REVIEW & SWATCHES: L'Oreal Paris Shine Caresse Lip Colors

Review of L'Oreal Paris Shine Caresse Lip Colors in Eve and Pretty Woman

I am a sucker for glass products, pretty things and dabbas and dibbis of all sizes. But what I really am a sucker for is beautiful packaging. So imagine my glee when I receive these beauties from L'Oreal Paris in my mail. Their classy, shiny casing and more than gorgeous shades were enough to sweep me off my feet... But when I started using them I couldn't help but fall for this amazing product hook, line and sinker... Read on to know more :)

When I first received these products, I expected them to be just like any other lip glosses and polishes that are currently all over the beauty scene and so I delayed using them for almost 2 days. Finally, one fine Monday morning, before going to work and wanting to cheer myself up from the Monday blues, I put my hand in my PR sample (yet to be tested) basket and brought out these beauties... I debated with myself over which shade would be appropriate for a Monday morning meeting and somehow the nude shade called Pretty Woman won over the bright Raspberry pink called Eve...

Price of L'Oreal Paris Shine Caresse Lip Colors

They cost INR 499/- for 6 ml of product

I applied the gloss and the 2 things that caught my attention immediately were the fact the applicator wasn't really a doe-foot shaped but a heart shaped one and the other that the gloss smelled of fresh Rose water... The inverted heart shaped applicator is sheer genius and it covers one's lips so well and the pointed part of the heart helps in accurately applying the product over the edges of one's lips...

The yummy rose water flavour is sure a welcome change from candy flavored and strawberry flavored and honestly vanilla flavored lipsticks and so refreshing on a warm Summer day...
Texture wise the L'Oreal Paris Shine Caresse Lip Colors is like water, very very light weight and cool to touch... I love them hands down!

L'Oreal Paris Shine Caresse Lip Color in Pretty Woman

One apprehension that I had when I saw how sheer and light they looked on swatching was that how ghastly they would look on my pigmented lips but wonders of wonders, these lip colors after 30 seconds of application darkened a little and opaquely covered my pigmented lips making the color look all even and smoothly applied :)

These lip colors stay on for pretty long as well and leave a very pretty and even (thank God!) stain behind on the lips that looks naturally very alluring and even innocently pretty :) The only con of the product is that after about 4 hours of wear I found my lips going a little dry. But that issue was soon overcome by wearing a lip balm underneath :)

Recommendation
I have nothing to say except that if you don't try them out then you sure are missing out on something amazing!

Cover The Cover: Harper's Bazaar (India) March 2012

You all know that I love tweaking my blog here and there and making some changes, introducing newer features and well sometimes just hooking the blog onto some social networking site :) Well this time I am introducing a new feature that I promise will be really exciting for all beauty enthusiasts :) To start with this feature is called "Cover The Cover" where I shall be covering the cover pages of our favorite beauty and fashion magazines in terms of make-up. There are times when a certain look on a celeb or a fashion mag just gets to us. Well rather than just mulling over such looks I have decided to give life to such looks (on me) and well do a kind of a faux photo shoot ;) What say? Doesn't it sound like fun? What more? You are all invited to submit your looks with a reference to which magazine and edition you are covering and I'll post it here :)

Today's look is inspired by my latest fav mag Harper's Bazaar. The March edition of Harper's Bazaar is a …

REVIEW: Johnson's Baby Lotion on Adult Skin

I am itching to do some makeup EOTDs and LOTDs since a while now but with guests at home I am not getting any time... So for a while you guys are stuck with me doing reviews. Not that my reviews do not need much efforts but as compared to EOTDs and LOTDs, reviews are a little bit less demanding where time constraints are concerned... Don't you agree? :)

Today I shall be reviewing the Johnson's baby lotion and before you raise your eye brows and say to yourself "WTF" let me make it absolutely clear that I bought it when I was out of a moisturiser and needed one pronto! This was the only one available and so I just bought it. I figured if it was good for babies, how could it be bad for me? The truth? Read on ;)

Johnson's Baby Lotion is Clinically proven to be mild and mild it sure is. It has a soft and soothing fragrance, which I love. Once applied it gets absorbed really fast and does not leave a residual oiliness or greasiness. It would be perfect for normal ski…

REVIEW & LOTD: Faces Long Wear Pencil in Navy Blue

While doing the "Meet The Bloggers" feature every Saturday, I have realised (and I am sure that you all have too) that Faces is fast becoming a very popular brand amongst us especially the Faces Long Wear pencils. So much so that a lot of people prefer Faces Long Wear pencils to even Colorbar I-Glides and that ladies and gentlemen is quite a feat for a newly launched brand. So anyways, I got myself a "Navy Blue" from this range and I must say that I am very happy with it. This is my second pencil from Faces after "Turquoise Blue" and well it hasn't failed me either.
This particular shade is a beautiful deep blue that looks stunning on the eye lids.

Ooooohss And Aaahhss!! 1. Really really stays on forever. 2. Doesn't smudge on my oily lids even after 8 hours of wear. 3. Friendly to the pocket 4. Faces have become quite easily available now. 5. They do not cause any allergies or reactions. 6. They are waterline safe a…
