BUDGET WEDNESDAYS: Review of NIVEA Fruity Shine Lip Balm in Strawberry

Review of Nivea Fruity Shine Lip Balm in Strawberry

A day late :)

Guest Post By: Pallavi

I am quite skeptical in terms of trying lip products. I think that I will end up looking like a clown in almost all the colors. So, I prefer maintaining a safe distance.  But some day or the other I get tempted and while mall hopping I gathered courage and added this product to my cart.  Let's see if it impressed me or not.

Product claims:
Do your lips need soft care and extra miniaturization? Try Nivea fruity shine strawberry
1. It has a delicious fruity scent combined with smoothing, long lasting care for your lips.
2. It naturally enhances your lips with shimmering pigments and a soft glossy colour.
3. Protect your lips from harmful UVA & UVB rays with SPF10..

Price of Nivea Fruity Shine Lip Balms

INR 129 for 4.8 grams.

The Nivea lip balm comes in a small pocket sized twist up tube. The balm can easily be secured in pocket without any fear of product wastage. The cap once locked doesn't come out without twisting which prevents product spillage. Thus, making the product last longer. It comes in red, plastic cover with NIVEA embossed on the top and the product details mentioned in that tube. The ingredient list is not mentioned in the tube which I really don't appreciate.  I like to be known full details of what I am using.

The shade I am reviewing here is strawberry, but as per the name the shade appears to be more of red family than pink. It appears red in my swatch as well as on lips. I have tried this color both on my mother's as well as my lips and both appeared red. I really don't know what's with this shade. Very subtle hint of shimmer can be seen on the tube but coming in contact with lips it leaves behind a healthy shine nothing over the top.

Pigmentation wise it gives little color on single swipe. You can always build up the color with multiple swipes. For lip beginner folks like me single swipe seems to be perfect. But now comes the sad part; the longevity of the balm is very poor.  They last without meals for 40 mins to 1 hour and they can't survive meals even they seem to disappear after a glass of water only. So, that is very sad for me.
These balms are moisturizing enough. It is perfect for summers minus the staying power. And in winters those who don't have severe dry chapped lips can also use them. The tube lasts quite long. With regular usage it will easily last you 2 months. So, that's fine...isn't it girls.
Summing up the review

1. Wide availability
2. Fuss free packaging
3. Price economical
4. Pigmentation wise good
5. Moisturizing enough
6. Tube lasts long

1. Shade different from the shade name
2. Ingredient list not mentioned
3. Longevity quite poor

Overall Rating:

Would I repurchase?
No, there are many more to try in this wide makeup industry.

Would I recommend?
The lip balm would have been a complete hit if the staying power could be improved. Still at this price it is not that bad, it’s worth a try from my side.

REVIEW: Johnson's Baby Lotion on Adult Skin

I am itching to do some makeup EOTDs and LOTDs since a while now but with guests at home I am not getting any time... So for a while you guys are stuck with me doing reviews. Not that my reviews do not need much efforts but as compared to EOTDs and LOTDs, reviews are a little bit less demanding where time constraints are concerned... Don't you agree? :) Today I shall be reviewing the Johnson's baby lotion and before you raise your eye brows and say to yourself "WTF" let me make it absolutely clear that I bought it when I was out of a moisturiser and needed one pronto! This was the only one available and so I just bought it. I figured if it was good for babies, how could it be bad for me? The truth? Read on ;) Johnson's Baby Lotion is Clinically proven to be mild and mild it sure is. It has a soft and soothing fragrance, which I love. Once applied it gets absorbed really fast and does not leave a residual oiliness or greasiness. It would be perfect for normal

In order to lose weight one needs to burn more calories than you take in. 2. The human body takes about only 1200 calories to do the routine functions of respiration, digestion etc. 3. Just because you are not taking 3 full meals a day does not mean that you are starving yourself or ar

Makeup Class: Difference Between A Bronzer, A Highlighter, An Illuminator & A Brightener

Bronzer Vs Highlighter Vs Illuminator Vs Brightener  Very often than not being a beauty blogger I come across the terms Bronzer, Highlighter, Brightener and Illuminator at least a dozen times a day. These terms are everywhere and people use them in their daily conversation with so much confidence that you'd be surprised at how wrong many of them are in their usages. Oh! Yes even I have made mistakes in the past about their connotations and today armed with research, experiments and well just plain analysis I have reached a consensus where I can now confidently put forth the results of my hard work... Yes, today ladies and gentlemen, I shall be clearing all the confusion that prevails behind Bronzers, Highlighters, Illuminators and Brighteners!
