REVIEW: MAC Eyeshadow Patina

MAC Patina Eyeshadow Review Swatches

Review of MAC Patina Eyeshadow

You know what I really love about MAC? Their eyeshadows... Of course I adore their lippies too and I simply cannot live without MAC's Paint Pots but MAC eyeshadows in particular hold a special place in my heart... You know why? Cause most of them do not smudge and crease on me... And that's huge! Trust Me :)
Plus of course who can ignore the array of colorful little pans that are kept on display that catch your eye much before anything else does in the store...

It is that display array at the MAC store that tempts me to buy at least a couple of eyeshadows every time I visit the store... However, the one that I had been looking for quite a while had always been out of stock! The eyeshadow in question is MAC Patina... I had been looking for it high and low and it had been out of stock in Pune and all Mumbai stores... So much so that it seemed like a mirage to me and I had surrendered to the fact that I may never get to use the eyeshadow ever!

But, Dhara of TheHappiTherapy very kindly offered to send it over all the way from Amritsar and I considered myself saved! Thank you so much Dhara cause MAC Patina at the moment is my favorite eyeshadow and I owe it all to you :)

So coming back to the review, MAC Patina is a shade that is extremely hard to explain. On me it is cool, champagne-y shade with a little pale golden highlights... It almost blends with my skin color and I love the pale, glossy effect it imparts to my eyes. On the other hand, it look very icy and sexy on girls with a darker complexion and it reportedly looks more warm and brownish golden on very pale skintones...

Hence, it is one of those magical eyeshadows that you need to give the benefit of doubt and give it a free hand to weave it's unique magic on you... I am certain that it would look different on everybody...
Btw just thought that it might interest you to know that it is one of JLo's or rather JLo's makeup artist's favorite eyeshadow and it is used on JLo pretty frequently ;)

Price of MAC Eyeshadows

INR 720/- for a refill pan and INR 900/- for a pan.

Here are some swatches and how it actually looks on me :)

The Last Word...
If you are looking for a glossy silver/pale gold effect on your eyes and still look subtly done up, then MAC Patina is for you... Also if you are looking for an eye shadow that does not crease and may actually surprise you with how it looks on you then MAC Patina is definitely worth a shot!

Cover The Cover: Harper's Bazaar (India) March 2012

You all know that I love tweaking my blog here and there and making some changes, introducing newer features and well sometimes just hooking the blog onto some social networking site :) Well this time I am introducing a new feature that I promise will be really exciting for all beauty enthusiasts :) To start with this feature is called "Cover The Cover" where I shall be covering the cover pages of our favorite beauty and fashion magazines in terms of make-up. There are times when a certain look on a celeb or a fashion mag just gets to us. Well rather than just mulling over such looks I have decided to give life to such looks (on me) and well do a kind of a faux photo shoot ;) What say? Doesn't it sound like fun? What more? You are all invited to submit your looks with a reference to which magazine and edition you are covering and I'll post it here :)

Today's look is inspired by my latest fav mag Harper's Bazaar. The March edition of Harper's Bazaar is a …

REVIEW & LOTD: Faces Long Wear Pencil in Navy Blue

While doing the "Meet The Bloggers" feature every Saturday, I have realised (and I am sure that you all have too) that Faces is fast becoming a very popular brand amongst us especially the Faces Long Wear pencils. So much so that a lot of people prefer Faces Long Wear pencils to even Colorbar I-Glides and that ladies and gentlemen is quite a feat for a newly launched brand. So anyways, I got myself a "Navy Blue" from this range and I must say that I am very happy with it. This is my second pencil from Faces after "Turquoise Blue" and well it hasn't failed me either.
This particular shade is a beautiful deep blue that looks stunning on the eye lids.

REVIEW: Johnson's Baby Lotion on Adult Skin

I am itching to do some makeup EOTDs and LOTDs since a while now but with guests at home I am not getting any time... So for a while you guys are stuck with me doing reviews. Not that my reviews do not need much efforts but as compared to EOTDs and LOTDs, reviews are a little bit less demanding where time constraints are concerned... Don't you agree? :)

Today I shall be reviewing the Johnson's baby lotion and before you raise your eye brows and say to yourself "WTF" let me make it absolutely clear that I bought it when I was out of a moisturiser and needed one pronto! This was the only one available and so I just bought it. I figured if it was good for babies, how could it be bad for me? The truth? Read on ;)

Johnson's Baby Lotion is Clinically proven to be mild and mild it sure is. It has a soft and soothing fragrance, which I love. Once applied it gets absorbed really fast and does not leave a residual oiliness or greasiness. It would be perfect for normal ski…
