Its Not Just Hair Color... Its A State of Mind!

Featuring Godrej Nupur Coconut Henna Creme Hair Color

I have had grey hair since I don't know when... I guess it a genetic thing and since my primary school days I have had grey hair... Of course people who don't know me well still keep pointing them out to me and as good Samaritans would help me with nuskes and advice.

For the record, I have never been uncomfortable about my grey hair... I embrace them like I embrace my semi-Asian eyes, my dimpled chin... I have always felt like my grey hair was a feature that made me stand out and I still stand by it...

So when I colored my hair a couple of days back because I had my greys, my new hair color became more prominent in streaks and gave an effect of highlighted hair :) Awesome isn't it?

I have very recently gotten my hair straightened (permanent straightening) and I was a little wary about making my hair go through more chemical in the form of Hair Color. So when I received a hamper of Godrej Nupur Coconut Henna Creme Hair Color, I was a little intrigued... They claimed to contain the goodness of Coconut and Henna, a combination too good to be true :)

Price of Godrej Nupur Coconut Henna Creme Hair Color:

It costs INR 39/- per sachet

I received 4 shades of hair color - Burgundy, Natural Black, Dark Brown and Natural Brown. Initially, I wasn't sure what I wanted to go for... My main aim wasn't to cover grey but to give myself a new look and hence I didn't choose Natural Black or Dark Brown... Eventually I chose Burgundy since its the closest to Red and goes very well with Indian skin tones.

Coming to the hair color itself, Godrej Nupur Coconut Henna Creme Hair Color comes in sachets that is enough for short hair but for medium to longer hair, you'll need at least 2 sachets. Each sachet contains the color and a developer. Amazingly enough, the color smells and looks like henna while the developer smells like Coconut :)

Applying the hair color was simple and very convenient and I was advised to keep the color on for just 30 mins! That's quick! After 30 mins I washed my hair with just water and could feel the colour work on the hair. Then I went the full routine with shampoo and conditioner...

After my hair dried, I could see a tinge of colour and my greys were covered. But today morning I found the color to be developed a little more and in the sun I could see highlights of red all over my head :) Yayee!

Immediately AFTER coloring my hair

8 hours AFTER coloring my hair - In Artificial Lighting

24 hours AFTER coloring my hair.

My hair still smells mildly of coconut and it is soft to touch. But overall I am pretty happy with my experience.

Its a great product if you want to color your hair at home. Its convenient, easy to use and with the goodness of Coconut and Henna, its hard not to like :)
I just wish they had a bigger variety where shades are concerned but is a great value for money as the Coconut Oil and Henna work together to nourish & condition your hair.

  1. WOW! You look gorgeous girl. I too have my share of greys and have been experimenting with colour. This looks like a safe option to colour and the colour really looks awesome. Btw, do check my insta feed darling... I have gone ombre :-)

You all know that I love tweaking my blog here and there and making some changes, introducing newer features and well sometimes just hooking the blog onto some social networking site :) Well this time I am introducing a new feature that I promise will be really exciting for all beauty enthusiasts :) To start with this feature is called "Cover The Cover" where I shall be covering the cover pages of our favorite beauty and fashion magazines in terms of make-up. There are times when a certain look on a celeb or a fashion mag just gets to us. Well rather than just mulling over such looks I have decided to give life to such looks (on me) and well do a kind of a faux photo shoot ;) What say? Doesn't it sound like fun? What more? You are all invited to submit your looks with a reference to which magazine and edition you are covering and I'll post it here :)

Today's look is inspired by my latest fav mag Harper's Bazaar. The March edition of Harper's Bazaar is a …

Review of L'Oreal Paris Infallible Blush Paint Longwear High Impact Stick - Fuchsia Fame
Right now am sitting at the dining table trying to figure out a way to start this post in an "interesting" way... I am obviously struggling... There are these times when your mind just goes blank and you can't think of anything, right? Yeah, I am having one of those moments...

So, I guess I'll directly dive into the review and not mull around. I bought the L'Oreal Paris Infallible Blush Paint Stick on a whim... I was out window shopping at Shoppers Stop and I just happened to glance at the L'Oreal counter and this cute little stub caught my fancy... The moment I swatched it I knew I had to buy it...

Price of L'Oreal Paris Infallible Blush Paint Stick It costs a whopping INR 999/-

There is nothing much to talk about the packaging. It is exactly what it looks like, a rotating chubby stick with a cap. The plastic doesn't seem cheap and is pretty sturdy. I have d…

How I Wear My Denim Jacket To Be In Trend for 2018

How I Wear My Denim Jacket To Be In Trend for 2018 Denim is forever. It's versatility makes it a classic and in the form of a jacket it not just looks dapper and en vogue but is also comfortable and convenient... I love denim jackets because they are perfect for Pune's so called Winters and because they are the best accessories for any kind of outfit...

Going through some of the Fall Winter 2017-18 collections from the likes of Calvin Klein, Christian Dior and Stella McCartney, denim on denim seemed to be the trend in boxy and boyish silhouettes. I am not a very big fan of denim and denim and hence I prefer to pair my boxy denim jacket with a flowy, floral dress that makes the look strike a balance between feminine and androgynous.
