Review of Lakme Absolute Mattreal Skin Natural Mousse in Golden Medium

ISLM Writer: Himani

Hey all beauty geeks!!! Today I am going to review Lakme Absolute Mattreal Skin Natural Mousse in Golden Medium. I don't even remember how many foundations I have bought and tried to find my HG foundation. Wait, I do remember!!! Some hundreds. Ya, I am exaggerating, but the number is definitely a two-digit, if not a three-digit. And I am sure lot of you will relate and remember those wrong buys which once looked like a ray of hope.

I know Lakme Absolute Mattreal Skin Natural Mousse is not a new launch and has been released quite some time back. Still, it is one of those foundations that I tried in hope of landing little closer to the perfect foundation for me. This is a highly raved about product, which further escalated my desire to own this. And as always, Lakme Absolute Mattreal Skin Natural Mousse became a new occupant, a while back, in my foundation stash. Lets check out my experience with this foundation.

Price of Lakme Absolute Mattreal Skin Natural Mousse:

It costs INR 700.

Lakme Absolute Mattreal Skin Natural Mousse comes in 6 shades with both yellow and pink undertones. I think that almost everyone will find one shade that closely matches their skin. I picked up the one in Golden Medium. It is a medium shade with yellow undertones. The best part of this shade is that suits a whole range of complexions. You may find it a bit more yellow initially, but it adjusts very well with Indian skin tones.

Lakme Absolute Mattreal Skin Natural Mousse has a whipped cream-like texture as stated by the mousse description. It is very lightweight and blends like a dream. You need not fish out your foundation brush or a sponge; your fingers are more than enough for it to look natural on your skin. This makes it the perfect choice for quick makeup days. The foundation does not look cakey or patchy and gives a bright glow to the skin. The coverage is light to medium. I can compare it to a tinted moisturizer. You will definitely need a concealer to cover your problem areas, but this foundation sets up an awesome base for adding more coverage.

Lakme Absolute Mattreal Skin Natural Mousse is a long wearing foundation. It stays put for almost the entire day. It controls oil very well, but at the same time is not very drying. Skin keeps on looking smooth and glows. The foundation comes in a very unique packaging which is a grey round tub with a metallic sheen. Though it looks quite pretty, it is not very easy to store or travel with. The tub packaging also makes it unhygienic to use.

Ooooohhsss And Aaaahhhsss!!!
1. Buildable coverage.
2. Light and smooth texture.
3. Blends easily.
4. Looks very natural.
5. Brightens the face.
6. Long lasting.
7. Smells nice.
8. Affordable.
9. Controls oil well.
10. Sleek packaging.

1. Unhygienic packaging.
2. Concealer is required for getting a full coverage.

Generally, I prefer full coverage foundations. But I still love Lakme Absolute Mattreal Skin Natural Mousse because of its natural finish and ease in blending. Perfect for getting a smooth and bright skin quickly. Highly recommended!!!

Overall Rating:

  1. I agree it is very easy to work with. I apply it whenever I have special occasions to attend and it stays put for good 7-8 hours. Also, it photographs really well.

    1. Yes,I agree.. It is indeed a wonderful foundation :)

  2. Wow! This foundation really looks very promising especially since you say that it is very easy to blend and that getting a shade match is pretty easy... I really need to check this out now! Btw will it suit Dry Skin Himani?

    1. Yup yup u defi shld.. I hv a combination skin with dry cheeks and I have never felt uncomfortable wearing this.. but yes it might cling to any dry patches.. :(

Cover The Cover: Harper's Bazaar (India) March 2012

You all know that I love tweaking my blog here and there and making some changes, introducing newer features and well sometimes just hooking the blog onto some social networking site :) Well this time I am introducing a new feature that I promise will be really exciting for all beauty enthusiasts :) To start with this feature is called "Cover The Cover" where I shall be covering the cover pages of our favorite beauty and fashion magazines in terms of make-up. There are times when a certain look on a celeb or a fashion mag just gets to us. Well rather than just mulling over such looks I have decided to give life to such looks (on me) and well do a kind of a faux photo shoot ;) What say? Doesn't it sound like fun? What more? You are all invited to submit your looks with a reference to which magazine and edition you are covering and I'll post it here :)

Today's look is inspired by my latest fav mag Harper's Bazaar. The March edition of Harper's Bazaar is a …

REVIEW & LOTD: Faces Long Wear Pencil in Navy Blue

While doing the "Meet The Bloggers" feature every Saturday, I have realised (and I am sure that you all have too) that Faces is fast becoming a very popular brand amongst us especially the Faces Long Wear pencils. So much so that a lot of people prefer Faces Long Wear pencils to even Colorbar I-Glides and that ladies and gentlemen is quite a feat for a newly launched brand. So anyways, I got myself a "Navy Blue" from this range and I must say that I am very happy with it. This is my second pencil from Faces after "Turquoise Blue" and well it hasn't failed me either.
This particular shade is a beautiful deep blue that looks stunning on the eye lids.

Ooooohss And Aaahhss!! 1. Really really stays on forever. 2. Doesn't smudge on my oily lids even after 8 hours of wear. 3. Friendly to the pocket 4. Faces have become quite easily available now. 5. They do not cause any allergies or reactions. 6. They are waterline safe a…

REVIEW: Johnson's Baby Lotion on Adult Skin

I am itching to do some makeup EOTDs and LOTDs since a while now but with guests at home I am not getting any time... So for a while you guys are stuck with me doing reviews. Not that my reviews do not need much efforts but as compared to EOTDs and LOTDs, reviews are a little bit less demanding where time constraints are concerned... Don't you agree? :)

Today I shall be reviewing the Johnson's baby lotion and before you raise your eye brows and say to yourself "WTF" let me make it absolutely clear that I bought it when I was out of a moisturiser and needed one pronto! This was the only one available and so I just bought it. I figured if it was good for babies, how could it be bad for me? The truth? Read on ;)

Johnson's Baby Lotion is Clinically proven to be mild and mild it sure is. It has a soft and soothing fragrance, which I love. Once applied it gets absorbed really fast and does not leave a residual oiliness or greasiness. It would be perfect for normal ski…
