Maybelline COlorsesnational Lipstick in Make Me Pink - Review & Swatches

Review of Maybelline Colorsensational Lipstick in Make Me Pink

Have you seen Nicki Minaj’s signature lip colour? The bright mauve lavender that is quirky yet flattering for her skin tone. While it is a very pretty shade it certainly isn’t suitable for a whole lot of skin tones.
The lipstick I am now going to review is something similar and was a gift from my evidently colour blind brother. :p

Price of Maybelline Colorsensational Lipsticks

They cost INR 350/-

What Maybelline Colorsensational Make Me Pink claims :
- Crisper color from pure pigments.
- Creamier feel from nourishing honey nectar
- Lipcolor so rich, so stunning sensational

My views on Maybelline Colorsensational Make Me Pink:
I love me some Maybelline but darn! This colour is horrendously garish on me! I am sure there are plenty of ebony skinned/ dusky women who’ll rock this shade like there is no tomorrow but I look like a sallow and yellow teeth-ed crone in this lipstick. This lipstick makes me look pale and drawn  out and certainly isn’t universally flattering.

I can’t fault it’s formula as it is very pigmented and has an attractive glossy finish but it has the tendency to look patchy especially if you suffer from dry patches on your lips like I do. But at this price point you can work around the flaws of this emollient formula. All you need to do is properly exfoliate you lips so that the lipstick glides smoothly. After which it is sure to last a good 2-3 hours after which it begins to fade, starting from the centre of your lips. The longevity can be improved by using the apply-blot-reapply method which can make it last a good 4-5 hours but if you wish to reapply after this duration, you need to scrub off all remnants of the lipstick and start over. Something that might be just a tad too cumbersome to bother with, if you know what I mean. :p

The Maybelline ColorSensational Range has a wide array of options out of which every skin tone is sure to find a colour that they can totally rock. These lipsticks pack a punch as far as pigmentation is concerned and offer a bright glossy finish that lasts for atleast 2 hours after which the lipstick begins to lose its sheen and colour. But nevertheless, picking up one colour from this range is certainly a good call! My favourite is Fatal Red, what is yours?

What I like about Maybelline Colorsensational Make Me Pink:
1. Inexpensive
2. Pigmented
3. Wide range of colours
4. Travel safe packaging
5. Covers lip pigmentation very well
6. Attractive packaging
7. Glossy finish

What I dislike about Maybelline Colorsensational Make Me Pink:
1. Can look OTT
2. Contains parabens
3. Doesn’t last all that long
4. Transfers
5. Fades unevenly
6. Matte lovers should stay far away
7. Colour may not suit all skin tones
8. Finish can look patchy

Will I repurchase Maybelline Colorsensational Make Me Pink?
Nope! Nope! Nope! I hate this colour against my skintone!

Product Rating:

  1. I'm sorry but i did not like the shade at all :(

  2. I love the shade though i have to agree it wont suite all skin tones

Makeup Class: Difference Between A Bronzer, A Highlighter, An Illuminator & A Brightener

Bronzer Vs Highlighter Vs Illuminator Vs Brightener

Very often than not being a beauty blogger I come across the terms Bronzer, Highlighter, Brightener and Illuminator at least a dozen times a day. These terms are everywhere and people use them in their daily conversation with so much confidence that you'd be surprised at how wrong many of them are in their usages. Oh! Yes even I have made mistakes in the past about their connotations and today armed with research, experiments and well just plain analysis I have reached a consensus where I can now confidently put forth the results of my hard work...

Yes, today ladies and gentlemen, I shall be clearing all the confusion that prevails behind Bronzers, Highlighters, Illuminators and Brighteners!

REVIEW: Johnson's Baby Lotion on Adult Skin

I am itching to do some makeup EOTDs and LOTDs since a while now but with guests at home I am not getting any time... So for a while you guys are stuck with me doing reviews. Not that my reviews do not need much efforts but as compared to EOTDs and LOTDs, reviews are a little bit less demanding where time constraints are concerned... Don't you agree? :)

Today I shall be reviewing the Johnson's baby lotion and before you raise your eye brows and say to yourself "WTF" let me make it absolutely clear that I bought it when I was out of a moisturiser and needed one pronto! This was the only one available and so I just bought it. I figured if it was good for babies, how could it be bad for me? The truth? Read on ;)

Johnson's Baby Lotion is Clinically proven to be mild and mild it sure is. It has a soft and soothing fragrance, which I love. Once applied it gets absorbed really fast and does not leave a residual oiliness or greasiness. It would be perfect for normal ski…

Review of MAC Studio Fix Fluid Foundation In Shade NC42

Guest Post By: Rmyah

There are days when I just cannot help look at myself through any reflective surface that I can. Be it mirrors, glass doors, rear view mirrors, the back of a spoon and even a pond. And then there are days when I wished everyone was blind, every mirror shattered, the serene water turbulent, anything to avoid me seeing my face. One such day when my skin was going through a blearrrgh phase I decided to put my face on the web and show you how I deal with it. My savior is the MAC studio fix fluid foundation which has been my HG foundation for about three months now.
