We Need To Know: Breast Cancer Awareness

As October and Breast Cancer Awareness comes to an end, you might be suffering from an overdose on everything pink.  However, even if you feel like breast cancer awareness is getting played out, breast cancer awareness is actually more important than ever- and here’s why.

The good news: according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, U.S. deaths from breast cancer have declined 35% from 1990 to 2011 (the most recent year with data). In addition, the number of nonprofits whose mission is to fight breast cancer has increased dramatically. Since 1989, the number of breast cancer-focused charities has grown from very few to over 200, and these foundations are responsible for raising over $550 million every year.

These numbers are wonderful progress over the past twenty or so years; however, there’s still room for improvement. Worldwide, breast cancer is still the most common form of cancer that women get, with nearly 17 million cases diagnosed in 2012, according to the World Health Organization. And in the U.S., cases are actually rising: in 2009, 192,370 American women were diagnosed with breast cancer, and that number is expected to increase to 232,670 this year, according to the American Cancer Society.

The fight against breast cancer is far from over, and it’s time to use the foundation and audience breast cancer awareness has built to go beyond simple pink campaigns and plan impactful, inspiring campaigns

Cover The Cover: Harper's Bazaar (India) March 2012

You all know that I love tweaking my blog here and there and making some changes, introducing newer features and well sometimes just hooking the blog onto some social networking site :) Well this time I am introducing a new feature that I promise will be really exciting for all beauty enthusiasts :) To start with this feature is called "Cover The Cover" where I shall be covering the cover pages of our favorite beauty and fashion magazines in terms of make-up. There are times when a certain look on a celeb or a fashion mag just gets to us. Well rather than just mulling over such looks I have decided to give life to such looks (on me) and well do a kind of a faux photo shoot ;) What say? Doesn't it sound like fun? What more? You are all invited to submit your looks with a reference to which magazine and edition you are covering and I'll post it here :)

Today's look is inspired by my latest fav mag Harper's Bazaar. The March edition of Harper's Bazaar is a …

Review of L'Oreal Paris Infallible Blush Paint Longwear High Impact Stick - Fuchsia Fame
Right now am sitting at the dining table trying to figure out a way to start this post in an "interesting" way... I am obviously struggling... There are these times when your mind just goes blank and you can't think of anything, right? Yeah, I am having one of those moments...

So, I guess I'll directly dive into the review and not mull around. I bought the L'Oreal Paris Infallible Blush Paint Stick on a whim... I was out window shopping at Shoppers Stop and I just happened to glance at the L'Oreal counter and this cute little stub caught my fancy... The moment I swatched it I knew I had to buy it...

Price of L'Oreal Paris Infallible Blush Paint Stick It costs a whopping INR 999/-

There is nothing much to talk about the packaging. It is exactly what it looks like, a rotating chubby stick with a cap. The plastic doesn't seem cheap and is pretty sturdy. I have d…

How I Wear My Denim Jacket To Be In Trend for 2018

How I Wear My Denim Jacket To Be In Trend for 2018 Denim is forever. It's versatility makes it a classic and in the form of a jacket it not just looks dapper and en vogue but is also comfortable and convenient... I love denim jackets because they are perfect for Pune's so called Winters and because they are the best accessories for any kind of outfit...

Going through some of the Fall Winter 2017-18 collections from the likes of Calvin Klein, Christian Dior and Stella McCartney, denim on denim seemed to be the trend in boxy and boyish silhouettes. I am not a very big fan of denim and denim and hence I prefer to pair my boxy denim jacket with a flowy, floral dress that makes the look strike a balance between feminine and androgynous.
