REVIEW: MAC Impassioned Lipstick

Review of MAC Impassioned Lipstick

Guest Post By: Pranali

There is this thing with firsts, people always remember their ‘First’ no matter what. Here goes my first review on ISLM with my first MAC Lipstick. I always wanted Party Parrot, an LE of Strength Collection for Spring 2012 but I never could try it. Bright Colors always attracts my sight first. So, MAC Impassioned ended up being the first lipstick I tried at the store.

And that very moment, I knew it had to be mine.

Impassioned is sort of Neon shade, a Pinkish Coral Red with warm undertone. I’d say it’s a wonderful cocktail of Coral, Red and Pink that will suit Fair to Wheatish Beauties. It is from the Permanent range

I would pair this up with winged eyeliner any day to oomph my look. The color is just perfect for a Summery day or even to brighten up a dull day. The color looks warm in bright daylight and cool toned pink indoors.

MAC Impassioned is moderately creamy but not moisturizing. Also it accentuates chappiness if the lips are dry, prepping Lips prior with exfoliation and hydration is necessary.

The pigmentation is out of the world, almost like a Matte Lipstick, goes opaque in one swipe. My pigmented lips look even with the application, it beautifully covers my upper lip’s pigmentation.
MAC Impassioned lasts for about 5-6 hours and then starts wearing off leaving tint behind. The transfer is almost negligible and it turns to matte finish after sometime. I sometimes use it as Lip tint and put on some clear gloss.

Price of MAC Amplified Crème Lipstick Impassioned

It costs  INR 990/-

All that is Good about MAC Amplified Crème Lipstick Impassioned:

1) The Pigmentation. It goes opaque is one singe swipe.

2) Staying Power is as good as a Matte Lipstick.

3) Non-Transferable, survives meals and drinks.

4) Negligible yet pleasant Vanilla Fragrance.

5) Permanent Range, hence no issue trying hands on!

6) The Tint easily comes off with Makeup remover, definitely a plus.

The Bad about MAC Amplified Crème Lipstick Impassioned

1) It might accentuate chapped lips if wore on un-prepped lips.

2) Expensive.

3) Dry lipped girls should never forget their balms and salves ;)

Repurchase?

I think, this will last me long enough. But I will surely get Party Parrot which is more Coral than Impassioned.

Recommendations:

Okay... If you are Bold and have a weakness for brights, you should grab one immediately.
And I am sure it will suit Dusky beauties as well. I range from NC40-42, It goes well with my Foundation Face. *wink*
But trying at the store will not harm you. Will it?

Overall Rating:
8.5/10

P.S. Ladies... Please extend a warm and a hearty welcome to the youngest member of the ISLM family... Pranali...

Cover The Cover: Harper's Bazaar (India) March 2012

You all know that I love tweaking my blog here and there and making some changes, introducing newer features and well sometimes just hooking the blog onto some social networking site :) Well this time I am introducing a new feature that I promise will be really exciting for all beauty enthusiasts :) To start with this feature is called "Cover The Cover" where I shall be covering the cover pages of our favorite beauty and fashion magazines in terms of make-up. There are times when a certain look on a celeb or a fashion mag just gets to us. Well rather than just mulling over such looks I have decided to give life to such looks (on me) and well do a kind of a faux photo shoot ;) What say? Doesn't it sound like fun? What more? You are all invited to submit your looks with a reference to which magazine and edition you are covering and I'll post it here :)

Today's look is inspired by my latest fav mag Harper's Bazaar. The March edition of Harper's Bazaar is a …

REVIEW & LOTD: Faces Long Wear Pencil in Navy Blue

While doing the "Meet The Bloggers" feature every Saturday, I have realised (and I am sure that you all have too) that Faces is fast becoming a very popular brand amongst us especially the Faces Long Wear pencils. So much so that a lot of people prefer Faces Long Wear pencils to even Colorbar I-Glides and that ladies and gentlemen is quite a feat for a newly launched brand. So anyways, I got myself a "Navy Blue" from this range and I must say that I am very happy with it. This is my second pencil from Faces after "Turquoise Blue" and well it hasn't failed me either.
This particular shade is a beautiful deep blue that looks stunning on the eye lids.

Ooooohss And Aaahhss!! 1. Really really stays on forever. 2. Doesn't smudge on my oily lids even after 8 hours of wear. 3. Friendly to the pocket 4. Faces have become quite easily available now. 5. They do not cause any allergies or reactions. 6. They are waterline safe a…

REVIEW: Johnson's Baby Lotion on Adult Skin

I am itching to do some makeup EOTDs and LOTDs since a while now but with guests at home I am not getting any time... So for a while you guys are stuck with me doing reviews. Not that my reviews do not need much efforts but as compared to EOTDs and LOTDs, reviews are a little bit less demanding where time constraints are concerned... Don't you agree? :)

Today I shall be reviewing the Johnson's baby lotion and before you raise your eye brows and say to yourself "WTF" let me make it absolutely clear that I bought it when I was out of a moisturiser and needed one pronto! This was the only one available and so I just bought it. I figured if it was good for babies, how could it be bad for me? The truth? Read on ;)

Johnson's Baby Lotion is Clinically proven to be mild and mild it sure is. It has a soft and soothing fragrance, which I love. Once applied it gets absorbed really fast and does not leave a residual oiliness or greasiness. It would be perfect for normal ski…
