REVIEW: MAC Girl About Town Lipstick

ISLM Writer: Arshi

I apologise for being missing in action since a really long time. It seems like a small eternity has passed since I last wrote a review. I had been busying celebrating and enjoying some real big changes in my life. You know there comes a phase in your life when you desperately need a change and simply nothing seems to work for you. And then, just about the time when you least expect it, out of nowhere, you finally witness the change! Getting what you've been waiting so long for is sheer bliss!! :-)

So that I’m back, I wanted to write about something bright and cheerful, something that instantly lightens up my life and what else could be better than MAC Girl About Town?

Price of MAC Girl About Town Lipstick

I bought it when it was for Rs.990 and then the prices hiked to Rs.1190 and then Rs.1450. I believe the prices have been increased again (Please correct me if I’m wrong!)

I suppose I’m the last person on earth to review this baby because everyone in the beauty blogosphere seems to absolutely adore this pretty pink lipstick.
There are some products that you literally need to try out just to know about the buzz around it; MAC Girl About Town is one such thing!

MAC Girl About Town Lipstick is a bright blue-based fuschia shade in the amplified creme finish. The amplified finish makes it opaque in just a single swipe and its quite staining. Though the shade is very vibrant, I’m happy that it does not appear neon-ish against my NC42 skin tone. It has just the right amount of cool tones to brighten up warm Indian skin tones.

Amplified finish by MAC is one of the most preferred finishes as it glides on very creamy on the lips and it doesn’t dry out the lips. There is absolutely no feathering or smearing either. Since this shade is deep, the color stays on my lips for about six hours and I need a heavy-duty makeup remover to get rid of it completely.

If you’re a makeup addict like me, you would agree on this if I say that it is a herculean task to buy your first MAC lipstick simply because you’re spoilt for choice. When I went to buy my first MAC lipstick, I knew that I wanted a pink lipstick but I was confused between Girl About Town and Amorous. And as you might have guessed, undoubtedly, I bought both!

Overall Rating

MAC Girl About Town Lipstick is an astounding color which suits an array of skin tones. The finish is creamy and the color is so beautiful and versatile that you can wear it with minimal makeup as well. It is a shade which can brighten up the face without much effort and almost everyone can carry off this shade easily. Hands down the prettiest pink lipstick I own!

  1. Nice review gurl... surly looking foward to try it out..!!

Cover The Cover: Harper's Bazaar (India) March 2012

You all know that I love tweaking my blog here and there and making some changes, introducing newer features and well sometimes just hooking the blog onto some social networking site :) Well this time I am introducing a new feature that I promise will be really exciting for all beauty enthusiasts :) To start with this feature is called "Cover The Cover" where I shall be covering the cover pages of our favorite beauty and fashion magazines in terms of make-up. There are times when a certain look on a celeb or a fashion mag just gets to us. Well rather than just mulling over such looks I have decided to give life to such looks (on me) and well do a kind of a faux photo shoot ;) What say? Doesn't it sound like fun? What more? You are all invited to submit your looks with a reference to which magazine and edition you are covering and I'll post it here :)

Today's look is inspired by my latest fav mag Harper's Bazaar. The March edition of Harper's Bazaar is a …

REVIEW & LOTD: Faces Long Wear Pencil in Navy Blue

While doing the "Meet The Bloggers" feature every Saturday, I have realised (and I am sure that you all have too) that Faces is fast becoming a very popular brand amongst us especially the Faces Long Wear pencils. So much so that a lot of people prefer Faces Long Wear pencils to even Colorbar I-Glides and that ladies and gentlemen is quite a feat for a newly launched brand. So anyways, I got myself a "Navy Blue" from this range and I must say that I am very happy with it. This is my second pencil from Faces after "Turquoise Blue" and well it hasn't failed me either.
This particular shade is a beautiful deep blue that looks stunning on the eye lids.

Ooooohss And Aaahhss!! 1. Really really stays on forever. 2. Doesn't smudge on my oily lids even after 8 hours of wear. 3. Friendly to the pocket 4. Faces have become quite easily available now. 5. They do not cause any allergies or reactions. 6. They are waterline safe a…

REVIEW: Johnson's Baby Lotion on Adult Skin

I am itching to do some makeup EOTDs and LOTDs since a while now but with guests at home I am not getting any time... So for a while you guys are stuck with me doing reviews. Not that my reviews do not need much efforts but as compared to EOTDs and LOTDs, reviews are a little bit less demanding where time constraints are concerned... Don't you agree? :)

Today I shall be reviewing the Johnson's baby lotion and before you raise your eye brows and say to yourself "WTF" let me make it absolutely clear that I bought it when I was out of a moisturiser and needed one pronto! This was the only one available and so I just bought it. I figured if it was good for babies, how could it be bad for me? The truth? Read on ;)

Johnson's Baby Lotion is Clinically proven to be mild and mild it sure is. It has a soft and soothing fragrance, which I love. Once applied it gets absorbed really fast and does not leave a residual oiliness or greasiness. It would be perfect for normal ski…
