REVIEW: Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation

Review of Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation

Guest Post By: Pranali

Finding your ‘Right’ foundation is much of a task. You get the texture right but the shade wrong and other hundred reasons to detest one single bottle that can change your life. (Yes. Makeup is life changing)
Voila! I’ve found my ‘Right’ Texture in a wrong shade. Bourjois Healthy Mix in 55 Beige Fonce or Dark Beige.  If you ever wondered or still wonder how naturally your skin can look even, kill the thought.

I love this Foundation only because it evens out my skin with that radiance that looks like I’m in the pink of my health. I blindly got this shade after the jaw line test indoors and it turned out a little darker for me in natural light. I am scared of ghostly faces. But I can still make it work with a Powder one shade lighter. And not to ignore the fact that I have Combination/Oily skin. Bourjois claims of 16 hours of staying power, but it turned out false with my combination skin. I have used this and still using this almost daily, in rain, sun or storm and it does not melt off face in sun or humidity.

I accidentally slept with my makeup once in a long journey, and  did not break out. I think Dry skinned girls will love this for the staying power.

One thing that I dislike is the oxidation, It turned out Orange few times initially. So trying at the counter on your full face is necessary before you plunge in to buy.

The Tint is made of Radiance Boosting Fruit Therapy.
  • Apricot for Radiance
  • Melon for Hydration
  • Apple for Anti-Oxidant
  • Ginger for Energy

The Packaging is Pump bottle and semi transparent to see the product through. The pump dispenses Pea sized product with one pump, two enough for face and neck. The Texture is creamier and light, with grace of silicones. It glides on like a dream and disappears effortlessly too. The Finish is Semi-matte, honestly I think my skin looks velvety in person and pictures. Coming to Coverage, It is Medium Coverage Foundation and buildable but might not look naturally radiant.

But I love the fact that it evens out my skin, sometimes it even looks as good as natural skin.

Price of Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation

It costs INR 1120/-

The Pros of Bourjois Healthy Mix:

  1. Medium Coverage, that is buildable.
  2. The consistency is creamy and blends effortlessly.
  3. Semi-Matte Finish,
  4. Non Comedogenic
  5. Staying power for Combination skin is 8 hours or more.
  6. Survives Humidity and Sun.
  7. It is Oil-free.
  8. The Pump dispenser is hygienic.
  9. Availability across all Bourjois Counters.
  10. Photographs well with Flash, though it is no HD foundation.

The Cons of Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation

  1. It transfers on Phone in Sunny climate
  2. Shades are limited
  3. Accentuates the dry patches and dead cells if Face is not hydrated properly.

I think it’s a wonderful companion for ladies who wear makeup every single day.
I mix with moisturizer for Cold days and it works just great. And I am using Healthy mix for more than 6 months. Needless to say I am in love with it, See the FOTD for reference.

  1. i love this foundation...and one other variant of this which is a gel based foundation..i am n the shade and this is my hg product I must say...its awesome!!!

  2. I hate that it transfers on my phone as well! And it didn't stay matte on my oily skin. Other than that, it was an alright product.

  3. it makes my dry areas drier... or else it is a good one :)

  4. never tried bourjois but would love to try in future!

You all know that I love tweaking my blog here and there and making some changes, introducing newer features and well sometimes just hooking the blog onto some social networking site :) Well this time I am introducing a new feature that I promise will be really exciting for all beauty enthusiasts :) To start with this feature is called "Cover The Cover" where I shall be covering the cover pages of our favorite beauty and fashion magazines in terms of make-up. There are times when a certain look on a celeb or a fashion mag just gets to us. Well rather than just mulling over such looks I have decided to give life to such looks (on me) and well do a kind of a faux photo shoot ;) What say? Doesn't it sound like fun? What more? You are all invited to submit your looks with a reference to which magazine and edition you are covering and I'll post it here :)

Today's look is inspired by my latest fav mag Harper's Bazaar. The March edition of Harper's Bazaar is a …

REVIEW: L'Oreal Paris Infallible Blush Paint Longwear High Impact Stick - Fuchsia Fame

Review of L'Oreal Paris Infallible Blush Paint Longwear High Impact Stick - Fuchsia Fame
Right now am sitting at the dining table trying to figure out a way to start this post in an "interesting" way... I am obviously struggling... There are these times when your mind just goes blank and you can't think of anything, right? Yeah, I am having one of those moments...

So, I guess I'll directly dive into the review and not mull around. I bought the L'Oreal Paris Infallible Blush Paint Stick on a whim... I was out window shopping at Shoppers Stop and I just happened to glance at the L'Oreal counter and this cute little stub caught my fancy... The moment I swatched it I knew I had to buy it...

Price of L'Oreal Paris Infallible Blush Paint Stick It costs a whopping INR 999/-

There is nothing much to talk about the packaging. It is exactly what it looks like, a rotating chubby stick with a cap. The plastic doesn't seem cheap and is pretty sturdy. I have d…

REVIEW: Johnson's Baby Lotion on Adult Skin

I am itching to do some makeup EOTDs and LOTDs since a while now but with guests at home I am not getting any time... So for a while you guys are stuck with me doing reviews. Not that my reviews do not need much efforts but as compared to EOTDs and LOTDs, reviews are a little bit less demanding where time constraints are concerned... Don't you agree? :)

Today I shall be reviewing the Johnson's baby lotion and before you raise your eye brows and say to yourself "WTF" let me make it absolutely clear that I bought it when I was out of a moisturiser and needed one pronto! This was the only one available and so I just bought it. I figured if it was good for babies, how could it be bad for me? The truth? Read on ;)

Johnson's Baby Lotion is Clinically proven to be mild and mild it sure is. It has a soft and soothing fragrance, which I love. Once applied it gets absorbed really fast and does not leave a residual oiliness or greasiness. It would be perfect for normal ski…
