Preview & First Impressions: Studio West Beauty Products by Westside

There always is that one thing that can cheer you up instantly... It could be your dog, a cup of hazelnut cappuccino, a loved one, a movie, a song, could be anything... At the risk of sounding vain and shallow let me confess that for me its makeup that is an instant lift-me-up... So nobody is happier than me when a new line of makeup products are launched...
And when they are reasonably priced, my day is just made :)

Westside has recently come up with a line of makeup and beauty products marketed under the name StudioWest... They had a little launch event at Infiniti Mall, Andheri and had invited a select list of guests to witness, experience and simply play around with the new launches. I was a part of the invited group (yay!) and wait till I tell you guys all about it!

This post is a preview of a few of the StudioWest products and my first impressions about them. A detailed review of each product will follow soon I promise!

StudioWest makeup products are divided into 2 lines... Pure Passion and Maya... Pure Passion is a line of makeup products consisting mainly of earthy nudes, peaches and nude pinks. It has something for everybody and is perfect for makeup at work, at college and basically everyday wear.
Maya on the other hand is the "fancy" range that is perfect for the Indian festive season and weddings. Glitter, shimmer and bright pops of colour are some terms I would use to describe the products in this line.

If I was to pick one product from each of the two lines, I would pick the lipsticks from Pure Passion and the blushes from Maya! ♥

So without much ado, let me just introduce you all to some of the products from #StudioWest...

StudioWest Pure Passion Flawless Finish Compact

Price: INR 495/-

Though packed as a compact, the flawless finish compact is velvety texture wise and feels like a loose powder when applied. It fiercely controls shine and the packaging is practical and travel friendly.

StudioWest Maya radiance Blush - Plum Shine

Price: INR 425/-

One of my favorite products from the Maya line, these radiance blushes are buildable and hence very easy to work with. Plum Shine is a very earthy shade that would look gorgeous and most Indian skintones.

StudioWest Pure Passion Intense Kajal & Liner - Black & Blue

Price: INR 195/- for the kajal and INR 295/- for the liner

I will be very honest when I say that the kajal surprised me! It does not smudge, crease or give me panda eyes and it stayed on me for a whole day including an hour in the gym. Pigmentation wise it is exactly how a kajal should be and is not to be compared to a gel liner.

StudioWest Pure Passion Crystal Eyeshadow Trio - Daytime Neutrals

Price: INR 395/-

Pigmented and with a sheen like finish these trios are a steal at INR 395/- The Daytime Neutral palette in particular is versatile and a must have in every Indian woman's vanity!

StudioWest Pure Passion Luscious Mascara

Price: INR 375/-

A decent mascara with a thin wand that makes applying mascara to bottom lashes very easy and convenient, the Luscious mascara is a great product for beginners. It is not a volumising mascara, instead it lengthens ones lashes.

StudioWest Pure Passion Flawless Finish Makeup

Price: INR 550/-

I unfortunately received an incorrect shade and hence I have not been able to test it on my face. However, I did try it on my hand and the product feels light and blends smoothly enough. Rest is for when I actually use it on my face :)

StudioWest Pure Passion Irresistible Lipstick - Barely There 601

Price: INR 295/-

A gorgeous shade Barely There is an Indian Nude lipstick. the Irresistible range contains mostly nudes and peaches and you are bound to find your MLBB shade for sure! They have an average staying power of about 3-4 hours and are moisturising enough.

StudioWest Maya Luminous Lip Glaze - Gleaming Red M141

Price: INR 395/-

A shimmery Red, this shade is a perfect example of a bridal lip color. The Maya Luminous Lip Glaze range mostly consists of Fuschias and Magentas and Reds and Maroons with a shimmer finish that is perfect for the Indian festive season. They have a decent staying power of about 3-4 hours after which they settle into a subtle stain.

StudioWest Pure Passion Long Lasting Lipstick - Spiked Toffee

Price: INR 450/-

This is my favorite lipstick from the range. It is a long lasting lipstick and it stays for over 6 hours with a meal in between. Spiked Toffee is the perfect shade for work and doesn't feel dry at all.

StudioWest Pure Passion Dramatic EyeLiner

Price: INR 295/-

Very few liquid liners impress me and this Dramatic Liner is one of them. It stayed put on my eye lids for the whole day and did not budge, smudge, crease or wear off. It is intensely black and has a wet sort of a finish.

StudioWest Pure Passion Cashmere Chubby Stick - Poppilicious

Price: INR 495/-

Chubby sticks are all over the place and StudioWest was not the one to be left behind. Poppilicious, a soft Red is a great shade for everyday wear. The staying power is about 2-3 hours after which it settles into a stain. These chubby sticks are travel friendly.

StudioWest Pure Passion Vivid Nail Color - Coral

Price: INR 145/-

Last but not the least, StudioWest has also come up with some gorgeous shades in nail polishes. From nudes, to whites to corals to fuschias, you are bound to find your shade.

Here's a Neutral Natural Makeup Look (LOTD) I created with some of the StudioWest Makeup Products...

So that's a little preview of a few StudioWest makeup products. Have you had the chance to try them out yet? Would you try them out?

REVIEW: Johnson's Baby Lotion on Adult Skin

I am itching to do some makeup EOTDs and LOTDs since a while now but with guests at home I am not getting any time... So for a while you guys are stuck with me doing reviews. Not that my reviews do not need much efforts but as compared to EOTDs and LOTDs, reviews are a little bit less demanding where time constraints are concerned... Don't you agree? :)

Today I shall be reviewing the Johnson's baby lotion and before you raise your eye brows and say to yourself "WTF" let me make it absolutely clear that I bought it when I was out of a moisturiser and needed one pronto! This was the only one available and so I just bought it. I figured if it was good for babies, how could it be bad for me? The truth? Read on ;)

Johnson's Baby Lotion is Clinically proven to be mild and mild it sure is. It has a soft and soothing fragrance, which I love. Once applied it gets absorbed really fast and does not leave a residual oiliness or greasiness. It would be perfect for normal ski…

Makeup Class: Difference Between A Bronzer, A Highlighter, An Illuminator & A Brightener

Bronzer Vs Highlighter Vs Illuminator Vs Brightener

Very often than not being a beauty blogger I come across the terms Bronzer, Highlighter, Brightener and Illuminator at least a dozen times a day. These terms are everywhere and people use them in their daily conversation with so much confidence that you'd be surprised at how wrong many of them are in their usages. Oh! Yes even I have made mistakes in the past about their connotations and today armed with research, experiments and well just plain analysis I have reached a consensus where I can now confidently put forth the results of my hard work...

Yes, today ladies and gentlemen, I shall be clearing all the confusion that prevails behind Bronzers, Highlighters, Illuminators and Brighteners!

REVIEW: MAC Studio Fix Fluid Foundation In NC42

Review of MAC Studio Fix Fluid Foundation In Shade NC42

Guest Post By: Rmyah

There are days when I just cannot help look at myself through any reflective surface that I can. Be it mirrors, glass doors, rear view mirrors, the back of a spoon and even a pond. And then there are days when I wished everyone was blind, every mirror shattered, the serene water turbulent, anything to avoid me seeing my face. One such day when my skin was going through a blearrrgh phase I decided to put my face on the web and show you how I deal with it. My savior is the MAC studio fix fluid foundation which has been my HG foundation for about three months now.
