Bridal Beauty: Tips & Tricks For Your Engagement/Sagan Makeup

Engagement Makeup

Marrying into a North Indian family is like getting a crash course on Bollywood weddings and demystifying the various functions and celebrations that are always a part of a Karan Johar movie. From rokka to sagan to chunni-chadhana to teeka to mehendi to sangeet to jai-maala to phere to vidaai, I have been educated about them all...

Of course with a huge number of functions come an equal (if not more) number of outfits and hence makeup. Thus today's makeup is versatile enough to be worn on the lesser functions like the Engagement or the sagan or for chunni-chadhan and even for a Rokka ceremony (if you are having one on a big scale)...

For today's makeup, I have kept the look young, fresh and feminine. As is evident, the color palette for this look consists of pinks and purples, since I have noticed that most brides keep Red or Maroon for the actual wedding ceremony.
So here's the look...

Products Used
1. Kryolan Ultra Foundation (review HERE)
2. Kryolan Translucent Powder
3. Konad Eyebrow Pencil in Black

Tips & Tricks For Your Engagement Makeup

1. Try to keep your Engagement makeup light, fun and young. Go for a more mature and classy look for the actual wedding.
2. Opt for fun shades in the palettes of pinks, greens, light blues and pale goldens.
3. The main focus of your makeup should be on flawless skin and a perfect but natural looking base.
4. Avoid bronzers and contouring as they have an effect of weighing down your entire look.
5. Go on, satiate your cravings for false lashes.

Hope this helps and if you have any particular queries or questions regarding bridal makeupor even makeup in general then do write to me at :)

REVIEW: Johnson's Baby Lotion on Adult Skin

I am itching to do some makeup EOTDs and LOTDs since a while now but with guests at home I am not getting any time... So for a while you guys are stuck with me doing reviews. Not that my reviews do not need much efforts but as compared to EOTDs and LOTDs, reviews are a little bit less demanding where time constraints are concerned... Don't you agree? :) Today I shall be reviewing the Johnson's baby lotion and before you raise your eye brows and say to yourself "WTF" let me make it absolutely clear that I bought it when I was out of a moisturiser and needed one pronto! This was the only one available and so I just bought it. I figured if it was good for babies, how could it be bad for me? The truth? Read on ;) Johnson's Baby Lotion is Clinically proven to be mild and mild it sure is. It has a soft and soothing fragrance, which I love. Once applied it gets absorbed really fast and does not leave a residual oiliness or greasiness. It would be perfect for normal

Changes in my Skincare and Fitness Perspective Post 30

Changes in my Skincare and Fitness Perspective Post 30 #Adulting One early morning while I was sipping an exceptionally strong cup of coffee and introspecting I identified a few lifestyle changes that I had incorporated in the past year or so. On further retrospection I realised that these changes were a part of what I perceived would be good for me in the long run... When did I start thinking about my health in the future? When did I start worrying about how my skin would be 10 years down the line? OMG was I #Adulting? Is this even the correct usage of the latest hashtag?

Makeup Class: Difference Between A Bronzer, A Highlighter, An Illuminator & A Brightener

Bronzer Vs Highlighter Vs Illuminator Vs Brightener  Very often than not being a beauty blogger I come across the terms Bronzer, Highlighter, Brightener and Illuminator at least a dozen times a day. These terms are everywhere and people use them in their daily conversation with so much confidence that you'd be surprised at how wrong many of them are in their usages. Oh! Yes even I have made mistakes in the past about their connotations and today armed with research, experiments and well just plain analysis I have reached a consensus where I can now confidently put forth the results of my hard work... Yes, today ladies and gentlemen, I shall be clearing all the confusion that prevails behind Bronzers, Highlighters, Illuminators and Brighteners!
