LOTD: Nude/Neutral Makeup Look

Anks (of lifestyleproblog.me) rightly put in a comment on an earlier LOTD post of mine, Only a true Makeup Addict will do a 'look' before heading out to buy aata, arhar ki daal, lobiya, tori and kaddu! Even if jest, the statement makes sense and says a lot about what my priorities are :)

In the same vein, my today's post is based on a look that I did to receive my in-laws from Delhi...

Many of you may know that my in-laws were visiting us and stayed with us for a fortnight or so... They drove down from Delhi (errrr yes to Pune!) and so the moment they entered Maharashtra, the pati and I were constantly calling them up asking them about there whereabouts...

Of course I was also busy giving last minute touch-ups to the decor and brushing off lint from the table linen... That and doing my makeup...

Breakup of the Look:
1. The aim with the makeup was to keep it looking natural and fresh. I did not want to look made-up and wanted to keep the look effortlessly pretty... You know the kinds where you look beautiful without trying too hard...
 2. Since their arrival was expected late in the night, I wanted to keep everything about my look simple and so I opted for a natural looking sheen on my eyes and loads of mascara without a hint of kajal or eyeliner.
3. I had nothing on, on my lips, just a lip balm!
4. I added a touch of colour through an orange blush.

Makeup Products Used:
1. Kryolan Ultra Foundation
2. MAC Studio Fix Powder Foundation
3. Rimmel Volume Flash Scandal Eyes Mascara
4. MAC Patina Eyeshadow
5. Sleek Makeup Blush by 3 in Lace - Crochet
6. Maybelline Baby Lips
7. Kryolan Fixing Spray

So what do you think of the look? Do you also have specific looks planned out when you are expecting guests at home?

Cover The Cover: Harper's Bazaar (India) March 2012

You all know that I love tweaking my blog here and there and making some changes, introducing newer features and well sometimes just hooking the blog onto some social networking site :) Well this time I am introducing a new feature that I promise will be really exciting for all beauty enthusiasts :) To start with this feature is called "Cover The Cover" where I shall be covering the cover pages of our favorite beauty and fashion magazines in terms of make-up. There are times when a certain look on a celeb or a fashion mag just gets to us. Well rather than just mulling over such looks I have decided to give life to such looks (on me) and well do a kind of a faux photo shoot ;) What say? Doesn't it sound like fun? What more? You are all invited to submit your looks with a reference to which magazine and edition you are covering and I'll post it here :)

Today's look is inspired by my latest fav mag Harper's Bazaar. The March edition of Harper's Bazaar is a …

REVIEW: L'Oreal Paris Infallible Blush Paint Longwear High Impact Stick - Fuchsia Fame

Review of L'Oreal Paris Infallible Blush Paint Longwear High Impact Stick - Fuchsia Fame
Right now am sitting at the dining table trying to figure out a way to start this post in an "interesting" way... I am obviously struggling... There are these times when your mind just goes blank and you can't think of anything, right? Yeah, I am having one of those moments...

So, I guess I'll directly dive into the review and not mull around. I bought the L'Oreal Paris Infallible Blush Paint Stick on a whim... I was out window shopping at Shoppers Stop and I just happened to glance at the L'Oreal counter and this cute little stub caught my fancy... The moment I swatched it I knew I had to buy it...

Price of L'Oreal Paris Infallible Blush Paint Stick It costs a whopping INR 999/-

There is nothing much to talk about the packaging. It is exactly what it looks like, a rotating chubby stick with a cap. The plastic doesn't seem cheap and is pretty sturdy. I have d…

REVIEW & LOTD: Faces Long Wear Pencil in Navy Blue

While doing the "Meet The Bloggers" feature every Saturday, I have realised (and I am sure that you all have too) that Faces is fast becoming a very popular brand amongst us especially the Faces Long Wear pencils. So much so that a lot of people prefer Faces Long Wear pencils to even Colorbar I-Glides and that ladies and gentlemen is quite a feat for a newly launched brand. So anyways, I got myself a "Navy Blue" from this range and I must say that I am very happy with it. This is my second pencil from Faces after "Turquoise Blue" and well it hasn't failed me either.
This particular shade is a beautiful deep blue that looks stunning on the eye lids.
