REVIEW: Kryolan Ultra Foundation

Review of Kryolan Ultra Foundation: Perfect For Dry Skin Beauties Looking For Medium to Heavy Coverage

I had always been scared of foundations... I had this uncanny fear of looking "artificial" or "made up" with foundation on and hence even though I had embraced eye shadows and blushes and lipsticks, bringing foundations into my inner-circle of makeup products took me a long time... If you look at it technically, I had to get married to finally be comfortable with foundations! Yup! True that!

But today after trying out a couple (not very many), I think I have found my match (literally) and since I have already reviewed my favorite light coverage foundation, which is MAC Face & Body Foundation (review HERE), today I am reviewing my favorite medium to heavy coverage foundation, Kryolan Ultra Foundation...

Kryolan Ultra Foundation is a medium to heavy coverage foundation and is something that would mostly suit girls with dry skin. It is moisturising and does not result in flakiness. Do bear in mind that it gives a dewy-effect to the whole look and is not mattifying. In order to mattify your makeup, you will need to set your foundation with powder.

As this foundation provides decent coverage, using a concealer for minor blemishes is not needed. However, please note that it does not cover dark circles.

The Kryolan Ultra Foundation has great staying power and it puts up with heat and humidity pretty easily. It does not melt and is waterproof. The foundation does not contain SPF and is perfect for being photographed in. It is waterproof and consistency wise is very thick and creamy.

Oily-skinned girls should stay away from this foundation as it does tend to be very moisturising and may require frequent powder touch-ups.

It comes in about 12 shades and hence finding a match for your skintone shouldn't be difficult at all. I use the shade 0B3 and it is a perfect match for me.

How To Use/Apply Kryolan Ultra Foundation

As the consistency of the said foundation is extremely thick, which might feel a little thicker during the colder months, I generally prefer applying it with a flat foundation brush. I use a synthetic flat foundation brush from Colorbar and apply it in a downward motion.
In order to reduce the thickness of the product, I spray my brush with FabIndia's Orange Face Mist and then blend.
Avoid using your fingers to apply this particular foundation as it being thick it might prove to be difficult to blend using your fingers.
It is however great as an additive for your face cream/lotion if you are looking for a light, evened out skin.

Price of Kryolan Ultra Foundation

It costs INR 300 of a 3.5 gms refill and INR 900 for a whole tub.

Oooohhhhsss and Aaaahhhssss!!!
1. Extremely moisturising and is hence perfect for dry skin.
2. Gives medium to heavy coverage without looking OTT and artificial.
3. With a wide variety of shades available it is extremely easy to find your match.
4. Comes in a refill pan that is reasonably priced and goes on for more than 6 months of regular use.
5. It has a thick, creamy texture and is hence very travel friendly.
6. It has superb staying power.
7. It does not melt in the sun.

1. Will not suit girls with oily skin.
2. Requires a flat foundation brush for smooth application. Using your fingers is not an option.

I am already on my second pan!

This is a great product for you if you have dry skin and are looking for a heavy coverage foundation. It however will not suit those with oily skin.

REVIEW: Johnson's Baby Lotion on Adult Skin

I am itching to do some makeup EOTDs and LOTDs since a while now but with guests at home I am not getting any time... So for a while you guys are stuck with me doing reviews. Not that my reviews do not need much efforts but as compared to EOTDs and LOTDs, reviews are a little bit less demanding where time constraints are concerned... Don't you agree? :) Today I shall be reviewing the Johnson's baby lotion and before you raise your eye brows and say to yourself "WTF" let me make it absolutely clear that I bought it when I was out of a moisturiser and needed one pronto! This was the only one available and so I just bought it. I figured if it was good for babies, how could it be bad for me? The truth? Read on ;) Johnson's Baby Lotion is Clinically proven to be mild and mild it sure is. It has a soft and soothing fragrance, which I love. Once applied it gets absorbed really fast and does not leave a residual oiliness or greasiness. It would be perfect for normal

Changes in my Skincare and Fitness Perspective Post 30

Changes in my Skincare and Fitness Perspective Post 30 #Adulting One early morning while I was sipping an exceptionally strong cup of coffee and introspecting I identified a few lifestyle changes that I had incorporated in the past year or so. On further retrospection I realised that these changes were a part of what I perceived would be good for me in the long run... When did I start thinking about my health in the future? When did I start worrying about how my skin would be 10 years down the line? OMG was I #Adulting? Is this even the correct usage of the latest hashtag?

Makeup Class: Difference Between A Bronzer, A Highlighter, An Illuminator & A Brightener

Bronzer Vs Highlighter Vs Illuminator Vs Brightener  Very often than not being a beauty blogger I come across the terms Bronzer, Highlighter, Brightener and Illuminator at least a dozen times a day. These terms are everywhere and people use them in their daily conversation with so much confidence that you'd be surprised at how wrong many of them are in their usages. Oh! Yes even I have made mistakes in the past about their connotations and today armed with research, experiments and well just plain analysis I have reached a consensus where I can now confidently put forth the results of my hard work... Yes, today ladies and gentlemen, I shall be clearing all the confusion that prevails behind Bronzers, Highlighters, Illuminators and Brighteners!
