REVIEW: L'Oreal Moist Mat (Matte) Lipstick in Lincoln Rose

Review of L'Oreal Moist Mat (Matte) Lipstick in Lincoln Rose

The most talked about and perhaps the most sought after lipstick shade from L'Oreal's L'Ore Lumiere Cannes Film Festival 2014 collection is Lincoln Rose. And the whole hullabaloo was created by our erstwhile Miss World, Ashwarya Rai who looked ethereally beautiful in it...
So today ladies and gentlemen, I am taking this opportunity to review this gorgeous shade of Red that promises to suit all Indian skintones!

L'Oreal Moist Mat Lipstick in Lincoln Rose is a pinkish (almost scarlet) Red that would suit almost all Indian skintones. It isn't too bright, it isn't maroon-ish, it isn't neon-y, its just pure Red... The lipstick isn't overly glossy and neither is it too matte, it has the perfect sheen and the right amount of matte-ness...
The shade Lincoln Rose somehow reminds me of Colorbar Velvet Matte Lipstick in Hot Hot Hot.

Price of L'Oreal Moist Matte (Mat) Lipsticks

They cost a whopping INR 899/- for a tube

Texture wise L'Oreal Moist Matte (Mat) lipsticks are very light and even though have amazing pigmentation, they don't feel heavy on your lips. Even after multiple coats you rarely realise that you are actually wearing anything on your lips.

The lipsticks have an opaque finish, they are not sheer and have a pretty decent staying power. After about 5 hours they start to fade into an even stain that looks lovely and natural at the same time.

They however seem a little fragile cause my stick broke while I was swatching it for the first time. Am not sure if it was my piece or if the range is a little flimsy.

All in all a great product and a gorgeous shade.
Have you tried this shade?
Which is your favorite shade from this range?

  1. Its a gorgeous look beautiful.

  2. Gosh! This looks so gorgeous on you!
But do you think it's better to drop a few more bucks and splurge on a MAC lipstick?
Because damn! It's a pretty colour but 900 bucks? *sigh*

  3. Strange that my lipstick broke too, that too within a week of buying it and having kept it in my bag. Maybe it's because of the weather, but anyway its a beautiful shade and I loved it too :)

  4. Pretty shade and looks amazing on you... :-)

  5. Fragrances for Everyone . Fragrances such as Pineapple, Vetiver, Red Fruits, Apple, Lemon, Peony, Freesia, Musk, Cedar, Tiare Flower, Sandalwood, Patchouli, Bergamot, Lilac, Vanilla

  6. Lovely shade and you are looking gorgeous doll !

  7. I have orange power and maple mocha from this range. my orange power had broken in the tube on the very first swatch on my lips. so I didn't used maple mocha yet.

  8. Hi Samyukta, nice blog and your eyes, i must say, are luvly! It's not just your stick but the bullet of my Lincoln Rose lipstick was broken from the bottom. Though fragile but the best lipstick i ever own!
    A beautiful colour.

Cover The Cover: Harper's Bazaar (India) March 2012

You all know that I love tweaking my blog here and there and making some changes, introducing newer features and well sometimes just hooking the blog onto some social networking site :) Well this time I am introducing a new feature that I promise will be really exciting for all beauty enthusiasts :) To start with this feature is called "Cover The Cover" where I shall be covering the cover pages of our favorite beauty and fashion magazines in terms of make-up. There are times when a certain look on a celeb or a fashion mag just gets to us. Well rather than just mulling over such looks I have decided to give life to such looks (on me) and well do a kind of a faux photo shoot ;) What say? Doesn't it sound like fun? What more? You are all invited to submit your looks with a reference to which magazine and edition you are covering and I'll post it here :)

Today's look is inspired by my latest fav mag Harper's Bazaar. The March edition of Harper's Bazaar is a …

REVIEW: Johnson's Baby Lotion on Adult Skin

I am itching to do some makeup EOTDs and LOTDs since a while now but with guests at home I am not getting any time... So for a while you guys are stuck with me doing reviews. Not that my reviews do not need much efforts but as compared to EOTDs and LOTDs, reviews are a little bit less demanding where time constraints are concerned... Don't you agree? :)

Today I shall be reviewing the Johnson's baby lotion and before you raise your eye brows and say to yourself "WTF" let me make it absolutely clear that I bought it when I was out of a moisturiser and needed one pronto! This was the only one available and so I just bought it. I figured if it was good for babies, how could it be bad for me? The truth? Read on ;)

Johnson's Baby Lotion is Clinically proven to be mild and mild it sure is. It has a soft and soothing fragrance, which I love. Once applied it gets absorbed really fast and does not leave a residual oiliness or greasiness. It would be perfect for normal ski…

REVIEW & LOTD: Faces Long Wear Pencil in Navy Blue

While doing the "Meet The Bloggers" feature every Saturday, I have realised (and I am sure that you all have too) that Faces is fast becoming a very popular brand amongst us especially the Faces Long Wear pencils. So much so that a lot of people prefer Faces Long Wear pencils to even Colorbar I-Glides and that ladies and gentlemen is quite a feat for a newly launched brand. So anyways, I got myself a "Navy Blue" from this range and I must say that I am very happy with it. This is my second pencil from Faces after "Turquoise Blue" and well it hasn't failed me either.
This particular shade is a beautiful deep blue that looks stunning on the eye lids.
