Is L'Oreal Paris Collection Star Pure Rouge Lipstick A Dupe of MAC Ruby Woo

Is L'Oreal Paris Collection Star Pure Rouge Lipstick A Dupe of MAC Ruby Woo?

This is one question that I have been asked repeatedly since almost a month now and hence I thought of doing a post about it and letting you all know the answer once and for all :)
So if you've been wondering the same yourself, then go on reading...

So coming right down to the point... Here are the hand swatches for both lipsticks...

As is evident, the L'Oreal Paris Collection Star Reds - Pure Rouge is a deeper Red. The shade is rich, womanly and for someone who owns herself...
On the other hand the MAC Retro Matte - Ruby Woo is a brighter Red with Orange undertones. The shade is girly and for someone who is out to have some fun...

Texture wise L'Oreal Paris Pure Rouge (shade for Freida Pinto) is more creamy and exhibits better pigmentation with one swipe while MAC Ruby Woo is drier and thinner and hence requires a couple of swipes to give a proper opaque coverage to the lips.

Price of L'Oreal Paris Collection Star Reds - Pure Rouge

It costs INR 995/-

Price of MAC Retro Matte - Ruby Woo

It costs INR 1450/-

Product quality wise both are amazing just that the L'Oreal lippy tends to break very easily while the MAC lippy stays strong and sturdy.

On my lips, both lipsticks look almost the same and even though there was a difference seen in the hand swatches, they are indistinguishable on my lips!

So coming back to my burning question, are they a dupe of each other?

Hmmmmm, well I suppose they are... If you own one of the two, you can give the other a skip :)

REVIEW: Johnson's Baby Lotion on Adult Skin

I am itching to do some makeup EOTDs and LOTDs since a while now but with guests at home I am not getting any time... So for a while you guys are stuck with me doing reviews. Not that my reviews do not need much efforts but as compared to EOTDs and LOTDs, reviews are a little bit less demanding where time constraints are concerned... Don't you agree? :)

Today I shall be reviewing the Johnson's baby lotion and before you raise your eye brows and say to yourself "WTF" let me make it absolutely clear that I bought it when I was out of a moisturiser and needed one pronto! This was the only one available and so I just bought it. I figured if it was good for babies, how could it be bad for me? The truth? Read on ;)

Johnson's Baby Lotion is Clinically proven to be mild and mild it sure is. It has a soft and soothing fragrance, which I love. Once applied it gets absorbed really fast and does not leave a residual oiliness or greasiness. It would be perfect for normal ski…

Makeup Class: Difference Between A Bronzer, A Highlighter, An Illuminator & A Brightener

Bronzer Vs Highlighter Vs Illuminator Vs Brightener

Very often than not being a beauty blogger I come across the terms Bronzer, Highlighter, Brightener and Illuminator at least a dozen times a day. These terms are everywhere and people use them in their daily conversation with so much confidence that you'd be surprised at how wrong many of them are in their usages. Oh! Yes even I have made mistakes in the past about their connotations and today armed with research, experiments and well just plain analysis I have reached a consensus where I can now confidently put forth the results of my hard work...

Yes, today ladies and gentlemen, I shall be clearing all the confusion that prevails behind Bronzers, Highlighters, Illuminators and Brighteners!

REVIEW: MAC Studio Fix Fluid Foundation In NC42

Review of MAC Studio Fix Fluid Foundation In Shade NC42

Guest Post By: Rmyah

There are days when I just cannot help look at myself through any reflective surface that I can. Be it mirrors, glass doors, rear view mirrors, the back of a spoon and even a pond. And then there are days when I wished everyone was blind, every mirror shattered, the serene water turbulent, anything to avoid me seeing my face. One such day when my skin was going through a blearrrgh phase I decided to put my face on the web and show you how I deal with it. My savior is the MAC studio fix fluid foundation which has been my HG foundation for about three months now.
