LOTD: Featuring An Orange Lippy For The First Time on ISLM

LOTD: Featuring An Orange Lippy For The First Time on ISLM

If you have been an ISLM reader for a substantial amount of time, then you'd know that I have never ever featured Orange lipstick on ISLM till date... The reason being simply the fact that Orange lipsticks never suited me and hence I have always stayed away from them...

But things change...
    Time heals everything...

And eventually I gave in when I received two kinds of Orange lipsticks as a part of a PR samples kit and tried the shades (though apprehensively)... Can you imagine my shock, bewilderment and amazement when I realized that the shades looks absolutely gorgeous on me (Ahem! I am full of humility, am I not?)...

The range of lipsticks I am talking about here are The L'Oreal Paris Infallible Lipsticks and the shade in question is Always Apricot!

So here's the look I created using this beautiful Orange Lipstick...

Makeup Products Used:
1. Oriflame The One Illuskin Foundation
2. MAC Studio Fix Powder Foundation
3. MAC Soft Brown Eyeshadow
4. MUFE Star Powder in Shade 940
5. Sleek Blush by 3 in Lace
6. L'Oreal Paris Infallible Lipstick in Always Apricot
7. Oriflame The One Volume Blast Mascara

Is there any lipstick shade that you thought will never suit you and then you came across a magical lippy that changed all that for you? Or are you one of those very few lucky ones, on who every color, shade and tone looks beautiful? :)

  1. Orange is my favourite colour in lipsticks. I have a few orange lipsticks from almost all drugstore brands. I bought L'Oréal moist matte lipstick in the shade Orange Power. But it will not suit me. So boring on my lips. It is the most worst lipstick in my collection.
A few days before I added Charismatic coral from infallible range and it suits me.
But I didn't tried this always alricot shade. Surely I will try this one on my usual weekend visit to mall

  2. Why do you avoiding orange lippies? I loved this shade on you. You are looking gorgeous.

  3. Orange lipstick look great on you! You must try more for sure. I love orange lipsticks :)

  4. This shade suits you. Need to try this out :)

  5. I never used orange lip colours too...but off late I have found shades that look good on me :)
Loreal shine caresse in Faye is also a gorgeous shade :)

Cover The Cover: Harper's Bazaar (India) March 2012

You all know that I love tweaking my blog here and there and making some changes, introducing newer features and well sometimes just hooking the blog onto some social networking site :) Well this time I am introducing a new feature that I promise will be really exciting for all beauty enthusiasts :) To start with this feature is called "Cover The Cover" where I shall be covering the cover pages of our favorite beauty and fashion magazines in terms of make-up. There are times when a certain look on a celeb or a fashion mag just gets to us. Well rather than just mulling over such looks I have decided to give life to such looks (on me) and well do a kind of a faux photo shoot ;) What say? Doesn't it sound like fun? What more? You are all invited to submit your looks with a reference to which magazine and edition you are covering and I'll post it here :)

Today's look is inspired by my latest fav mag Harper's Bazaar. The March edition of Harper's Bazaar is a …

REVIEW: Johnson's Baby Lotion on Adult Skin

I am itching to do some makeup EOTDs and LOTDs since a while now but with guests at home I am not getting any time... So for a while you guys are stuck with me doing reviews. Not that my reviews do not need much efforts but as compared to EOTDs and LOTDs, reviews are a little bit less demanding where time constraints are concerned... Don't you agree? :)

Today I shall be reviewing the Johnson's baby lotion and before you raise your eye brows and say to yourself "WTF" let me make it absolutely clear that I bought it when I was out of a moisturiser and needed one pronto! This was the only one available and so I just bought it. I figured if it was good for babies, how could it be bad for me? The truth? Read on ;)

Johnson's Baby Lotion is Clinically proven to be mild and mild it sure is. It has a soft and soothing fragrance, which I love. Once applied it gets absorbed really fast and does not leave a residual oiliness or greasiness. It would be perfect for normal ski…

REVIEW & LOTD: Faces Long Wear Pencil in Navy Blue

While doing the "Meet The Bloggers" feature every Saturday, I have realised (and I am sure that you all have too) that Faces is fast becoming a very popular brand amongst us especially the Faces Long Wear pencils. So much so that a lot of people prefer Faces Long Wear pencils to even Colorbar I-Glides and that ladies and gentlemen is quite a feat for a newly launched brand. So anyways, I got myself a "Navy Blue" from this range and I must say that I am very happy with it. This is my second pencil from Faces after "Turquoise Blue" and well it hasn't failed me either.
This particular shade is a beautiful deep blue that looks stunning on the eye lids.
