Tutorial For A Easy Festive Makeup Look For Diwali
And ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the series of carefully planned, spaced and scheduled posts that will greet you for perhaps the whole coming week... Why? Many of you all may know that I am traveling to Delhi this week and will be in the city of the Red Fort! Hola! DILLI! Here I come!
But fret not! I have loads and loads of posts scheduled, ready to come your way and youw ont even know that I am not behind them! I promise :)
And what better way to start the series of scheduled posts than with my next look for Diwali that I feel is younger and more vibrant than the look I did yesterday. And yup its a tutorial!
In this look, I have tried to keep the skin looking flawless and matte. I have played up the eyes with some deep purple shades of eyeshadow and have added a little texture by smudging my kohl. Since the eyes have been made up so as to attract all the focus, I have down played the lips with a plummy brownish shade of lipstick. In order to make the look, look a little effortless (apart from the eyes), I have kept the contouring to a minimum but used a neutral looking blush strategically, so as to not look washed out.

3. Next apply a cream eyeshadow in a light shimmery shade all over your eyelids and on the inner corners. I have used MAC Paint Pot in Bare Study.
4. Then taking a dull purplish shade with a contour brush, pack it in, in your crease area. I have used the shade Twilight from the Sleek Bad Girl Palette.
5. Next take a deeper shade of purple and blend it into the crease area. I have used the shade Rebel from the Sleek Bad Girl Palette
6. Blend the eyeshadows well so as to eliminate any harsh edges.
7. Apply kajal on your waterline. I have used Lakme Eyeconic Kajal.
8. Next apply the kajal on your upper and lower lashline and smudge well.
9. Curl your lashes and apply mascara. I have used Ellis Faas Mascara.
10. Wear a complimenting lipstick. I am wearing Colorbar Velvet Matte Lipstick in Summer Rain.
11. Finish your look with a swipe of blush.
What I really like about this look is that it is extremely easy to create and yet it looks intricate and complex, as if a lot technique went behind it. Ha! That's the magic of makeup isn't it? ;)
