous Cleansing Butter

When I was a teenager, using a Face Wash instead of soap was the new way to take care of your skin. Face washes were gentler and less drying and they made soaps passe... Then I passed out of college and using Makeup Removers even for removing kajal was the new do. One simply wiped their face with a cotton ball soaked in makeup remover and then washed of the face with a gentle face wash...

Then Micellar Water gained popularity and everyone was and is still using it to remove their makeup and cleanse their faces. Micellar Water made makeup removers look old fashioned and almost redundant. Since they gained popularity first in France and then kinda spread to the beauty scene in the rest of the world, micellar water was revered as the ultimate in skincare. It still is...

However, then I discovered Cleansing Butters, Cleansing Balms & Cleansing Gels... And I can truly say they rocked and continue to rock my world...

Cleansing Balms, Butters and Oils are exactly what they are called. They are face cleansers that contain natural oils that help breakdown makeup particles and pull out dirt, grime and impurities without changing ones skin's natural pH balance and therefore keeping the skin's natural moisture barrier intact. They are extremely effective cleansers and are great for all kinds of skin types.

How To Use Cleansing Balms, Butters and Oils

They are to be applied directly onto dry skin and massaged gently. This allows the product to start the process of breaking down makeup particles and other impurities and also aids in blood circulation which in turn helps in preventing the skin from aging. Then you either rinse off with water or wipe your face with a damp muslin cloth. And tada... You are left with cleansed but balanced skin :)

Advantages of Using Cleansing Balms, Butters & Oils

  1. They effectively remove all kinds of makeup including waterproof makeup and also help remove dirt, grime and impurities.
  2. They are not alkaline and hence do not dry out the skin
  3. The massaging action when applying the product is relaxing and prevents skin aging.
  4. They pamper the skin.
  5. Its quick and does not involve a multi-step process of removing makeup and then using a face cleanser.

Review of The Body Shop Camomile Sumptuous Cleansing Butter

The Body Shop Camomile Cleansing Butter is my favorite cleansing product mostly because it is extremely effective in removing all kinds of makeup quickly and easily. It has a very soothing fragrance that helps me relax at the end of the day. Since the day I have started using it, breakouts that I would get on the sides of my face have almost disappeared and my skin genuinely feels plump.

Earlier, using a makeup remover and then a face wash ended up with my skin feeling raw and a little sore and not to mention dried out, but since the time I have started using the TBS Camomile Sumptuous Cleansing Butter my skin feels pampered and cared for.

Price of The Body Shop Camomile Sumptuous Cleansing Butter

It costs INR 1095/-

It comes in a flat aluminum container with a screw on top lid. I kinda like the packaging, it feels vintage. The product itself is in a solid state that you need to scoop out and apply. The product immediately starts melting into an oily state the moment you start massaging it into your face. It removes waterproof mascara, long stay foundations, stubborn eyeliners and kajals and even matte lipsticks with surprising ease without making your skin feel assaulted :)

Its great TLC for your skin.

REVIEW: Johnson's Baby Lotion on Adult Skin

I am itching to do some makeup EOTDs and LOTDs since a while now but with guests at home I am not getting any time... So for a while you guys are stuck with me doing reviews. Not that my reviews do not need much efforts but as compared to EOTDs and LOTDs, reviews are a little bit less demanding where time constraints are concerned... Don't you agree? :) Today I shall be reviewing the Johnson's baby lotion and before you raise your eye brows and say to yourself "WTF" let me make it absolutely clear that I bought it when I was out of a moisturiser and needed one pronto! This was the only one available and so I just bought it. I figured if it was good for babies, how could it be bad for me? The truth? Read on ;) Johnson's Baby Lotion is Clinically proven to be mild and mild it sure is. It has a soft and soothing fragrance, which I love. Once applied it gets absorbed really fast and does not leave a residual oiliness or greasiness. It would be perfect for normal

Changes in my Skincare and Fitness Perspective Post 30

Changes in my Skincare and Fitness Perspective Post 30 #Adulting One early morning while I was sipping an exceptionally strong cup of coffee and introspecting I identified a few lifestyle changes that I had incorporated in the past year or so. On further retrospection I realised that these changes were a part of what I perceived would be good for me in the long run... When did I start thinking about my health in the future? When did I start worrying about how my skin would be 10 years down the line? OMG was I #Adulting? Is this even the correct usage of the latest hashtag?

Makeup Class: Difference Between A Bronzer, A Highlighter, An Illuminator & A Brightener

Bronzer Vs Highlighter Vs Illuminator Vs Brightener  Very often than not being a beauty blogger I come across the terms Bronzer, Highlighter, Brightener and Illuminator at least a dozen times a day. These terms are everywhere and people use them in their daily conversation with so much confidence that you'd be surprised at how wrong many of them are in their usages. Oh! Yes even I have made mistakes in the past about their connotations and today armed with research, experiments and well just plain analysis I have reached a consensus where I can now confidently put forth the results of my hard work... Yes, today ladies and gentlemen, I shall be clearing all the confusion that prevails behind Bronzers, Highlighters, Illuminators and Brighteners!
