Celebrity Makeup: Raveena Tandon and Her Makeup Woes

Why Does Raveena Tandon Do This To Herself?

There is makeup gone wrong and then there is deliberately not caring enough if your makeup goes wrong... Which is the case with Mrs Raveena Tandon Thaddani is something I'd really like to know! With her beautiful and expressive features you expect her to be at the epitome of beauty every time she steps out fo the house. However, some things are not meant to be and her makeup is one of them...

I don't even know where to start...
The foundation obviously is a wrong shade... I am betting that she went for a shade that is a shade too light and is pink based. Her complexion is wheatish to dusky with strong yellow undertones and this mismatch is sure costing her the whole look. There is a stark difference between the color of her neck and her face.
Another thing that I am ready to put my money on is that her foundation contains SPF and at least 40% of the weird shade of her face is because of it. Stay away from foundation with SPF! It totally creates a havoc with flash photography!

The second issue that pops right up is the overdone bronzer! Like really? It is just so wrong! Contrary to popular belief a bronzer is not a blush and neither should it be used for contouring! And it for sure should not be used on the apples of you cheeks unless of course God blessed you with a thin and a long face!

Thirdly, I am on the fence about the shade of the lipstick... The dull gold outfit (saree) required a pop of color via either a Red or a Berry shade!

Finally the browbone highlighter! Gosh! With all the bling on the saree, did she really need a super shimmery highlighted browbone? I think not!

What do you think of Raveena Tandon's Makeup?
Are you hating it as much as I am?

  1. The first thing I saw today as I logged in FB is this & it took me some time to come to terms with it.I mean this could have clearly been one of her best & most talked about look if not marred by the unbelievably bad face makeup. All I can think of is , she looks tired & grey! It's a strange combination of gray , gold & pink! & Pink lips with this outfit shouldn't even have been her last choice. & to think she is so pretty! sigh! Like you said somethings are not meant to be. But nice post, I guess people should learn more about color matching. :)

Cover The Cover: Harper's Bazaar (India) March 2012

You all know that I love tweaking my blog here and there and making some changes, introducing newer features and well sometimes just hooking the blog onto some social networking site :) Well this time I am introducing a new feature that I promise will be really exciting for all beauty enthusiasts :) To start with this feature is called "Cover The Cover" where I shall be covering the cover pages of our favorite beauty and fashion magazines in terms of make-up. There are times when a certain look on a celeb or a fashion mag just gets to us. Well rather than just mulling over such looks I have decided to give life to such looks (on me) and well do a kind of a faux photo shoot ;) What say? Doesn't it sound like fun? What more? You are all invited to submit your looks with a reference to which magazine and edition you are covering and I'll post it here :)

Today's look is inspired by my latest fav mag Harper's Bazaar. The March edition of Harper's Bazaar is a …

Review of L'Oreal Paris Infallible Blush Paint Longwear High Impact Stick - Fuchsia Fame
Right now am sitting at the dining table trying to figure out a way to start this post in an "interesting" way... I am obviously struggling... There are these times when your mind just goes blank and you can't think of anything, right? Yeah, I am having one of those moments...

So, I guess I'll directly dive into the review and not mull around. I bought the L'Oreal Paris Infallible Blush Paint Stick on a whim... I was out window shopping at Shoppers Stop and I just happened to glance at the L'Oreal counter and this cute little stub caught my fancy... The moment I swatched it I knew I had to buy it...

Price of L'Oreal Paris Infallible Blush Paint Stick It costs a whopping INR 999/-

There is nothing much to talk about the packaging. It is exactly what it looks like, a rotating chubby stick with a cap. The plastic doesn't seem cheap and is pretty sturdy. I have d…

REVIEW & LOTD: Faces Long Wear Pencil in Navy Blue

While doing the "Meet The Bloggers" feature every Saturday, I have realised (and I am sure that you all have too) that Faces is fast becoming a very popular brand amongst us especially the Faces Long Wear pencils. So much so that a lot of people prefer Faces Long Wear pencils to even Colorbar I-Glides and that ladies and gentlemen is quite a feat for a newly launched brand. So anyways, I got myself a "Navy Blue" from this range and I must say that I am very happy with it. This is my second pencil from Faces after "Turquoise Blue" and well it hasn't failed me either.
This particular shade is a beautiful deep blue that looks stunning on the eye lids.
