Makeup For Office: Statement Eyes & Glossy Lips

Makeup For Office That's All About Statement Eyes and Glossy Lips!

Continuing with my previous week's trend of going with statement eyes and glossy lips, my last week too saw me doing similar makeup... However a little change that I did last week was mix it up with colored eye liners as well. One thing that I realised while sticking to my New Year Resolution of doing amekup everyday to work is that initially it does feel like a bother but once you've survived a week it starts to get really easy and sometimes even a lot of fun :)

Last week was one crazy week for me. From putting long hours at work, introducing bits and pieces of yoga into my fitness regime, getting used to my new cook, coordinating with my tailor in Bombay and fitting in some beauty product reviews, it was packed! But I still managed to get a decent amount of makeup done all 5 days of the week and the following two looks were the highlights!

Look #1

This look consists of a wash of a neutral brown eyeshadow on the lids and the use a little highlighter on the browbone area. The eyeshadow I have used is Faces Mineral Eye Shine Trio in Beechwood (Review HERE). On my cheeks I have used my favorite everyday blush, Colorbar Blush in Plum Brown (review HERE) and on my lips is Maybelline Colorsensational Hi Shine Lip Gloss in Raspberry Reflections (review HERE).

Look #2

Maybelline 36H Lasting Drama Gel Liner

In this look I have given more attention to the eyes. I have used a jet black kohl to line my eyes and then applied a blue liner on the outer corners of my eyes for a little highlight and added dimension. I have used Maybelline 36H Lasting Drama Gel Liner (review HERE) and Faces Long Wear Pencil in Navy Blue (review HERE). On my cheeks is Maybelline Cheeky Glow Blush in Creamy Cinnamon (review HERE) and I have applied Lakme Absolute Gloss Stylist Lip Gloss in Burgundy Burn on my lips.

Which look do you prefer?
What were your makeup looks like last week?

Makeup Class: Difference Between A Bronzer, A Highlighter, An Illuminator & A Brightener

Bronzer Vs Highlighter Vs Illuminator Vs Brightener

Very often than not being a beauty blogger I come across the terms Bronzer, Highlighter, Brightener and Illuminator at least a dozen times a day. These terms are everywhere and people use them in their daily conversation with so much confidence that you'd be surprised at how wrong many of them are in their usages. Oh! Yes even I have made mistakes in the past about their connotations and today armed with research, experiments and well just plain analysis I have reached a consensus where I can now confidently put forth the results of my hard work...

Yes, today ladies and gentlemen, I shall be clearing all the confusion that prevails behind Bronzers, Highlighters, Illuminators and Brighteners!

REVIEW: Johnson's Baby Lotion on Adult Skin

I am itching to do some makeup EOTDs and LOTDs since a while now but with guests at home I am not getting any time... So for a while you guys are stuck with me doing reviews. Not that my reviews do not need much efforts but as compared to EOTDs and LOTDs, reviews are a little bit less demanding where time constraints are concerned... Don't you agree? :)

Today I shall be reviewing the Johnson's baby lotion and before you raise your eye brows and say to yourself "WTF" let me make it absolutely clear that I bought it when I was out of a moisturiser and needed one pronto! This was the only one available and so I just bought it. I figured if it was good for babies, how could it be bad for me? The truth? Read on ;)

Johnson's Baby Lotion is Clinically proven to be mild and mild it sure is. It has a soft and soothing fragrance, which I love. Once applied it gets absorbed really fast and does not leave a residual oiliness or greasiness. It would be perfect for normal ski…

10 Best Loose Powders Available in India

10 Best Loose Powders Available in IndiaISLM Writer: Sanchita

Summer is going to knock on the door soon and we, who are blessed (or cursed) with oily skin, will crawl back to our powders and/or matte foundations to keep the skin oil-free as far as possible. Being oily skinned, I have always found my way back to loose powders even though their packaging is slightly messy. This is because loose or translucent powders are more finely milled than the compact versions and hence gives you an even look rather than a made-up cakey one. Compact has the tendency to look rough under eyes or around the mouth whereas loose powders work excellently. No wonder, oily skin stays matte for longer duration than it does with the compact ones. Mostly, it gives sheer to buildable coverage and sits on the skin like a natural finish look.
