The Little Sweet Things - Valentine's Day Special

The Little Sweet Things - Valentine's Day Special!

ISLM Writer: Nivedita

Valentine’s Day is just a day away and I’m quite sure all of us are reeling under high fever of love. Whether you are single, single and engaged or married, we all love to pamper and be pampered with love and gifts (if possible) on the 14th day of February, each year, isn’t it?

I completely agree with majority of you. Having said that, I do also feel, rather than celebrating love this one day, why not continue it for the rest of the 364 days as well!

So in addition to showering gifts and expressing profound love for our better halves, we could express our love and concern for that special one in some cute and sweet ways, which are listed below:

What To Do for Your Man on Valentines Day:

  1. Find out what heis poor at or does not care about, purely out of habit. For example, my better-half is not too careful about food. He loves to eat spicy, oily and fried food. If you are in the same boat, why not cook his favorite dish and put in a handwritten note—‘With Love, To You, From Me’. I’m sure he will thank you million times and would be touched to see your concern too.
  2. Most men are not too concerned about their clothes and style in general. If you find a particular color or style of clothing suits him better, buy that for him. Write a chit alongside, to let him know that he will look very good in the shirt you have bought and you could also add some styling tips to go with it. You can strike gold with this idea actually and winning his heart will be a cake-walk for you.
  3. You could also buy him the gadget or any other item that he’s been craving for recently. He will thank you for months to come.
  4. Lastly, men admire women who are always beside them in every situation. Ensure you support him, encourage him and be his best friend always. If he’s anxious about his workplace environment and is reluctant to discuss the same, help him to speak up and do hear him out. Try and give solutions that will be positive for him.

What To Do for The Special Woman in your Life on Valentines Day:

  1. Did you say winning over your lady love is easy-peasy as women are hopelessly romantic? You’re quite mistaken. Though ladies are supposedly very sure about their styling and clothes in general, yet at times, they miss out on it, due to lack of time. Juggling too many things together does take a toll on them. If you have noticed your girl skipping the kajal or lip color, why not gift her a little hamper consisting of things, you think suits her personality best. Also, let her know that though she is beautiful, the hamper contents will make her a wee bit more charming and attractive. She will fall head over heels in love with you.
  2. Have you ever tried to give her a break by doing sweet little things for her? I remember my dad always pitched in to make the morning and evening tea on Sundays. He would tell mom to relax and watch TV, while he made the tea. And boy, what special he would make! Mom loved drinking tea made by him. It’s an amazing way to show you care for the woman of your life.
  3. Majority of men are pathetic at shopping and hate to wait at shops, while the women tried the dresses, chose the colors and fabrics minutely. Try buying her a dress that you are sure she loves and see the magic unfold.
  4. Lastly, though you have read this many times everywhere—women love surprises. So surprise her with flowers, little gifts and tell her the difference she has made to your life by agreeing to be a part of your life.

And here’s the mother of all tips. Never ever argue or fight endlessly. Try and bring a closure to your arguments and fights as soon as possible and laugh it off. Live the moment and forget the past. Let each other know that you both are precious to each other and see love win eventually.
On that note, here’s wishing love to all of you. And those who are yet to find your special someone, do not lose hope. Remember the famous dialogue of Dil To Pagal Hai—Someone somewhere is made for you.

Makeup Class: Difference Between A Bronzer, A Highlighter, An Illuminator & A Brightener

Bronzer Vs Highlighter Vs Illuminator Vs Brightener

Very often than not being a beauty blogger I come across the terms Bronzer, Highlighter, Brightener and Illuminator at least a dozen times a day. These terms are everywhere and people use them in their daily conversation with so much confidence that you'd be surprised at how wrong many of them are in their usages. Oh! Yes even I have made mistakes in the past about their connotations and today armed with research, experiments and well just plain analysis I have reached a consensus where I can now confidently put forth the results of my hard work...

Yes, today ladies and gentlemen, I shall be clearing all the confusion that prevails behind Bronzers, Highlighters, Illuminators and Brighteners!

REVIEW: Johnson's Baby Lotion on Adult Skin

I am itching to do some makeup EOTDs and LOTDs since a while now but with guests at home I am not getting any time... So for a while you guys are stuck with me doing reviews. Not that my reviews do not need much efforts but as compared to EOTDs and LOTDs, reviews are a little bit less demanding where time constraints are concerned... Don't you agree? :)

Today I shall be reviewing the Johnson's baby lotion and before you raise your eye brows and say to yourself "WTF" let me make it absolutely clear that I bought it when I was out of a moisturiser and needed one pronto! This was the only one available and so I just bought it. I figured if it was good for babies, how could it be bad for me? The truth? Read on ;)

Johnson's Baby Lotion is Clinically proven to be mild and mild it sure is. It has a soft and soothing fragrance, which I love. Once applied it gets absorbed really fast and does not leave a residual oiliness or greasiness. It would be perfect for normal ski…

10 Sexist Remarks We Women Tend To Ignore (But Shouldn't!)
This post has been long due...

Every now and then I come across a sexist remark, sometimes intentional, sometimes not and it makes want to write about it... But life happens, I push the remark to the back burner just the way we are conditioned to in order to prevent a confrontation or more likely to "free" our minds for more "important" things and hence the "writing" never happens...
