My Birthday, Updates, Back From Being MIA... Rants In General

Happy Birthday To Me!

My mom always told me that a person can be judged by the birthday wishes he/she gets... Of course I always scoffed it off thinking about how easy it was for people to wish others on their birthdays in the era of Facebook, which does not let you miss out on anybody's birthday... However, this birthday I realized the true meaning of my mum's words and realized that it wasn't the number of wishes she was talking about but the way, the means and the sentiment behind each wish :)

I feel truly blessed today...

But before I begin ranting, let me first tell you all about my being MIA for almost a whole week... I haven't been keeping well all this while... I seem to have caught a bug and have been down with watery eyes, running nose, sore throat and high temperatures and if that was not enough, a blocked head and almost zero hearing power... So the last week had been really trying for me and I have been taking a lot of time off for introspection that I am hoping will see a lot of changes in me in the coming days...

The first change that I am consciously making is of eating healthy... Nah na am not talking about eating "healthy" in a diet sort of way but actually the opposite... My immunity seems to be at its all time low and hence I realised there were a lot of things that I was not taking in and by that I mean fat (in the form of butter/ghee), nuts (cashews/walnuts), milk (without coffee!) and specific fruits like bananas and custard apples (they are of the fattening variety)... Also instead of a veggie salad for lunch I am going to try my best to carry hot soup or a boiled pulses salad with little pieces of boiled chicken/fish... And yes I am so helping myself to a little butter every other day...

Secondly, I plan on getting more sleep in a day... My average day ends at about 2:00 am and starts at about 8:00 am... Even though 6 hours is enough sleep, I am looking at changing my sleeping patterns to 12:00 midnight to 7:00 am... Somehow it totally seems more healthy that way ;)

Thirdly, I am also looking at doing my posts early in the morning rather than late at night and may be doing a lot of scheduling over the weekend... Hence you all may see sporadic bursts of posts and little intervals of no posts at all for a week or so... Gimme some time and I promise it will soon settle into a comfortable pattern :)
By doing this I plan on getting more time to spend with the pati in the evenings, when we are both back from work...

Now, coming to my birthday... My birthday was yesterday and even though I have gotten really close to being 30 now, I still feel that there is so much more I have to do and need to do before I actually settle down with a complacent albeit satisfying life :)
I generally never look forward to birthdays cause I hate the fuss that it brings with it and the way people seem to be obligated to make it special for you. However, this year I was really looking forward to my birthday... Unusually so... So by the time Sunday dawned, I realised I was going to have a mixed bag of a birthday... With me being down with the flu, a whole day of training scheduled on my birthday (leave plans slashed) and the pati being really busy this time of the year, I knew my birthday would prove to be a deflated balloon :/

But it turned out so well! Even though I attended the full day training but the various birthday wishes that I kept receiving through whatsapp and texts from friends old and new, bouquets after bouquets of my favorite flowers in the whole world... Purple Orchids, Lilies, Gladiolies, Carnations and of course rajnigandha made the day quite special :) I didn't even know people knew my favorite flowers as I have quite an unusual choice in them :)

And then the cakes... One of our really close friends got this huge cake for me with marzipan makeup products topping it... The pati got me my favorite chocolate truffle cake from my favorite cake shop, my parents sent me a yum yum chocolate devil cake all the way from Manipur and finally the pati's employees got me a huge Black Forest cake... I was really touched :)

I was in cake and flowers heaven!

Then came the highlight, my sister sent me a gift through Flipkart and lo and behold! It was the "Bobbi Brown's Makeup Manual"... OMG the book is just awesome, pages after pages of glossy tutorials... I am so excited about it! My bestie got be these beautiful silver leaf earrings... I am dying to wear them now...

The Earrings...
The Shoes!
And finally the cherry on the cake or rather cherries... The pati takes me on his bike (just like our courtship days) to Zara, gets me this gorgeous pair of suede pumps, takes me to dinner and then we settle for a late night movie at PVR... Shudh Desi Romance... Of course the movie is a dud but the theater was practically empty and so we shift to the top row of plush sofas and we relived our courtship days :P If you know what I mean... It was special really! :D

Lastly, before I end this post and relieve you guys of my ranting, I would like to thank all of you who wished me through Facebook, Whatsapp, text messages and especially to Anks, who wrote THIS post for me :)

Thanks guys, I truly feel blessed and loved :D

REVIEW: L'Oreal Paris Infallible Blush Paint Longwear High Impact Stick - Fuchsia Fame

Review of L'Oreal Paris Infallible Blush Paint Longwear High Impact Stick - Fuchsia Fame
Right now am sitting at the dining table trying to figure out a way to start this post in an "interesting" way... I am obviously struggling... There are these times when your mind just goes blank and you can't think of anything, right? Yeah, I am having one of those moments...

So, I guess I'll directly dive into the review and not mull around. I bought the L'Oreal Paris Infallible Blush Paint Stick on a whim... I was out window shopping at Shoppers Stop and I just happened to glance at the L'Oreal counter and this cute little stub caught my fancy... The moment I swatched it I knew I had to buy it...

Price of L'Oreal Paris Infallible Blush Paint Stick It costs a whopping INR 999/-

There is nothing much to talk about the packaging. It is exactly what it looks like, a rotating chubby stick with a cap. The plastic doesn't seem cheap and is pretty sturdy. I have d…

REVIEW: Johnson's Baby Lotion on Adult Skin

I am itching to do some makeup EOTDs and LOTDs since a while now but with guests at home I am not getting any time... So for a while you guys are stuck with me doing reviews. Not that my reviews do not need much efforts but as compared to EOTDs and LOTDs, reviews are a little bit less demanding where time constraints are concerned... Don't you agree? :)

Today I shall be reviewing the Johnson's baby lotion and before you raise your eye brows and say to yourself "WTF" let me make it absolutely clear that I bought it when I was out of a moisturiser and needed one pronto! This was the only one available and so I just bought it. I figured if it was good for babies, how could it be bad for me? The truth? Read on ;)

Johnson's Baby Lotion is Clinically proven to be mild and mild it sure is. It has a soft and soothing fragrance, which I love. Once applied it gets absorbed really fast and does not leave a residual oiliness or greasiness. It would be perfect for normal ski…

How I Wear My Denim Jacket To Be In Trend for 2018

How I Wear My Denim Jacket To Be In Trend for 2018 Denim is forever. It's versatility makes it a classic and in the form of a jacket it not just looks dapper and en vogue but is also comfortable and convenient... I love denim jackets because they are perfect for Pune's so called Winters and because they are the best accessories for any kind of outfit...

Going through some of the Fall Winter 2017-18 collections from the likes of Calvin Klein, Christian Dior and Stella McCartney, denim on denim seemed to be the trend in boxy and boyish silhouettes. I am not a very big fan of denim and denim and hence I prefer to pair my boxy denim jacket with a flowy, floral dress that makes the look strike a balance between feminine and androgynous.
