Meet The Blogger, Revathy of Health N Beauty
Just the other day while going through ISLM's older posts (I don't do that often I swear), I realised how much the blog had grown over the years... The day I started ISLM, I was already writing for IMBB and I am extremely grateful for the opportunity and the exposure ISLM got due to it. That is when I had decided I would go on and try to do the same and help out other blogs get exposure through ISLM. Of course it took time for me to conceptualize the section on Meet The Bloggers. But now that it is live, I hope it can serve as a platform for all bloggers to leverage it.
Keeping all sappy stories aside, I am today giving a shout out to Revathy of Health N Beauty and am urging you all to come and get to know her a little more (if you didn't already!)...
Tell Us A Little ABout Yourself
Hey there.. I am Revathy.. a Team Lead at a software firm by profession... stepped into this blogging world while searching for a product review... got hooked.. and turned a blogger myself!
I love shopping..anything for that matter...then going into bans too.. :)
I also have a food blog(this reminds I have to post there regularly) :D
Favorite Blog Apart From Your Own
Too many to pen down - I love going through Temptalia, Fashionista, Karen's Makeup & Beauty Blog, Sarah Hassan's Blog, Everything that Matters, ISLM, IBJ, Makeupholic World, My Beauty Junction & many more.... :D
Since How Long Have You Been Blogging
Close to 2 years now.. Started my blog back in Nov 2010
Why Beauty Blogging
I felt I could connect to more people through my own blog... my own beauty space in this virtual world!
Plus being a novice myself, I thought having a blog of my own gives me the responsibility to improve my makeup skills.
And I have to admit that I have met some lovely people both online & in-person through this blogging lens... there is this instant connect when we gals meet as if we have known each other for years now! I totally love it!! :)
Lipstick Or Lipgloss?
Truly..madly..deeply.. a lipstick gal! :D
Kajal Or Eyeliner?
Both - Never stepped outta the home without kohl in my eyes since years... eyeliners again is a must for me to save myself from 'are u sick or what?' looks from people around.. :)
Black Nailpolish Or Pink Nailpolish
Both! But black has a tad more soft corner in the heart.. I have moved over pinks & all I want is blues, greens, yellows & oranges in my stash now.
Favorite Brand For Lipsticks
Maybelline Colorsensational Lipsticks have been a big hit with me. I love Colorbar too - especially their Velvet Matte & Take Me As I Am stuff.
Favorite Brand For Eyeshadows
Not much of an eyeshadow person. Being in the IT industry, doesn't give me the liberty to flaunt eyeshadows on a daily basis, where even colored eyeliners get a strange second stare.
I am mostly into matte neutrals.. and keep trying different browns from various brands. Found no holy grail brand yet!
Favorite Brand For Foundations
It has to be hands down - Revlon!
All the 3 foundation I currently own are from different ranges of Revlon.. love them!
MAC Fix Powder Foundation is a new addition to my stash - another lovely product!
Would love to try Clinique, Benefit & Bourjois for sure in the future.
How Would You Describe Your Favorite Style?
Simple & co-ordinated! No dramatic eyes or lips for me...
I don't go outta my way in my dressing or makeup style.. stick to what suits me the best...be it my body type or skin tone..with a little experimenting here & there.
Your Favorite Trend This Season
Ombre lips & nails!!
Top 5 Makeup Myths According To You
1. Makeup causes acne - Pls gimme a brk!
2. Products with natural ingredients are always the best - There are natural stuff that don't suit many people & synthetic/chemical ones that do good to the skin as well.
3. Keep your makeup according to your age - Not really! You just need to get it right..tats all!
4. Kohl/kajal will exaggerate your dark circles - Not at all.. Kajal+eyeliner+neutral shadow can make your eyes look awake & distract one's attention from your dark circles.
5. Mascara causes eyelashes to fall out - A quality mascara within its shelf life doesn't!
