Benefit They're Real Mascara Review

Review of Benefit Cosmetics They're Real Mascara

During my trip to Delhi this Diwali, I created a pretty decent dent in my bank  balance when I decided to get a taste of Sephora and Bobbi Brown. And even though I have been using the products day-in and day-out, it wouldn't be fair if I didn't say that I haven't been doing justice to them in terms of belting out reviews on the blog...
Of course I did do a HAUL post of sorts but I think the real fun and the juicy part are the reviews :)

So, starting with the series, I decided to single out the Benefit They're Real Mascara out fo the whole lot to start with :)

Benefit They're Real Mascara Review

Of course you've heard about this mascara and of course you've heard non-Indian bloggers rave about it like nobody's business. I had done so too and hence when I wandered into Sephora, the first I did was walk straight to the Benefit Cosmetics aisle... Now Benefit Cosmetics is one brand that gives the best names to its products closely followed by Soap & Glory and NARS... So even though they very creatively named their mascara They're Real, I was a little skeptical about succumbing to its charm all because it came with a whopping price tag!

Price of Benefit Cosmetics They're Real Mascara in India

It costs INR 1850/-

But I still gave into temptation solely because everything in Sephora did cost an average of INR 1200/- Plus everyone going GaGa over this particular mascara globally did help my decision as well...

So once I brought it home, I photographed it, lovingly looked at it indulgently and prayed for it to work for me as my non-existant lashes can always use something to perk them up :D

I started using it finally and it took me a few days to get used to the sparse rubberized brush it comes with. But after I got the hang of it, there was no looking back... Formula wise the mascara is a little runny and I love it cause it prevents clumping even after 3 coats of the product.

How To Use Benefit They're Real Mascara

Since, the mascara wand comes with a cylindrical brush that does not taper at the top, the trick is to apply a single coat of product horizontally, the way you apply any mascara, then hold the wand vertically and apply one coat on the lashes and finally apply a third coat horizontally again.
Do note that this trick does not work with wands/brushes that taper at the top.

What I really loved about the mascara is that it genuinely and very visibly lengthened and volumised my lashes. They went from a 0 to a straight 9. However, one thing that was missing was it did not have any curling effect on my lashes :/

Benefit They're Real Mascara has a super lengthening and volumizing effect on even non-existant lashes and hence it sure is worth a shot! However, if you are looking for a curling mascara I still recommend The Ellis Faas Mascara in E401

  9. Wow looks good! I really want to try it but its a bit pricey.
You should try the Maybelline Falsies mascara, I find that it curls and holds volume well.

  10. The change is very visible, it looks good on you!

REVIEW: Johnson's Baby Lotion on Adult Skin

I am itching to do some makeup EOTDs and LOTDs since a while now but with guests at home I am not getting any time... So for a while you guys are stuck with me doing reviews. Not that my reviews do not need much efforts but as compared to EOTDs and LOTDs, reviews are a little bit less demanding where time constraints are concerned... Don't you agree? :) Today I shall be reviewing the Johnson's baby lotion and before you raise your eye brows and say to yourself "WTF" let me make it absolutely clear that I bought it when I was out of a moisturiser and needed one pronto! This was the only one available and so I just bought it. I figured if it was good for babies, how could it be bad for me? The truth? Read on ;) Johnson's Baby Lotion is Clinically proven to be mild and mild it sure is. It has a soft and soothing fragrance, which I love. Once applied it gets absorbed really fast and does not leave a residual oiliness or greasiness. It would be perfect for normal

Changes in my Skincare and Fitness Perspective Post 30

Changes in my Skincare and Fitness Perspective Post 30 #Adulting One early morning while I was sipping an exceptionally strong cup of coffee and introspecting I identified a few lifestyle changes that I had incorporated in the past year or so. On further retrospection I realised that these changes were a part of what I perceived would be good for me in the long run... When did I start thinking about my health in the future? When did I start worrying about how my skin would be 10 years down the line? OMG was I #Adulting? Is this even the correct usage of the latest hashtag?

Makeup Class: Difference Between A Bronzer, A Highlighter, An Illuminator & A Brightener

Bronzer Vs Highlighter Vs Illuminator Vs Brightener  Very often than not being a beauty blogger I come across the terms Bronzer, Highlighter, Brightener and Illuminator at least a dozen times a day. These terms are everywhere and people use them in their daily conversation with so much confidence that you'd be surprised at how wrong many of them are in their usages. Oh! Yes even I have made mistakes in the past about their connotations and today armed with research, experiments and well just plain analysis I have reached a consensus where I can now confidently put forth the results of my hard work... Yes, today ladies and gentlemen, I shall be clearing all the confusion that prevails behind Bronzers, Highlighters, Illuminators and Brighteners!
