Skin Care: My Favorite Moisturisers, Creams, Lotions and Other Potions This Winter!

My Top Creams & Moisturizers This Winter

My dresser is a mess... My cupboard is a mess... My bed is not made... My kitchen feels cold and sterile... My laundry basket is full... All this because of no sun... Come winters and the winter sun just doesn't do it for me any more... Without the Sun I am irritable, lethargic to the point of being a sloth, my house becomes a mess and my skin and hair just go for a toss! I feel lifeless without the sun and so the pati calls me "jadoo", you know of the Koi Mil Gaya Fame... Ummm yeah... No surprise there!

So finally I pulled myself up and decided to make Winters work for me... I rounded up my favorite skin care products that work wonders for me and here I am sharing it with you all :)

My Top 6 Winter Skincare Products (Dry Skin)

1. The Body Shop Body Butter in Brazil Nut

It is no secret that I am a TBS Body Butter lover so my Winter skincare starts and ends with a body butter. After having tried out so many, I zeroed onto this Brazil Nut Body Butter. Its moisturising properties and the way it makes me smell yummy the whole day makes it a clear winner!

2. The Body Shop Vitamin E Night Cream

Women with dry skin need to be extra careful of the cold and the dryness it brings along with it. This is due to the fact that we tend show wrinkles earlier than our oily skin counter parts... Thus a hydrating and a repairing night cream is a must and The Body Shop Vitamin E Night Cream is my favorite on all accounts :)

3. The Body Shop Cocoa Butter Hydrating Moisturising Stick

This was a implusive purchase but something that I don't regret picking up. It is a moisturising stick and is best used for very dry parts of your body like elbows and knees. I personally use it as a chapstick as well... It smells divine and is a quick fix for itchy dry areas...

4. Pond's Silk Cream

This was a PR product and it had been a while I had picked up any Pond's product... So when I received this in my mail, I was pleasantly surprised by how well it worked for me :) I apply it as a day cream under my makeup and even though I work in an AC environment all day my face never feels dry... The subtle Pond's fragrance is a plus as it brings back all childhood memories for me :)

5. Olay Total Effects 7-In-1 Cream + Serum Duo

Another PR product that achieves cult status on ISLM... This is one product that I feel works wonders for me... I generally wear it when I wear no base makeup at all and that means almost 70% of my time... It moisturises, it provides sunscreen and it is anti-aging... What else could I ever ask for!

6. Vaseline Cocoa Radiant Vitalising Body Gel Oil

Now this is one product that  have recently started using all thanks to my bestie for bringing it for me all the way from the US... It claims to be a gel oil and is perfect for applying all over your body after a hot shower. It locks in moisture and keeps your skin supple and glowing... It is a serious threat to my Body Butter addiction and I know I will eventually choose one over the other... Till then let me have both co-exist in harmony atleast this winter :)

So what products constitute your Winter skin care kitty?
Are you a one product for all kind of a person or do you need various potions to help you survive winter?

Cover The Cover: Harper's Bazaar (India) March 2012

You all know that I love tweaking my blog here and there and making some changes, introducing newer features and well sometimes just hooking the blog onto some social networking site :) Well this time I am introducing a new feature that I promise will be really exciting for all beauty enthusiasts :) To start with this feature is called "Cover The Cover" where I shall be covering the cover pages of our favorite beauty and fashion magazines in terms of make-up. There are times when a certain look on a celeb or a fashion mag just gets to us. Well rather than just mulling over such looks I have decided to give life to such looks (on me) and well do a kind of a faux photo shoot ;) What say? Doesn't it sound like fun? What more? You are all invited to submit your looks with a reference to which magazine and edition you are covering and I'll post it here :)

Today's look is inspired by my latest fav mag Harper's Bazaar. The March edition of Harper's Bazaar is a …

REVIEW & LOTD: Faces Long Wear Pencil in Navy Blue

While doing the "Meet The Bloggers" feature every Saturday, I have realised (and I am sure that you all have too) that Faces is fast becoming a very popular brand amongst us especially the Faces Long Wear pencils. So much so that a lot of people prefer Faces Long Wear pencils to even Colorbar I-Glides and that ladies and gentlemen is quite a feat for a newly launched brand. So anyways, I got myself a "Navy Blue" from this range and I must say that I am very happy with it. This is my second pencil from Faces after "Turquoise Blue" and well it hasn't failed me either.
This particular shade is a beautiful deep blue that looks stunning on the eye lids.

Ooooohss And Aaahhss!! 1. Really really stays on forever. 2. Doesn't smudge on my oily lids even after 8 hours of wear. 3. Friendly to the pocket 4. Faces have become quite easily available now. 5. They do not cause any allergies or reactions. 6. They are waterline safe a…

REVIEW: Johnson's Baby Lotion on Adult Skin

I am itching to do some makeup EOTDs and LOTDs since a while now but with guests at home I am not getting any time... So for a while you guys are stuck with me doing reviews. Not that my reviews do not need much efforts but as compared to EOTDs and LOTDs, reviews are a little bit less demanding where time constraints are concerned... Don't you agree? :)

Today I shall be reviewing the Johnson's baby lotion and before you raise your eye brows and say to yourself "WTF" let me make it absolutely clear that I bought it when I was out of a moisturiser and needed one pronto! This was the only one available and so I just bought it. I figured if it was good for babies, how could it be bad for me? The truth? Read on ;)

Johnson's Baby Lotion is Clinically proven to be mild and mild it sure is. It has a soft and soothing fragrance, which I love. Once applied it gets absorbed really fast and does not leave a residual oiliness or greasiness. It would be perfect for normal ski…
