Keep Calm & Love Your Skin Featuring L'Oreal Paris Mat Magique

REVIEW: L'Oreal Paris Mat Magique All In One Transforming Powder

I am turning 30 in a fortnight and all I can think of is somehow saving my skin from the inevitable aging... From various night creams to eye creams to magical skin elixirs, I am giving everything a shot. However, I cannot but notice how my skin's changed in the past couple of months...

I have always had very dry skin but I have now started noticing the skin on my face turn a little oily. I still need a heavy moisturiser but as the day progresses I notice my skin instead instead of getting drier starts to get shiny and even oily! Even in AC! Hence, my daily makeup has drastically changed and BB creams have now been replaced with powder foundations and pressed powders...

So when I was sent a hamper of L'Oreal Paris's new pressed powders, I was delighted... Not only is the packaging really pretty, the shade selection is on the basis of undertones! This is for the first time have I seen a drugstore brand offer base makeup based on undertones and for that lets all give L'Oreal Paris 3 cheers!!!

There are a total of 5 shades available in the range:
  • G1 Vanilla Ivory (lightest)
  • N2 Nude Vanilla
  • N6 Nude Honey
  • G2 Golden Ivory
  • G7 Golden Amber (darkest)
The shades as are a mix of neutrals and warm tones... 'N' standing for neutral while 'G' that stands for Golden is warm.

I matched N6 Nude Honey...

Price of L'Oreal Paris Mat Magique All-in-One Transforming Powder

It costs INR 399/-

The brand is calling it a 'Transforming Powder'... While it does transform your look, it essentially is a powder foundation that acts as a primer and covers pores, primes your skin to remain shine free as the day wears on and then acts as a foundation and covers blemishes and imperfections...

While it does have some tall claims, I truly found it working for me as a foundation by covering my imperfections as well as a primer! It stayed on me for a whole day of running errands and controlled shine! I have a video specifically testing out the 12H Shine Free claim.

L'Oreal Paris Mat Magique All-in-One Transforming Powder contains Volcanic Perlite that has sponge like characteristics and absorbs sweat and sebum pretty effectively!

Texture wise the powder feels creamy when applied and is buildable. I also use a lighter shade to set my concealer and it instantly brightens up my under eye area.

The packaging of L'Oreal Paris Mat Magique All-in-One Transforming Powder is on point with a very pretty, girly details. The powder comes in a transparent plastic case with reflective Fuchsia lettering. The case contains 2 compartments. One compartment contains the actual product while the second one contains the sponge applicator and a mirror. The mirror is pretty good and very high quality and the sponge applicator has a silicone-y finish that is very high end!

The powder after about half an hour oxidized a little on me... Nothing alarming because it doesn't change color visibly but I get a distinct "oxidation" odor for a bit that disappears soon.

Overall Rating:

For a drugstore product, L'Oreal Paris has hit jackpot with this and the pocket friendly price is simply the icing on the cake!

Cover The Cover: Harper's Bazaar (India) March 2012

You all know that I love tweaking my blog here and there and making some changes, introducing newer features and well sometimes just hooking the blog onto some social networking site :) Well this time I am introducing a new feature that I promise will be really exciting for all beauty enthusiasts :) To start with this feature is called "Cover The Cover" where I shall be covering the cover pages of our favorite beauty and fashion magazines in terms of make-up. There are times when a certain look on a celeb or a fashion mag just gets to us. Well rather than just mulling over such looks I have decided to give life to such looks (on me) and well do a kind of a faux photo shoot ;) What say? Doesn't it sound like fun? What more? You are all invited to submit your looks with a reference to which magazine and edition you are covering and I'll post it here :)

Today's look is inspired by my latest fav mag Harper's Bazaar. The March edition of Harper's Bazaar is a …

REVIEW & LOTD: Faces Long Wear Pencil in Navy Blue

While doing the "Meet The Bloggers" feature every Saturday, I have realised (and I am sure that you all have too) that Faces is fast becoming a very popular brand amongst us especially the Faces Long Wear pencils. So much so that a lot of people prefer Faces Long Wear pencils to even Colorbar I-Glides and that ladies and gentlemen is quite a feat for a newly launched brand. So anyways, I got myself a "Navy Blue" from this range and I must say that I am very happy with it. This is my second pencil from Faces after "Turquoise Blue" and well it hasn't failed me either.
This particular shade is a beautiful deep blue that looks stunning on the eye lids.

Ooooohss And Aaahhss!! 1. Really really stays on forever. 2. Doesn't smudge on my oily lids even after 8 hours of wear. 3. Friendly to the pocket 4. Faces have become quite easily available now. 5. They do not cause any allergies or reactions. 6. They are waterline safe a…

REVIEW: Johnson's Baby Lotion on Adult Skin

I am itching to do some makeup EOTDs and LOTDs since a while now but with guests at home I am not getting any time... So for a while you guys are stuck with me doing reviews. Not that my reviews do not need much efforts but as compared to EOTDs and LOTDs, reviews are a little bit less demanding where time constraints are concerned... Don't you agree? :)

Today I shall be reviewing the Johnson's baby lotion and before you raise your eye brows and say to yourself "WTF" let me make it absolutely clear that I bought it when I was out of a moisturiser and needed one pronto! This was the only one available and so I just bought it. I figured if it was good for babies, how could it be bad for me? The truth? Read on ;)

Johnson's Baby Lotion is Clinically proven to be mild and mild it sure is. It has a soft and soothing fragrance, which I love. Once applied it gets absorbed really fast and does not leave a residual oiliness or greasiness. It would be perfect for normal ski…
