REVIEW: Kryolan Brush On Concealer in Shade 06

ISLM Writer: Arshi

Dark circles, blemishes, scars, burn marks; at one time or another we all have struggled to conceal these unpleasant imperfections on our face. The concept of color correction in makeup is not new but not everyone is familiar with it. A color wheel can help in concealing these flaws.
Opposite colors in the wheel neutralise each other. Thus, identifying the color of the flaw and then selecting the opposite color from the color wheel can help neutralise and conceal the flaw.

About Kryolan Brush-On Concealer in Shade 06:
Brush-on concealer is a cream make-up to conceal shadows under the eyes, as well as slight discolorations of the skin. This light, but effectively covering concealer corrects and cares the area of skin involved. Brush-on Concealer is offered in a practical, handy applicator with integrated brush.

Price of Kryonal Brush On Concealer

It costs INR 400/-

Ingredients:

This was my first product from Kryolan which is still very special to me. Due to hypertension my mom has heavy dark circles which obviously, my mom wanted to hide. This was first product I bought for her from my very own hard-earned money. The smile on her face each time after using this, makes me thank Kryolan for making such a fantastic product!

Kryolan Brush-On Concealer in Shade 06 comes in a twist-up pen form. You need to twist the base a couple of times to dispense the product. The drawback of this twist-up mechanism is that you cannot put back the product once it is dispensed. So you need to have control over the quantity. The bristles of the brush are made up of plastic but they are soft enough. I take the product on the back of my hand and then apply and blend it with my ring finger.

The Corrector is a bright orange colored creamy concealer which is highly pigmented and which spreads easily on the skin. You have to be quick with its application since it dries super quickly. One needs to be careful while applying color correctors because too much product can give you disastrous results. My mom uses a concealer over this to balance out the orange-ness of the corrector.

Kryolan Brush-On Concealer has an impressive staying power of 7-8 hours and it comes off easily with an oil-based remover. It effectively neutralises heavy dark circles. I even use it over my pimple scars and it does an excellent job of correcting it. However, it won’t conceal an active pimple, you will need a green color corrector for that (remember the color wheel concept?)

Pros of Kryolan Brush-On Concealer in Shade 06:
  1. Neutralises and corrects dark circles and blemishes effectively.
  2. Blends easily and does not settle into fine lines.
  3. Long staying power.
  4. Travel friendly packaging.
  5. Dirty cheap.

Cons of Kryolan Brush-On Concealer in Shade 06:
  1. Opaque tube packaging gives no clue about the quantity left.
  2. Kryolan is not available easily across India.

Overall Rating:
9.5/10

Recommendation:
Kryolan Brush-On Concealer in shade 06 is a pocket-friendly solution for dark circles and skin discolorations. Very little quantity of the product is required for each use so it will last you really long. An absolute must-have for people struggling with dark circles!

Cover The Cover: Harper's Bazaar (India) March 2012

You all know that I love tweaking my blog here and there and making some changes, introducing newer features and well sometimes just hooking the blog onto some social networking site :) Well this time I am introducing a new feature that I promise will be really exciting for all beauty enthusiasts :) To start with this feature is called "Cover The Cover" where I shall be covering the cover pages of our favorite beauty and fashion magazines in terms of make-up. There are times when a certain look on a celeb or a fashion mag just gets to us. Well rather than just mulling over such looks I have decided to give life to such looks (on me) and well do a kind of a faux photo shoot ;) What say? Doesn't it sound like fun? What more? You are all invited to submit your looks with a reference to which magazine and edition you are covering and I'll post it here :)

Today's look is inspired by my latest fav mag Harper's Bazaar. The March edition of Harper's Bazaar is a …

REVIEW: Johnson's Baby Lotion on Adult Skin

I am itching to do some makeup EOTDs and LOTDs since a while now but with guests at home I am not getting any time... So for a while you guys are stuck with me doing reviews. Not that my reviews do not need much efforts but as compared to EOTDs and LOTDs, reviews are a little bit less demanding where time constraints are concerned... Don't you agree? :)

Today I shall be reviewing the Johnson's baby lotion and before you raise your eye brows and say to yourself "WTF" let me make it absolutely clear that I bought it when I was out of a moisturiser and needed one pronto! This was the only one available and so I just bought it. I figured if it was good for babies, how could it be bad for me? The truth? Read on ;)

Johnson's Baby Lotion is Clinically proven to be mild and mild it sure is. It has a soft and soothing fragrance, which I love. Once applied it gets absorbed really fast and does not leave a residual oiliness or greasiness. It would be perfect for normal ski…

REVIEW & LOTD: Faces Long Wear Pencil in Navy Blue

While doing the "Meet The Bloggers" feature every Saturday, I have realised (and I am sure that you all have too) that Faces is fast becoming a very popular brand amongst us especially the Faces Long Wear pencils. So much so that a lot of people prefer Faces Long Wear pencils to even Colorbar I-Glides and that ladies and gentlemen is quite a feat for a newly launched brand. So anyways, I got myself a "Navy Blue" from this range and I must say that I am very happy with it. This is my second pencil from Faces after "Turquoise Blue" and well it hasn't failed me either.
This particular shade is a beautiful deep blue that looks stunning on the eye lids.
