LOTD: Glamorous Diwali Makeup

 Glamorous Makeup Look For Diwali

Yes I am obsessed! Obsessed with Diwali, obsessed with the promise of festivities during this time of the year and obsessed with anything that is even remotely connected to motichoor laddoos. The smell of crackers, the bokeh effects of diwali lights, gorgeously decked up women and dapper men and the soothing chants of the various aartis and poojas, I am looking forward to them all... With so much on my mind, it is but natural that all my makeup attempts would center around this festival of lights and ladies, hence this post of mine is about yet another makeup look you might want to try this Diwali...

Out of the previous two looks I did HERE and HERE, one was more browned and neutral looking while the other was more vibrant and colorful with purples and pink... This look today is about hot Red lips and glamorous shimmery eyes... After all Indian festive makeup isn't really complete without a dash of golden and a swipe of red right?

For this look, I haven't used a full coverage foundation, rather I have used a sheer foundation in order to bring forward the various dimensions of my face. I have accentuated it further with some heavy contouring. I have kept my lips matte red that is a shade that has a tinge of crimson in it as well... You'll notice that the lips aren't really tomato Red but a little crimson red...
For the eyes, I have shades of pinkish-copper and golden and winged out the liner a little thickly for that added drama!

Cover The Cover: Harper's Bazaar (India) March 2012

You all know that I love tweaking my blog here and there and making some changes, introducing newer features and well sometimes just hooking the blog onto some social networking site :) Well this time I am introducing a new feature that I promise will be really exciting for all beauty enthusiasts :) To start with this feature is called "Cover The Cover" where I shall be covering the cover pages of our favorite beauty and fashion magazines in terms of make-up. There are times when a certain look on a celeb or a fashion mag just gets to us. Well rather than just mulling over such looks I have decided to give life to such looks (on me) and well do a kind of a faux photo shoot ;) What say? Doesn't it sound like fun? What more? You are all invited to submit your looks with a reference to which magazine and edition you are covering and I'll post it here :)

Today's look is inspired by my latest fav mag Harper's Bazaar. The March edition of Harper's Bazaar is a …

REVIEW: Johnson's Baby Lotion on Adult Skin

I am itching to do some makeup EOTDs and LOTDs since a while now but with guests at home I am not getting any time... So for a while you guys are stuck with me doing reviews. Not that my reviews do not need much efforts but as compared to EOTDs and LOTDs, reviews are a little bit less demanding where time constraints are concerned... Don't you agree? :)

Today I shall be reviewing the Johnson's baby lotion and before you raise your eye brows and say to yourself "WTF" let me make it absolutely clear that I bought it when I was out of a moisturiser and needed one pronto! This was the only one available and so I just bought it. I figured if it was good for babies, how could it be bad for me? The truth? Read on ;)

Johnson's Baby Lotion is Clinically proven to be mild and mild it sure is. It has a soft and soothing fragrance, which I love. Once applied it gets absorbed really fast and does not leave a residual oiliness or greasiness. It would be perfect for normal ski…

REVIEW & LOTD: Faces Long Wear Pencil in Navy Blue

While doing the "Meet The Bloggers" feature every Saturday, I have realised (and I am sure that you all have too) that Faces is fast becoming a very popular brand amongst us especially the Faces Long Wear pencils. So much so that a lot of people prefer Faces Long Wear pencils to even Colorbar I-Glides and that ladies and gentlemen is quite a feat for a newly launched brand. So anyways, I got myself a "Navy Blue" from this range and I must say that I am very happy with it. This is my second pencil from Faces after "Turquoise Blue" and well it hasn't failed me either.
This particular shade is a beautiful deep blue that looks stunning on the eye lids.
